I went into it not having read the books or seen any of the movies (I did years afterwards). Even if you just have a vague understanding of what harry potter is from pop culture, it's so fucking funny. They go way off of the actual characters and explain a lot of it so you don't actually have to know anything. It's some of their best tbh and what introduced me to Starkid!
honestly the only other scene i can think of that would go well in here is the one bit in tgwdlm where charlotte scream-sings and immediately gets shot by hidgens, who then, after getting yelled at by one of the characters "you shot charlotte!" goes "wrong. i shot a charlatan" it's easily my favorite part of the whole play

It's the only starkid show I haven't seen yet, only because I know nothing about star wars :(
Mmmm. I think show stopping number/workin boys is weirder in context. If you look at it without context, it just looks like a really dramatic musical (because musical theater). But with context... oh boy It’s a pitch for a musical a professor is pitching to two people he kidnapped (one being his old student) while a musical apocalypse is happening that he wants to happen.

Ducker flashed through the five stages of grief when Chorn told him there was no god I think. I'd like to think the mouse scene in AVPSY was completely improvised and was different for each performance.

I got into starkid in 2017, firebringer was my first acid trip. I actually didn’t know they made any other musicals until 2018 so I guess that’s technically when I fully got into starkid. But I have to say it’s the best mistake I’ve ever made.

Gilderoy the mouse prince is the best scene in all of theatrical history
Jeff’s scene in Twisted is so god damn good. No context necessary ever.
the plot development for gilderoy lockhart's dream is the thickest thing on the planet
I know Aladdins monologue is great, but the short story from the sultan cracks me up every single time, because that. was random. And I love it.
Chorn owns me
The Chorn reveal was so out of left field I'm still not entirely convinced that it happened
Chorn: "goodbye" Also Chorn: *stays the entire rest of the musical right through the final song*
I completely blocked the Dobby being revealed as Draco’s father bit out of my brain and my jaw just DROPPED

Normally I just love the comedic performances, but the acting during the Aladdin reflection bit was actually so good.
Look I love the whole Chorn plot twist. But who was the person who came up with that and what drug were they on that caused them to think of that.
jeff blim's performance as aladdin is literally one of the best acting performances there is.
The camera work in the Aladdin scene is PERFECT
