1 probe vs. 2.4B zerg

This was incredible to watch. Both a clever and elegant solution to use nexuses as offensive shields. I wish I had found your channel sooner, it is so hard to find a skillful player who does not inundate their walkthroughs with commentary. I look forward to seeing the rest of your videos.

+Andrew Wright I hope you wont be disappointed haha I actually look around and find a few good walkthroughs. However, like you said, they are hard to find because they are very unpopular channels (like 10-100 subs) and, of course, they are non-comentary. Almost all walkthroughs on popular channels are horrible imo. They keep saying in their walkthroughs that the missions are easy while the only thing they do is make a bunch of dragoons and a-move them to the enemy, like no micro whatsoever. They dont even hotkey their units... (no offense to them, just what I observe so far)

Hot damn. This is beautiful! Biggest turkey shoot in the galaxy is here, not what Tychus said on Char. And this definitely shows more death that the final wings toss mission.

nice tactics! i just finished getting anvil of will achievement (on hard mode) with 2.208 billion. so close :') i used annihilators to dish out high dps against those guardians and air hybrid thingies and all the other har to kill stuff. i only used cannons to shield my khaydarins, barely held out long enough for achievement :p im glad i did it on my own before looking on youtube how others do it :p this is clearly a better take on it though

+Mortophobe I tried the annihilators once. It didnt work for me though since my macro is a bit slow and I kept forgetting to use them to shoot down the guardians xD. Glad to hear it works for you

Finally a mission that seems to be somewhat "involved." The others so far have only taken 10-15 minutes.

@@MasterKD that was pretty crazy! Tho I am certain you could have done somewhat better than him, as his success was having a superb strategy. He hardly had to micro anything. I think your micro-king skills are better than his.

Banelings are too powerful in this battle.

Woo. That was a lot of zerg and protoss make defend like wall of shield.

Ah... so after trying Shakuras as soon as I got the Spear of Adun, found it almost impossible to beat it (managed to finish it with only zealot and dragoons + turrets!). Temple activated with 90 hp left, so after finishing it and NOT being able to get the bonus, came to see "how people do it" then realized that picking Shakuras first wasn't a wise decision... Let's see how I do now, going to Korhal first....

+TheRabbitFear I finished shakuras first. Used small turets front then bateries then big cannons. I got 1.8 bilion and finished it. Maybe because I was playing at normal.

How do you get those upgrades for this mission? Do you have to finish the campaign first before goign back to the mission? I only had a handful of lance upgrades and no immortals for this one. And though I managed it relatively easily on Brutal for the 3 main achievements, the 2.6 even on hard was, well hard enough to be impossible (got to 2.16 billion zergs at some point)

Before I recorded this mission, I decided to finish Glacius first to get extra solarite, then went to Shakuras after that

so fucking badass

Wait, I'm a little confused. The mission briefing always said not to let the temple be destroyed... but it clearly ran either out of health or so close to it that I couldn't tell. So... can you let it be destroyed after a certain mark? It looked like it but... I couldn't say.

I guess "Dont get overwhelmed before holding out at least 1 billion zerg" would have been a more correct way to state the objective

Is this achievement impossible without the archives? I've literally only seen people get this achievement through the archives

is there any other purpose to destroying the zenith stones other than finishing the mission? i just wanna get the achivement and make it as easy as possible? is there gonna be more ennemies than usual if i don't destroy the stones

i just got the achivement without destroying the stone i guess the stones are just for finishing the mission, thanks for showing how to do it with nexuses that made everythi9ng SOO much easier

I think by "base turret" you mean the Nexus Overcharge? If so, the Khaydarin Monolith deal more damage, but it only does 1 shot per 3 sec, while the Nexus shoots much faster. Also the Nexus has more HP, so it does a better job at buying time

ok. That leaves me a little confused because when I watched your walkthough of the purifier missions, you had dark templar. Sorry to be a bother I just feel like I'm missing something. Your methods are brilliant and I want to follow as best I can.

Well, usually in my walkthrough, only the A videos follow the "right" order when I named my videos' mission numbers. The other B, C... videos may require you to go different routes to get more techs/units in order to do those strategies

I went to shakuras first :( any way to do this using just time warps and chrono surges?

I'm not sure :( It's possible to reach 1.8 billion with just that, but it seems like you will need the nexus charge for 2.2 bil

I managed it finally on my third try :) with the tech mentioned. Went for 5 gates and spammed teleporting DT's until I had 20. Sniped the crystals early and defended with the DT's mainly. Then I spammed the strong turrets and batteries nearly everywhere always keeping my gas at nearly zero. Building more strong turrets vs spamming cannons and batteries did the trick for me. I still had cannons but it was a neraly 1:1 ratio which is insane :) The strong turrets hold much better once you reach a critical mass and supported by about 2 batteries each. Much less micro intensive as well since they require less rebuilding. I overloaded the temple at 1.502 I would have lasted probably until 1600 ish. I should have gotten more gates and massed stalkers for the guardian waves. With Solar Lance who knows I may have even gotten 1800 with this strategy. I'm now set all the way to Rakshir mission probably. those teleporting DT's are seriously OP and have long been a staple of mine :) your videos are amazing they really are an inspiration showing it is possible to own a mission on brutal not just survive it.

this is a very discombobulated playlist O_o in the last video orbital assimilator was unlocked, and in this one, you have a purified unit as an available option and no orbital assimilator x_x

+Phyrex If you use the master archive, you will be able to access all possible units as if you take the longest route (i.e visiting all other planets before the current one). This mission is one of the hardest ones in the campaign, so I figure that I should use all resources I have to last as long as possible :P

haha the mission brings back the old memory of mine when I was still playing the first star craft the mission where you have to defend the xel naga temple against the zerg swarm too is it just me or blizzard is adding some of the older parts of the starcraft to this legacy of the void? LOLS

What i wld do is spawn some zealots and some dts to kill the small lings and bling

In this walkthrough, I actually loaded an previous saved file, went to Glacius first, then went to Shakuras. You will need to do the same to get enough solarites

nope. the master archive will just give you the exact amount of solarites you got when you played this mission for the first time

+TheSlick44y The melee warrior choice doesnt really matter. I only need two of them at the beginning of the mission to hold off one attack. At this point I still like the stun effect though

The nexus thing doesn't do so much damage...But I guess it worked

Their purpose is to "TANK" the incoming damage from the Zerg since Nexus has the largest HP + Shield in the game. Imagine if you put Photon Cannons up on front, it will only get stomped by those Ultralisks.

@@DarkRedZane Also, it negates one of the stronger parts of the hybrid/ultralisk attaacks: the cleave. if you had cannons, not only would they die quickly, they would kill several at once. With nexii, they can only hit one!

I guess it's a bit weaker, but you should be fine to play on medium texture

You have to wonder what happened to the Uraj and Khalis that would allowed the Dark Templars to regularly wipe out the Zergs (and the Hybrids due to being part Zerg) off the planet. And let them have a chance to destroy the Warp Conduit to Aiur. HOW THE FUCK DID YOU LOOSE THOSE CRYSTALS YOU IDIOTS? And Blizzard never gave an explanation.

i think Sentinels are better
