Not sure if it counts as a tip or exploit but it feels like one. Build an outpost that has a landing pad with ship builder. Do all your upgrading and building there as, depending on your level and progress, you'll have almost all parts available. You can also strip parts from ships, as you suggested. I strip ships down to the bare minimum needed to exit the screen then sell whats left. All the parts you stripped will be in the pad's inventory to use later. Once you've built up a chunk of credits from parts you've bought, sell ships to the pad to get it all back. It probably doesn't save any money, but it _feels_ like you're buying and selling to and from yourself. It can also save some time flying from vendor to vendor if you have multiple ships to sell.

You can board enemy ship while other enemies are around. You get thrown out of targeting mode if you get hit tho thats the difficulty of stealing multiple ships at same time. Other than that you can board and take all ships that have attacked you my top score is 5 stolen ships in one battle Best way to steal ships is to build or modify your ship for this purpose with not to powerful weapons and to have suppressor weapons too.

Ran into the problem where the ship vendors have run out of money and can not be stocked. It would seem i'm not the only person running into this on the PC.

Try this... go to Venus and sleep for a full 24 hours Venus time which is 2400 hrs UT time, then go back to your vendor. That is how I reset my ship vendors when needed.

I had this issue on Xbox. The venders first went to 0. Then some time later they had only 72,000k which isn’t enough for almost any ship I had to turn in. I had full lvls on everything including commerce. They never had more then 72 so there was no point in stealing ships to sell. I’d also sleep 5x in a row at Venus and they never went passed 72. I started a new game today. There was so many glitches on the first game.

Go to Venus and sleep, you only need to sleep 6hour = 600h UT to reset all ship vendor except Stroud at Neon

tip#1b don't ever pay to register a ship you are going to sell. sell them for full price without registering
