It’s weird that Starkiller gave Yoda more respect than Luke did

In the novelization of the game, Starkiller was scared shitless by Yoda. He wonders how a creature so feeble looking could actually live on a planet so infested with the Dark Side, let alone sit outside the cave where all that energy was coming from. After nearly dying in the cave he comes to the conclusion Yoda must either be insane or the most powerful being he's ever seen. He actually runs to his ship afraid that Yoda is chasing him.

True, tho he chose Dagobah very specifically as a way of using the dark side of the planet to shield his location from the the emperor's senses with force. It's clear that Yoda has the clearest understanding of the dark side than any jedi master in his era, yet the strongest connection to the light. He really was the most powerful jedi that ever lived.

Miharo Totoro Of course not. But this story contributed a lot to the lore of Star Wars outside of an already great story. It shows the formation of the Rebel Alliance, the great Jedi purge, expanding on some of the locations like Felucia, and seeing the construction of the Death Star and how it affects the galaxy both directly and indirectly. There’s just so much detail put into the game that it’s absurd how it was just cast aside.

@@jamesgilvary683 There is no such thing at Disney. Not even the Mandalorian was any good, the story is dumb on so many levels that it boggles the mind. Because the show wasn't complete trash like the soy wars "trilogy" and manages to be fun (you know the bare minimum for a show) it gets a pass. That is supposedly the "peak" of Disney Star Wars. Give me a break, at this point i wouldn't trust them to produce a commercial for selling water to sand people. If we ever get good star wars again it will be years from now, probably some fan project made by people who actually care and know what they are doing. I would love to see KOTOR, the Shadow of the empire trilogy, Bane's trilogy, or a X-Wing story on the "big screen" for example but Disney would just ruin it. So i dread it rather than look forward to any of it.

he did know that yoda was fiercely powerful in the novelization of the game after he left the cave he was running because he thought that yoda was chasing him

I love how Yoda both confirms Starkiller's thoughts AND grants him some wisdom in the same sentence. "That which you seek...inside, you will find." He didn't just mean that Starkiller would find answers by looking inside the cave. He also meant he would find answers by looking inside _himself_

I love the subtle touch here. Yoda is acting like a wise Jedi master that he is, because Starkiller is not the one who he is waiting for. He gives him straight forward (well close enough) directions, but doesn't go overboard with helping him. Then when Luke arrives, he puts on the weird old man act, to test Luke, and is both much more cryptic and much more helpful.

I love that Luke received a vague vision he had no context to, while Galen got a direct scene of what he needed. It speaks to how much a force user’s power can help them understand what they seek.

It only makes sense. Yoda is wide enough to know people change. You can start on whatever side of the board you want but you may not always be on that side. Why would Yoda care about a few imperial insignia's? Yoda always struck me as the type to judge someone just as much by what they are as what they could be

Dude, I had a 80mm steel pin fall on my hand with such force that my adrenaline spiked and made my whole body go limp, I was dragging myself to the office to tell my supervisor.

Yoda's sigh at the end. Maybe he felt Starkiller was too wrapped up in this, to be the one to bring balance to the force!? And thus waited for the next one to come (Luke)

Starkiller is still one of the big stones that pave the path of rebalance. Everything counts. Without Starkiller, Vader wouldn't have finally betrayed the Emperor just as without Luke, Vader wouldn't.

I haven’t even played this game. Found this scene today I’ve watched it 20 times. So interesting. The way yoda so humbly says “the galaxy brought you here, obviously this is your path” and “something you lost. Part of yourself perhaps” hit me so hard

Its said that after this altercation starkiller feared yoda as he was visibly shaken how a little green creature could sit outside a cave that is filled with the dark side

This speaks a lot to Luke's flying ability, or lack thereof. Starkiller sets it down on dry land. Luke crashes uncontrollably into swamp water.

I really like how an Imperial aligned force user and an old Jedi master actually meet and don’t just not fight but actually seem to peacefully interact without overt acrimony. I dunno, it’s just kinda wholesome.

