    Hi Rob, thanks for the comment. I saw the future and it looks good. I've ridden a fair few electric bikes from some of the bigger manufacturers and this one is a step change. An interesting fact for example is that Belgium had 60 mx tracks just 10 years ago - today they have 5 and thats trending....

    I will always love my 125 and my 450 but the stark would be amazing for tracks that have noise problems. Most of the tracks around Minnesota are closed and the private tracks you can't ride because of the noise. Wish I could have a stark for that reason alone.

    I'm really a big fan of your video. What is not to like about a bike that you never need to clean an air filter on, jet, rebuild a top-end on. That you don't have to spend a lot of time maintaining and that you can easily adjust the power delivery on and handles great, with suspension set-up for you from the factory? Oh, and it's quiet, which opens up many possibilities for riding that are not currently available. I think this is great and can't wait until mine is delivered. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want these things, which are all upgrades in my opinion. I will keep my 2 and 4 stroke bikes but I have a feeling this will be the one I ride most going forward.

    Hi Simon, thanks for your kind comments. In fact I had a long chat to their chief technical officer Paul about that. We'll be publishing the podcast very shortly, hopefully this week where we go into the step progression path from mx to enduro and beyond, dealer networks, battery cycles, resale values etc.

    hello rust sport, I have pre-ordered a stark varg with a rear brake on the handlebars. now I've got coldfeet and am considering changing to a foot brake instead. what kind of brake did you drive with and how did you experience it?

  • @RustMotoCollective

    @RustMotoCollective

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Markus, I wouldn't worry about the choice of a handbrake, the adaption from a foot brake took about 5-10 minutes and once I had adapted I'd choose the handbrake option now. If you've ever ridden a bicycle (which Im sure you have) it comes pretty naturally. Hope that helps.

    Wish i could afford to preorder one of those bad boys, im actually kind of excited for this new future. Let me break down my take. As you can see my profile picture it is my 2019 yz250f i love that machine but it takes a lot of effort to be a fast rider these days, i recently purchased a 1999 cr125 to sharpen my skills as a motocross rider, but it sounds like (after hearing many reviews of the varg) they have almost reinvented the wheel, if you can put in 30 minute motos effortlessly then that must mean the sport is going to make a huge turn IF everyone goes electric. What do i mean by this? Im excited to say that by my speculation everyone has claimed this new electric machine is much easier to ride than humans last motocross technology. meaning that now most racers should be on a much more even playing field, which leads me to my point, this might kill the whole training thing where you must be completely dedicated to racing for you to be able to compete, the level in our sport is too high because you must be in very good shape to be fast, now back to my point. This should make the sport much more talent based than training based.

  • @RustMotoCollective

    @RustMotoCollective

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Anthony, thanks so much for your comments. Honestly I can say that you will still have to be in relatively good shape to get the best out of the bike - like any sport it pays to be prepared. What I can say is that it is easier and safer to ride than any petrol bike I've ridden for many reasons. One is the lacking of having to battle inertia, two is that ability to immediately correct bike trajectory in the air without the risk of stalling and of course there is less to think about and less movement not having clutch and gears. That all leads to being less demanding on you. Its not enough though in my opinion to stop you having to be in good shape to get the best out of the bike.

    @@RustMotoCollective for sure, maybe i took it too far but if they are easier and safer to ride then the physically demanding part has to decrease some which was what im excited about, hours of fun without having to be so tired. Gonna run the battery dead and get stranded cause im so carried away ill check the time and realize how long ive ben riding and think to myself “wow I’ve probably never rode for that long by just freeriding”

    I dont think so. You still have to have balls to hit the jumps and I suspect just as fit if not more because the torque and change in riding still. no shifting and more on the riding and faster will for sure push the limit. I really want one because of the up keep is better, I dont have to rebuild the engine, change the oil, oil filter, shifter AND my KIDS can ride now who HATE the shifting which will open this sport up to ALOT more people and its FUN for the HWOLE Family especailly since I can drop it back to a 250 or 125 for Daughter and soon where I want a 500! he he that fast it can go.

    Loud sells, and it's been that way forever. What if quiet sold? What if all those decades of making our bikes louder, we modded our bikes to be quieter? What if they came from the showroom floor quiet and not 100db plus? And now we are where we are. After years of closing public lands and private riding areas, we are to the point of going electric with one of its main endorsements being sound, or the lack thereof. Odd, we could have prevented a considerable amount of our own demise in riding areas by simply riding a quiet bike. Now we turn to a completely different technology for the answer. People are still crying about the loss of 2strokes. They're never going to stop crying now.

  • @RustMotoCollective

    @RustMotoCollective

    Thanks for your comments, interesting perspective and certainly have plenty of truth to them. There are however a few other factors to consider in the advancement of electric powered machines. People just resist change and hanker after 'the heydays' but looking back in half a decade for the new kids that will ride these without reference to the good old days, it may be that they have the same feelings as we do towards 2 strokes. In the meantime we can count ourselves lucky since we get to ride them all. :)))

    If the claims are real, its a very good price. First the gas bikes come with a poor chain, you’ll usually have to buy a o-ring or x-ring chain but not on this one. You’ll also have to pay a lot to have the good spring rates for your weigh but not on this one. You also don’t need to add after market. Just that is a better value but after some hours, you are suppose to check your valves, timing chain, piston ring, clutch, oil change etc… So if even keep it 2 years, it is a much better price. The only thing i am waiting to be sure before giving them my money is if the battery can keep the 1h on mx track. By the way, they give you a 2 year warranty something that you can’t have on a dirtbike.

    @@twistedthrottle8513 yeah i understand but it’s ok, what’s good is it’s a new type of bikes for maybe different type of market. Some are on road bikes, some dirtbikes, some 2 strokes, some 4 strokes. As long as the sport can go on, we should all be happy having a new manufacturer. All gas dirtbikes are also too expensive now days. The first cellphones were too expensive, now you can have all price. There are other ebikes at a better price, but that one will have premium components. Don’t forget how much cost a factory edition. In canada 15000$+15% taxe, the varg is supposed to cost me 16250$ all taxes included.
