Star Wars: The Clone Wars Movie - Caravan Of Garbage

Ойын-сауық

WOW. Our journey through the Star Wars Prequels continues with what is somehow considered the worst one. Acting as an introduction to a new animated series George Lucas requested the smooshing together of four episodes and making this whole thing a cinematic release. Aiming to expand on the very much skipped over Clone Wars we briefly saw in Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith it ended up being an incredible piece of storytelling mixing action and character development in ways we don't often see. Eventually. This isn't very good. Thanks for listening to our Caravan Of Garbage review!

Just comparing the Clone War clips in this video, the CG version looks much, much better than the very flat-looking, unshaded cell animation version. Truthfully, I've always thought assigning an apprentice (and/or some sort of youngling teacher job) to Anakin was the smartest thing the Jedi could do for him. He clearly has a deep-seated propensity for attachment -- let him use that compassion as an advantage, to protect and connect with and oversee the younger Jedi. ...of course the Jedi later screw over Ahsoka, which pushes Anakin further away from them so I guess the Jedi were just always destined to blow it.

I’ve always thought that the version of Anakin from this animated series is the best version from the entire prequel era. In the movies he’s just a whiney annoying brat, it makes no sense for anyone to give him any kind of responsibility or to entrust him with a weapon because he’s obviously a lunatic. In this version he is much nicer and seems more responsible but also does do dark things occasionally (like literally stabbing people in the back a lot). It’s much more tragic to see this nice(ish) guy turn into Darth Vader than it is to see the whiney immature lunatic turn into Darth Vader. Similarly with the emperor. In the movies he’s so obviously evil all the time that one started to question whether the Jedi even have brain. It’s quite hard to believe that anyone with a brain wouldn’t immediately go “oh this guy is obviously the Sith Lord” as soon as they met him. Whereas in the animated series his disguise is much more plausible. Having said all that. I still haven’t managed to get through the entire series because so many of the episodes are really boring, and so many other are just pointless filler. Same

This movie has a very interesting and weird production. The show started being made in 2005 and was intended to be released on FOX, however they were unwilling to pick up the show. Upon Dave Filoni finishing the pilot episodes (which he directed) George Lucas viewed the footage and thought it looked so good it had to be seen on the big screen. But because those episodes were unable to make feature lenght, they had to throw in another completely unrelated episode (that Filoni also directed) and animate new sections to fill in the gaps. On top of that, Lucas had a bunch of bizarre production notes, including the one about making Ziro the Hutt sound like Truman Capote. Hence the surreal final product.

I liked this movie a lot when it came out -- it was a fun adventure about getting some hyperspace routes or something that didn't ruin itself by reaching too high and trying to be anything more than it was. Seeing Asajj Ventress onscreen after years of reading about her in the Expanded Universe was great, and it was really the first time that we got to see Anakin be the hero we had always been told that he was. His characterization felt perfect as the dashing adventurer who had a couple of dark moments and whose most glaring fault was that he truly wanted to save everyone. I'd rank it higher than any of the prequels (not that they're a difficult bar to clear).

I'll never forget a guy came into work and said he watched this movie. He said, "It was good, but I was a little disappointed it was a cartoon" I couldn't imagine someone paying to go to the movies and not knowing if he was going to be watching live action or animation. The only thing that topped that was once I was working at a factory and the Flash TV show (in the 1980s) had just started. And this guy came into work and said, "I don't really think that actor outran that rocket"

just do more of this show. go through the big arcs in each season, like malevolance, Ryloth Arc, Cade bane stuff (especially holocron heist), geonosis (skip the precursor episode), mandalore stuff, Zilo beast, Night sisters, I can't remember if you guys did Mortis or not, The citadel arc, Ahsoka on Trandosha, Mon Cala arc, All of Umbara (my favorite arc), Zyggerian arc, Obi Wan: bounty hunter, Ventress stuff then maul stuff, Onderon arc, Ahsoka and Padawans, droid mission, Maul and savage adventures on Mandalore, Ahsoka betrayed, Conspiracy, Banking Clan, and finally Yoda's journey to the Nexus of the galaxy. Boom, each one of those would serve a fine quick Caravan of Garbage.

I’m sure there are already tons of comments demanding that you cover the season 4 Umbara arc, but it’s definitely worth a watch and works really well as a standalone story. Also, the season 6 inhibitor chip arc, which imo is one of the most compelling stories the show has to offer

I watched this twice in theaters when I was 10. The first time I saw it, I remember seeing a trailer which I thought was for the movie I was about to watch, but in actuality turned out to be for the TV show, and I was confused when Anakin and Ahsoka didn’t get into a Y wing (which is from the third Episode of the first season). The second time I saw it with a friend, the audio cut out during the first 10 minutes of the movie and I had to do all the dialogue for my friend. Think i did an ok job to be honest lol.
