Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Re-Review (Part 1 of 1) - PARODY

Ойын-сауық

DISCLAIMER: This is a parody, first and foremost, with some little tidbits of educational information here and there, which is far more than RLM has ever given when reviewing the Prequels.
Hello! Kaiser, here! I was too lazy to make a video, so...I got Plinkett to make one for me! ...Of course, he just assumed I'd pay him to do it, which...I obviously won't.

I don't know what you're about overall....but I always appreciate somebody having the balls to knock RLM and their creepily obsessive fandom down a peg. Because boy oh boy...are their fanbase pathetic. They treat the opinion of a bunch of pasty, jaded, cynical film school drop outs like gospel. And it's just...sad. RLM has just repeated the same joke for almost 20 years and equally irony-poisoned and performatively jaded dweebs like them keep clapping like seals. I've never been much of a PT fan. And I did go through a period where I pretty much hated them. I've softened on them greatly over the years. Still don't love them, but can appreciate aspects of them. And even when I was at my height of disliking the PT I found the Plinkett videos to be very narrow-minded and lacking in broader understanding of filmmaking language and intent.

A person who dislikes the Prequels but is willing to be civil about it? Say it ain't so! But, seriously, I respect your opinion man. You can absolutely dislike the Prequels. My channel is mostly about gaming content, but I figured I'd make a video like this because it is something I wanted to make for a while but never really got around to it.

We’ll be watching your career with great interest (srsly man, this was great, proves that the problem with Plinkett reviews wasn’t the style or format, but that Mike Stoklasa was an idiot lol)

coming back from the 25th anniversary screening, i enjoyed it but i have no problem people hating them, i just don't care for the huge gigantic backlash phenomenon behind specific entertainment series, i've remember all the criticism directed about darth maul not having enough screentime, maul appears 9 times on screen, i see the hardcore prequel haters as poor, and ungrateful rural americans

You can absolutely dislike the Prequels, for sure. Just don't overexaggerate or lie to express your discontent with someone else's work. I don't feel that's too much to ask, honestly. Edit: This isn't to imply YOU do that, it's just something that kinda gets under my skin. Disliking something doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad, it just means it isn't your cup of tea, ya know?

What's funny is that people praise the Plinkett review as something god sent, but when you point out the bad takes and strawman arguments; it becomes a parody and should not be taken seriously. Plinkett is out of touch and seriously needs to read books that are older then him.

The Plinkett reviews are peak "poorly aged jaded millennial bitching about nerd shit" as you can get. Plinkett and the whole RLM schtick just feels...tired. They're whole thing is the kind feels forever stuck in the early-mid 2000s. They're ground zero for the influx of mediocre nerds with mediocre takes gaining ground on YT and, god help me, becoming taste makers to a whole generation. RLM is when nitpicking, rage reviewing, and "plot hole" obsession took over from more intelligent and informed film discourse. Fuck RLM.
