Not only did they add an extra L to Jack's last name, but they also gave his son a different first name. In the series it was Charlie. In the movie it was Tyler.

Love Stargate so much. I think Universe gets too much hate. Sure it was a bit of a change for me too, but after about 4 or 5 episodes, Universe finally started to pick up and I loved where it was going. Hopefully one day we can catch up with the Destiny and see what's going on. Great series from start to finish for me.

It's great to see you covering Stargate! I'd love for a spin-off GateCulture channel in the future. A couple of extra things I was going to say are as follows. From what I recall, the original version of the pilot showed one of the Jaffa warriors who attacked the SGC early on was a woman. The show later made a point that Jaffa women aren't normally treated like warriors and are more subservient. It wasn't until much later in the ten years that the team came across a group of Jaffa women who were actually warriors (led by Jolene Blalock from "Star Trek Enterprise"). Also, in the Final Cut version, Christopher Judge re-recorded ALL of his Teal'c lines as he'd originally sounded a lot different in the original version of the pilot. Finally, regarding the "funnel" on the rear of the gate, they did actually later use that in the Season 2 episode "A Matter of Time", when the gate accidentally gets stuck connected to another gate inside a black hole. I also think they brought it back in the online movie "Stargate Origins".

O'Neil and O'Neill are the same people but from mirror universes, similar back stories except their children had different names, and they had differing personalities, their universes are pretty much identical up to that one choice when surnames were invented and their ancestor had to decide upon one L or two. At least that's my head canon.

All the respect for Don S Davis, his portrayal of Hammond honestly may be one of the saving graces of the show. He took an otherwise forgettable military general and made him feel more like the show's grandpa. He is still the boss, he is still a military man but he is also a human being that cares deeply about the people under his command and the integrity of that command. General Hammond would be a lot less interesting if he was just as scheming and hard brass as the rest of the generals on the show.

The ramp leading up is angled, the vortex never exceeds the radial boundaries of the gate itself, in other words - it doesn't grow 'thiccer'. The best way to move is on your feet, bikes needs gasoline and would be a waste of money/resources to ditch the entire bike _when_ it ran out of fuel.

While Vaitiare Bandera is really good looking, whether clothed or naked, that nude scene was completely unnecessary. I don't have a problem seeing girls naked, but I wish they would only do so when it has a point. Pointless sex scenes also bug me. And why is it always girls who end up nude? While I'm not interested in seeing a naked guy, that's not true for all and they almost never end up that way. Emilia Clarke once said in an interview she wished Game of Thrones was more 'equal opportunity' with it's nudity. I agree.

I have seen the "Children of the Gods" episode, and I believe the reason that Apophis has Sha're stripped nude was to see her body, and determine whether she would be a desirable "host". Apparently she did, since the symbiote or whatever that was, checked her out, and entered her. You do have point though, in that the full monty scene wasn't really necessary for audiences to see.