Starkiller really got his answer. The clones in the cave have the Kamino Logo on them. It is the details that tell most of the story

Luke trained by light side Galen: there's a fucking scary thought. You thought Luke creating black holes and annihilating over half a yuuzhan vong fleet was bad...i could just IMAGINE the insane shit he could do if he was actually TRAINED for it.

This scene is much more better than a whole disney sequel trilogy

You know with all the interactions yoda had in his “exile” it’s a wonder the empire never found him 😭

I doubt anyone could actually defeat Yoda long enough to bring him in, outside of Palpatine himself; and the Emperor was obviously too busy with day-to-day matters running his empire.

Jedi: Fallen Order has greater gravitas and respect for the source material than this game. This scene? Fan service. They wanted the gary stu of all gary stus to bump into Yoda, just for recognition points.

Starkiller was wiser than I thought. He didn't underestimate Yoda, even though he seemed old and weak. He didn't just arrogantly burst through. He understood that even the littlest of things can make for a powerful foe, so he asked if Yoda was guarding this place. I doubt many force users had it in them to swallow their pride and consider every being to be possibly equal or even greater than them. Good job Starkiller. You've earned my respect

Ngl the force unleashed in fallen orders graphics would make an epic game.

The Character development of starkiller trough the game is incredible he deserves to be cannon again at least as an animated series

Sam Witwer has the decency of play the voice of maul and the appearance and voice of star killer.....also the game of Days Gone is amazingggggg

Starkiller and Yoda are both each my favorite Star Wars characters.

What’s even cooler is the fact starkiller was terrified of yoda due to him being so close to a dark side threshold and seemingly unaffected by it therefore representing how powerful a being yoda was.

I just love this game. Starkiller meeting Yoda are one of my favorite parts of the game.

I wish these would get a remaster

I love how yoda is just the connecting piece for so many characters. He’s like the omnipresent god of Star Wars he’s so damn wise and powerful with the force he just knows what every character needs to guide them in the direction they need to go in. Even if they don’t listen he’s still an excellent teacher.

Even though the Force Unleashed series wasn’t sought out as “amazing,” by Starwars Fans alike, you all can still agree it’s 100% better than the Skywalker Saga crap Disney tried to dish out, right?

No. It’s about equal. TFU was just made for 8-9 year olds and the only reason it’s liked more is because it was made while Lucas still owned Star Wars. If Disney made the exact same game now, people would hate it. The Disney stuff isn’t good but it’s not much worse than this.

Starkiller always had the most badass outfits

Little did he know he met the person who trained his mother and father (as youngings but still)

I remember this part of the game being an entire mission on Wii. You'd cross caverns with a mirror image of Starkiller, you'd see weird visions, fight Starkiller Hallucinations. But on other platforms this part of the game is just a small area with one hidden Holocron and a couple cutscenes. I wonder why the Wii version is different.

I played it on the wii and the ps3 I believe and your right u get completely different experiences but both are good

In the early phases of planning the first Star Wars film George Lucas considered naming his hero Luke Starkiller

One of my favorite moments/scenes in all of Star Wars media as a whole 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

This video cut scene has more story content and emotional impact than the whole of modern Disney Star Wars. It's like night and day.

that which you seek, inside, you will find. Yoda never meant Starkiller was going to find what he was looking inside of the cave but inside of himself.

Star killer should've been canon. He could've been a crowd favorite. He deserves his own series and a couple movie cameos and references

Two of the BEST Star Wars games EVER! I still go back and play them beginning to end. So damn good!

It triggers me how Starkiller's weird clones were "solid" but Juno wasn't.

Whoever wrote this completely nailed Yoda.

Sam as StarKiller is terrific! A movie of him would be awesome!

I'm convinced that Yoda somehow get people in that cave high on DMT as they enter. "Get down, do you?"

This was one of my favourite games as a kid, I must have played and clocked it 100 times

The biggest thing I dislike about him is his power level. Even for generic op video game protagonists he's too strong. Fallen Order nailed that balance. The Jedi Knight games did quite well in that regard too.

I don't think his power is that much. He was strong in the force and was trained by Darth Vader all his life. He still is somewhat below Vader. It's just that TFU games had exaggerated some aspects of Force using compared to movies.

The trapped starkillers in vines scared TF out of me when I was younger 🤣 they still spooky to this day
