I must say - I'm very impressed by how an ambush is going on around Apophis and he's just standing there as if this is just another day in the park. And before his shield is mentioned, he didn't actually activate it until Jack came up to try to capture him. That means he was standing there, just watching everything, without his shield and just being cool as a cucumber.

Apophis is smart enough also to know how to turn that shield against it's own user. Hand device (Kara'Kesh) can either shield the user or be used as an offensive weapon, but it can't do both at once, while person with a weapon can always attack and retreat. kzread.info/dash/bejne/omaC1s6en5mqc8Y.html

@@zone_Magazine_reporter Those were his 'Jaffa' though they were human because of the lack of symbiotes due to no Goa'uld Queen being around and since Ra is the 'father' of all the Egyptian gods he could use the representation of any god. I also think you mean Horus guard, not horse guard.

@IJN Yamato Yep Heru'ur was seen on foot in Season 2, Episode 6 'Thor's Chariot' and again in Season 2, Episode 9 'Secrets'.

What an incredible coincidence! For all the series, they were killed on the exact planet where Nox know how to revive!

You got to hand it to Apophis, when it comes down to it he was a pretty skilled warrior. And he probably commanded more respect from his men than most other goauld cuz he actually got his hands dirty, so to speak, and fought alongside them at times - and even wore armor like his men did, although a different color to denote his status.

Did Apophis just score a higher kill count against SG-1 than Anubis, the Replicators, and the Ori combined?

I think Anubis has 1 (although that was ascended Daniel so bonus point for ascended "kill") The replicators also got 1 (Daniel again) The Ori technically have 2 (4 if you count Vahla, but she was not a member of SG1 when she was burned and when they were stick on the time dilation field, 0 if you only count main continuity timeline deaths) Cronus also has to be a good contender with his kills against the robo SG1 Teams but if we are talking number of kills I think Baal defenitely wins

Say what you want about Apophis but the guy can fight, is tacticaly more sound than pretty much every other Goa'uld and I think he has a healthy respect for his enemies.

@AhsokaFanboy1138 Shame no one gives credit to Sokar, that guy amassed a powerful fleet all on his own, a fleet so big that he was ready to defeat all the system lords...plus his mothership which Apophis took over, and destroyed Heru'ur's ha'tak like it was nothing, plus the cloaked ha'taks, which not even Anubis managed to display, all of that without any ascended knowledge like Anubis had...

Lord Yu seems to be similar to Apophis. And rules his subjects with a bit more tact and kindness, for lack of better words... at least I hope he did. Shame we didn't get to see more of Lord Yu's domain.

Ahhh yes. The days when at least half of SG-1 still wore Kevlar helmets like the rest of the military.

Many of you do not understand that the helmet is also designed to protect the wearer’s head against shrapnel and blunt-force trauma, two things that the Guald are also capable of. Also, even today, the Kevlar helmet is still ineffective against rifle-caliber rounds that hit it directly, yet the military still wears it anyway. Why? Because it’s been proven to saves lives for everything else that one might encounter in a firefight (shrapnel, explosions, concussive force, glancing shots, etc.).

The one time Jaffa finally managed to kill SG-1 members...and it was when being close to the Nox who would revive them.

It wasnt even the Jaffa, it was Apophis himself that shot 3 of them. The Jaffa in this show were useless except for a small bunch of them.

I'm sure it's very close to the thing you are looking for in this reality as it is in my reality! I Must go out now. I'm OUT! Since we have seen a quantum mirror where everything else has happened to them that could have happened to them, this is the one reality where this exact situation happened to them.

I laughed my ass off when apophis shield came up and he had that trolly smile like got em and then proceeded to completely roll sg1.

Goa'uld shields are unable to stop "slow projectiles" like arrows or stones, they can only stop bullets and spear's blast. In the episode Apophis was protected by the Nox, and so without Apophis even knowing.

The one where the gang forgot to power up their plot armor...

This scene really shows the effectiveness of the staff weapon. Later on innthe show its described as inaccurate abd a weapon of intimidation. This scene clearly shows that in experienced hands, its a formidable weapon. Also, we can clearly see the difference between elite Jaffa guard and ordinary jaffa foot soldiers. Allotbof the jaffa SG1 encounter are ordinary foot soldiers with less skill snd experience. Here we see elite Jaffa guard, the best of the best. It shown in the show that jaffa who show exemplary skill and courage join the elite guard where they come under the mentorship of the First prime. Teal'c served as an elite guard for several decades under the mentorship of Bra'tak before being nominated by him as the first prime. We can clearly see the skill level of elite Jaffa here, Shakel (trained by Teal'c) reacts to the ambush immediately. The other elite guards quickly react too and take advantage of the surrounding area for cover fire with one quickly handing his staff weapon to Aphophis. It's a bit disappointing that the Jaffa are reduced to SG1's cannon fodder later in the show, it would have been good yo show more elite Jaffa warriors able to be a much more formidable threat to the Tauri in battle.

Apophis is too classy for these Tau'ri.

They didn't miss, the Jaffa were simply armored. THIS fight is why they switched to armor piercing bullets as standard ordinance no matter the mission.

Depends on your speakers. I think his audio was handled on a separate audio track or with audio settings that are no longer used. Old laptop speakers allowed me to hear him just fine. Plugging new speakers into the same 2010 laptop, however, yielded no audio.

They were looking to improve their cloaking technology. It wasn't until when apophis obtained Sokar 's fleet that the goauld could cloak an entire fleet - until then, they could only cloak a cargo ship.
