Some of you have asked if this device can be used for stargazing. I wanted to show you this video of what it looks like on the recorded footage. In the AKASO Seemor device itself, since the screen is smaller, the resolution does look a bit better in person but you are in no way going to get a clear look of the stars at 2x, 4x, or 8x zoom options. 1x is the best for clarity and you have to go with a tripod. Any slight movement results in motion blur and if you pan across too quickly you will get a lot of tracer effect from the stars. That said, when looking with the naked eye, I could only see the main constellation stars, and somewhat dim at that on a cloudy night, but with the AKASO, you can see MANY many more stars, I had no idea there were so many that I could not see before. The effect is even greater with a clear sky. The full color mode also shows the clear differences in color of these stars, some blue, some yellow, and you can actually notice it with the device. My two cents are, stargazing with it is a cool secondary feature but not what it is primarily designed for. If you plan to only stargaze, invest in a telescope. Cheers!

When you say cloudy sky is that thick cloud or hazy cloud?

Hi David, We appreciate your support here! Your explanation of the AKASO Seemor is absolutely correct. When shooting with the AKASO Seemor, please keep it as still as possible. The full color mode also requires a low light environment. If anyone wants to see the exact effect they can also check out David's last Seemor video or our demo video. Note: Because of the KZread video settings, you can manually turn on 4K viewing for better results. If you have any other questions, please let us know.😉 David's last Seemor video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZparxtCphamZmLw.html AKASO's Demo Video Playlist: kzread.info/head/PLg3mYY-P_vrGViqGo6yJQJ1L_gcDD2Rbd With love, AKASO Team

Looking around Orion's belt (Men in Black II) I see stars down to magnitude 8, or slightly past (maybe 8.3?). Thanks for the video, as it shows similar sensitivity to another device I already have. However, I'd like to see something easily identified, like Orion here, on a clear night to learn what it can REALLY do.

Hey David. What kind of stars can you see with the naked eye in your part of Texas? I remember camping in the Catskill mountains in the 70's. The sky was PACKED with stars. I went back last summer on a road trip. I couldn't believe the development. Sub-divisions, strip malls, diners, gas stations. No more stars. The light pollution was just like Long Island.

Hey Kewrock! So I can see a lot of the major constellations, Ursa Major and Minor, Leo, Orion, and a few planets like Uranus, Venus and Neptune (at least on clear skies). I'm just outside of the city limits so my view on a clear night is a lot better than inside the city, but if I were further outside the limits it would be way better! That is cool about your camping trips back in the 70s, its crazy how much the light pollution can block right!?

Thanks a lot for this video, the amount of stars it sees is impressive. The motion blur is pretty pronounced though, is there a way to reduce this somehow?

You're very welcome, sorry it took so long for me to upload it. So the motion blur is pretty bad since there is not enough ambient light. The best thing is to install it on a tripod or gimbal that will reduce any hand motion and shake as much as possible.

Wow, this looks amazing! Does it have to be outside the city where there's less interference from city lights?

It is super cool! So this is just outside of city limits, and is no means far from the glare of the light pollution out here. But if it looks like this here I would imagine with there being so much more to see and more clearly out in the open areas away from town.

Just received mine. The level feature is way off level & the compass is not accurate. Its good for complete darkness. Doesn't work well in semi lit environment. Ir works great in semi darkness.

Can you attach it to a monitor so you can watch it remotely.

Kind of. There's an app for it, so you could tripod it and watch it on your phone, but IDK how far away you can be from the unit.
