Not going to lie I'd have dropped the game immediately if it was like NMS or elite dangerous. You have to change planets so much it would make it 95% travel. That would be the worst thing they could have done. The way it works is perfect. You have to ask yourself are you one of the very few players who committed to never using fast travel in TES or Fallout? (Also an option here). Everyone says they did. But in reality that makes for a boring game most of the time

​@RuTube981 it's a design choice, games with maps often lack what feels like natural exploration BGS games don't have this problem as much, and if we look at Skyrim the one thing it did best was the sense of immersion with exploring Big reason why it has that legendary reputation When games have maps, it just feels like the map is guiding you to what you want to find Rather than the own players curiosity, or just stumbling on something and being surprised by your discovery. It's way more dynamic this way

This might be a hot take, but people should stop treating a game's worth based on the mods it has or might have. Seriously, if the main focus of a game is on its mods, then it just means that the base game is lacking.

When all the smoke was set and cleared IGN review was one of the true honest ones.

It's the lack of map for ease of navigation around habited cities so you can find the right vendor easier is the most infuriating thing.

this game so far for me: open journal to choose mission -> open map to teleport -> fetch the item or kill the target -> go back to map and teleport again, more loading screens than bullets got out of my gun

Ive sunk 30 hours into this game and still have not found the fun. Exploration is so booring. It´s more about doing simple missions like "go kill that" or "go talk to that person" At least the story is decent. But don´t play this if want an open world experience is my recomendation. Althou if you spending time in menues and loading screens this is a great game.

This old engine makes Starfield feel like a mod. 6/10 game honestly, everything is so mid and lazy. They have not improved since Skyrim in 2011.

For once, this IGN 7/10 was actually valid

7/10 is a generous score tbh

After reading most of the reviews for this game, I'm getting the sense that this game is so massive that experiences can vary wildly. Ik u can say that about a lot of open world rpgs, but it seems to apply especially to starfield.

Yeah after playing the game for 2 days now… it’s not a 7. This same guy gave the outer worlds 8.5 out of ten. It’s pretty obvious some bias is going on here.

2015 game 2015 graphics Loading screens kills it. Loading screens every time when travelling, when lifting up ship - it's a cutscene, not fpv. When opening some doors - loading screen.

Even Honest trailers agreed it was a 7.

no one mentions that when you land on a planet you get a tiny square to explore and that is it....invisible walls greet you if you go "too far"....and you will see the EXACT same points of interest/caves/outposts on several different planets in different solar systems with literally zero changes several times in just your first 10-15 hours of gameplay, not even different skins on the enemies, it's THE EXACT SAME. This game is a lie....if any part of your gameplay was going to be "exploring" dont buy it. Oh and that doesn't even begin to describe the bugs. 3/10

I'm excited to play it eventually but it doesn't look like its strong enough to pull me away from BG3

Exactly. Because its Bethesda, it gets a pass. This game is overrated, look at the character design and faces and compare it to Baldur's Gate. One has some detailed and immersive facial expressions, while Starfield is just stiff, stiff, stiff plastic.
