I agree with you that the sculpted robe look that came with the 5POA figure a few years ago is a much better look. That figure’s face is also better than this TVC release. This one feels overdone with that big cheesy grin…😬. The only thing this accomplishes is another nice TVC card back figure for mint-on-card collectors. I’ll open one and use it to zap my TVC Luke, but for me the 3-yr old 5POA Emperor is still better.

I have a tip for you. If you have the Forcelink Emperor Palpatine, his head fits perfectly on this figure. And the skin tone matches the hands better.

I think the face color should be more White just saying. Great figure though. Definitely a Home run. It just seems more of a revenge of a Sith mold. Awesome review.

Love the animation part. Reminds me of The Lazy Eyebrow. Great review mate

Great review. I actually tried and got him to sit on the POTF2 throne, but he just slightly fits. I wish he would had come with that other interchangeable head that’s going to be included with the upcoming Emperor’s Throne Room. I did see on Facebook that the Target exclusive Emperor head from the Solo line does fit on this figure, but haven’t tried it yet. That could be a solution to not having to get the throne room because it’s a high price to pay for some accessories I may already have. Thanks for your review.

Great review!!! I just picked this figure up. I also was able to get the throne room version which is great, overall I think the forcelink Emperor is my favourite! He’s just sculpted so well and the hands are far superior imo. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I prefer them, because they're lighter and more flexible than plastic, making the figures easier to balance and pose.

Question for you: does this new TVC Palpatine work with the POTF 2 chair?

Mine is buried behind a bunch of figures so I can’t check to be sure but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

Great review! Thank you! Were you able to order the Emperor's Throne Room set? Same basic figure, but instead of the snarl, he's got a smug, oily smile. So far, they haven't made a single DEFINITIVE Emperor figure, in my book. As you say, this one's skin tone is all wrong, and the soft goods -- which I normally like -- are too bulky. The best thing they could do is take this mould, use the skin tone and the torc/clasp from the Emperor that came with the Legacy Collection Crimson Empire Crucible multi-pack, and the soft goods outer robe from the Episode I Sith Speeder version of Darth Maul.

I did get an order placed for the Throne Room Set. I wish it wasn’t limited to one because I like doubles to keep one in the packaging but what are you going to do. Did you order one or are you skipping it?

@@toyshelfreview Yeah, I ordered one, mate. Display-wise, it's a nifty window and a nifty throne that I didn't have to raggedly cut off a Cinema Scene base. Probably going to repaint the Emperor and see if I can do a cloak-swap on him, though.

I wonder, why the skin tone on his hands and face? It would be pale or white creepy color, looks weird and not accurate this figure in my view, i like the face expression but the skin color ruins the figure i think, its a figure for repaint, it take so long to came this carded figure its dissapointing. I enjoy your content best regards from México City! 😉👍
