This is probably the most frustrating story in this series. There wasn't a harsh deadline, someone with their one head up their ass in charge, or a team of bureaucratic dorks loading the game down with nonsense features from a focus group. Its simply because there was no real leadership. The lead dev should have been given the reins but Blizzard wasn't willing to for understandable reasons and now over a decade later we have to ask what happun

Agreed, this one is more tragic because this one had everything going for it. A talented and passionate team of devs, plenty of time and resources, and an actively engaged and competent publisher. Everything except for a cohesive vision from a leader at the top. The lack of one head visionary lead to the lose of what could have been an excellent game.

@@isabellamorris7902 Well, they were at least actively engaged and excited about the project. It's just that when WoW became a cultural phenomenon, they (at least somewhat) understandably shifted all of their focus to that. By the time they finally found a sturdy direction for the game, there really wasn't any point for them financially to put the game out. Aside from them maybe giving too many varying directives to the team in the sake of chasing trends, Blizzard gave the dev team as much time and resources as they needed. It was all just too little too late, unfortunately. 😔

SSB:Melee, Metroid Prime, Double Dash, Wind Waker, Eternal Darkness, FZero GX, Pokemon Colosseum/XD, Pikmin and Paper Mario come to mind immediately and I'm sure I'm missing plenty out. And some of those are my favourites of their respective franchises. Hell, I even enjoyed Star Fox Adventures and Kirby's Air Ride. Edit: just had a look on Wikipedia. Fucking Rogue Squadron! How the hell did I forget them!? Some of the most fun I've had with Star Wars on console.

To just be told "Nevermind, it's all for nothing, we're getting rid of it" is just absolutely heartbreaking. I really do hope he managed to find something better. Not that anything would be worth something like that, but just something to give him hope again.

I still remember coming across info about Starcraft Ghost on a school trip to the Library in 6th or 7th grade. I was browsing gaming websites on the public library computers with a 56k modem and suddenly saw an ad for Starcraft Ghost. I loved Starcraft and Brood War to DEATH back then and I can still remember turning to one of my friends and going like, "YO LOOK AT THIS! LOOK AT HER OUTFIT MAN!" God I remember hormones... I'll gladly take being 30 and having everything in your body decaying rather than growing than have to experience puberty again Fucking Blizzard though. Who the hell could ever have predicted the mess of a company that they've turned into. They produced some of the BEST RTS and RPG games EVER in the late 90's/early 00's.

Some suggestions: -Action 52 - An attempt at a multi-game pack for the NES with 52 games done by four inexperienced programmers and no bug-testing done what-so-ever. The game developer's owner was an overly ambitious guy who wanted to make one of the games on the cartridge, Cheetahmen, into his company's mascot and create a media franchise aimed at appealing to children. -Doom's 3DO port - All done by a single programmer contracted to do the port in 10 weeks by a game developer with no experience in game porting. -E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial and Pac-Man for Atari 2600 - Rushed ports that had a hand to play in the 1983 Video Game Crash. -Simpsons: Hit and Run - Outside of troubled game development, makers of the game were sued by Sega claiming they ripped off game mechanics used in Crazy Taxi. -Dinosaur Planet/ Starfox Adventures - Could do one or the other. Regardless, Dino Planet was originally planned to be an N64 game. But then got retooled into a Starfox game for the Gamecube under Nintendo's orders. Nintendo's meddling in the game's development got bad enough where Rare decided to ditch them and become a developer for Microsoft. -Tattoo Assassins - Data East's attempt at a Mortal Kombat clone had a troubled-enough production as such where the game was never officially released.

Obviously you got other games on the backlog, but would it be possible Sonic Chronicles would be a option? Otherwise, keep up your good work, and I can't wait to watch more of your videos~!
