I find it so funny because of the one line Anakin said in episode 3 about him being shorter than expected meant that they could not encounter in the clone wars. They did anything to make sure of it in the clone wars because it wouldn’t of made sense it episode 3

@@derrickstorm6976 the astroid field probably put a heavy strain on the shields if they even made it once they got out. They also probably put all the shield power torwards the front while going through the astroids too which is likely why Rex and his group instantly did damage from behind.

Grievous should've yelled 'ITS A TRAP!!' just for good time sake

Wasn’t about revealing the flank, it was about drawing them into range of the flank (and the main guns), leading to a swift and decisive blow, in which they took out all cis vessels present with minimal losses

This was actually the second episode they produced. The first was the Battle of Teth part of the Clone Wars movie. Which probably explains why it looks pretty bad.

+Hypnos Stratagem Assuming you're referring to Rebels, I'm pretty sure they toned down the damage in that show for the sake of plot Rebels is more of a kids show and therefore there isn't as much brutal action. If that scene had taken place in The Clone Wars, the AT-TE would've ripped right through it and vice versa

Yes. I am talking about the part from Rebels. They must have toned down the damage for some ludicrous reason. I do not think that it is because of the violence. The AT-AT walkers were soon brutally destroyed using neck shots in the next scene.

Actually, the reason AT-AT's were impervious to the ATTE's fire was because it had extremely think armour and deflector shields. Grievous ordered the deflector shields to be rerouted to the front of his flagship. In this case his rear flank was unprotected. ATTE's can easily rip through his flagship when it has no shields.

Desmond Ng That is possible. It should be noted that the AT-TE uses a rail gun that would propel even degraded shells at very high speeds. I do not think that the destructive power of the AT-TE main gun lies with the shells as much as the gun itself.

Well…with their bottoms exposed…so technically the Venators would be “below” them from their perspective

grievous put all power to the front shields, leaving the aft and belly completely unprotected. The republic cruisers did not fire because their accuracy is somewhat questionable and they may have hit their own outflanking party. The AT-TE could fire on the completely unprotected hull (a ship without shields is as vulnerable as a TIE).

3:43 pause. Look how cheesy that astroid looks. It looks like it wasn't fully animated or something.

CordlessJet Not really. Venator star destroyers arent made to be mobile fortresses like star destroyers are. Their main points of use is reconnasaince, troop deployment, and fire support. A munificent class is 300 meters shorter in length than a venator and has plenty of firepower. If six of them start volleying on one vsd, it will go down. Its turbolasers after all

More than the animation, I feel like the music improved so much. sometimes we got these beats in the early season that I liked but didnt feel distinctly star wars and sometimes made me feel like I was in another property. They are so good with the music now that I almost dont notice but when I do im really enjoying it

3:03 that line had me shouting for joy when I first watched this at 10 years old when the episode had just recently came out. I was able to forget about order 66 completely during this moment as I saw how it was meant to be. Anakin, Ahsoka, Rex, and the other clones all united to be my heroes.

It would have been really funny and awkward if the droids had a better look at the asteroids and saw the walkers rotating slowly and out of range, like the ones in the background 3:43

‘Far larger than anything they are designed to fight’ The weaponry is generally the same as a ship, and take the ISD for example, it isn’t structurally stable enough to actually land, almost not even hover in atmosphere A tank killing a zeppelin, just because it’s big, doesn’t mean it’s strong

To be fair, AT-TEs were originally a mining tool, used in the exact same method as they were in this episode for mining aesteroids. In a way, it's kind of like returning to form, or home in a way. It's what they were originally built to do.

Greivous planned well, but got too cocky, he shot of reconed the asteroid field before entering.

Ummm... three ships don't make a fleet as far as I am aware. Its more like a patrol in my opinion.

Love how this shows off the power of the AT-TE and how versatile it is and why it’s my favorite Clone Wars vehicle

You know, this is the only time Anakin fights Grievous. And he lost...

Why are the ships starts falling when they got hit? (3:18) Shouldn't they just keep moving until another force does not acts on it? (physics?) I know there is the planet's gravity the they are far enough from that. You know guys: An object that is in motion will not change its velocity unless a force acts upon it.

Even though season 1 was kinda kiddy and weak, I really enjoyed some of the tactics they showed the armies using. Anakin using the AT-TEs to outflank the Separatist ships in an asteroid field is frankly brilliant.

Imagine if there weren't any AT-TEs involved. This battle might have gone differently, since Grievous had the upperhand from the beginning. Still not sure why he didn't fire all the turbolasers and just the heavy ones, since six Munificents together are powerful enough to take out a single Venator

It appears ship shielding is non existent in this episode, I've seen it other times throughout the Clone Wars series. Grievous literally says "Divert power to the forward shields" lol and then Anakin just blows up the bridges of the Separatist Frigates. 🤦‍♂️

they're notoriously under armored in canon. In fact, the only place they actually have any specialized armor is in the bow. AT-TE's got shots at the underbelly and wings of the ship, which are much less armored, and have many of the batteries of the ship (causing chain reactions)
