Phantom Himmel simply saying, "Frieren, shoot me", is really significant when you think about it. In Frieren's memories, Himmel was such a hero, that even as a phantom he takes action to vanquish himself. He is incorruptible, even in memory.

Everything has roots in something Himmel did. He was kind to Frieren, and she still remembers him vividly almost 80 years later. Heiter took in Fern because it's what Himmel would have done. Eisen tells Stark about his journeys and even includes "a fun and ridiculous journey". It's such a well crafted story.

just so we're all clear here, that was a fully fledged REAL ASS DRAGON, and Stark knocked it stone dead in about half a minute. the kid is a genuine beast when it comes to combat, he just has to realize it for himself. Eisen truly created a monster also, the only other "manhood" that Fern has ever really had the opportunity to see is Heiter's while bathing, so the fact that she thinks Stark is small either means Heiter was PACKING or Stark is just abysmally endowed LMAO

Even illusion of Himmel acted like a hero. He wouldn't play her, he wouldn't hurt her, he'd do what's right.

This entire new journey for Frieren is like you taking the weekend off to try to figure out what you did on that bender you don't have any memory of.

Despite Himmel being gone seeing all these flashback made him one of my favorite characters of Frieren. It's amazing how the author uses Himmel despite being dead.

This series is so good at storytelling. With the ghosts of the dead monster, Himmel is such a hero that even his memory in Frieren’s mind maintained his unwavering self sacrifice. That’s really cool, but the real storytelling comes in with how much Frieren went overboard. The usually unflappable and reserved Frieren who knows exactly how much mama is needed to do the job just casually blows half a forest away. She did NOT like Himmel image and her memories of him being used. It’s a ten second exchange, but days so much more than most exposition dumps.

Yup, I liked that too, the fact that Frieren expected her master, and she did not liked one bit that the monster used Himmel instead of Flamme, blasting the image silently, but conveying through her power that she went mad for a second there.

I was going to say this the first time I saw it appear on your channel, but I am so so so happy you finally started Frieren lol, was looking forward to your reactions, Fern and Stark's relationship is probably one of my favorite dynamics of this series lol

Stark is so precious, I am sure you will love him even more as the story progresses

Fun note that someone pointed out; The dragon didn't get woken up by Fern's magic attack. It was woken up by the rocks falling on and around it.

This show encapsulates the human experience so well. It hits the loss, the growth, getting older, young people coming up and everything in between. This show has been really special

You mentioned earlier that the music reminded you of Violet Evergarden. Evan Call did both series, so it's a good comparison

I love that Fern says they should use Frieren's name at locations to get a pass but she absolutely hates it lol. Exhibit A - the ending of the last ep in this vid. Love Stark and Fern lol and you're right that two people around the same age definitely help the group dynamic. The "30 secs" for Stark was kinda funny. I like seeing him be pushed to his limit. He's a true badass when he wants to be.

Jamie all there character names are German words. Stark means strong in German and frieren means freezing. Japan and Germany hast a great Bond together. Also in Spy X Family they Used a German Situation with the DDR.

First of all, I don't understand English, so I'm sorry if my English is a little weird. Ms.Jami UwU, I love your reaction. I'm glad you enjoyed this anime. It's one of the best anime I've ever seen. I also like that it's not a combat-only anime like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba or Jujutsu Kaisen. This is an anime that is difficult to find fault with. However, there are also anime originals that are not in the original manga. I think the reason for anime originals is that the original work is solid. I also think that the anime became a good anime because everyone involved in the production of the anime respected the original author. I don't know if you're reading this message, but I'll write down the Japanese pronunciation of the characters' names. Frieren is Freelen. Flamme is Flanme. Himmel is Hinmel. Eisen is Aizen. Heiter is Haiter. Fern is Ferun. Stark is Shutaruku. I think these pronunciations are similar to Japanese. It's originally in German. I would appreciate it if you could use it as a reference.

These episodes are based on so many reversals. Your master hit you because he was disappointed, no he hit you because he was in awe. You can't relate to me but I owe a debt to my master, but you can relate to me because you owed a debt to your master. And so on. It's like it creates this void that sucks in your emotions.

I just realized, the new party and Himmel's party are both heading towards the Demon King's Castle, so Himmel's party walked through the forest too. I wonder what Heiter, Eisen and Himmel saw as illusions.

No Violet Evergarden was made by Kyoto Animation and Frieren is made by madhouse. But they both have the same music composer Evan Calls.
