Dang, same here. I always wanted it but I was a kid so no money. I eventually bought by stealing money from my mom lol.

The flying part is only 2 minutes and 20 seconds long but is one of my favorite segments in the game.

playing hours of this game non-stop when i was about 10 is the reason why flying in battlefront is so easy...it all makes sense now

More games with flight levels need the energy and overall feel this game had. The skies need to be filled with ships and bullets I think.

I played a demo of this before I saw any Star Wars films. I wanted to start out with Empire and have zero regrets. Still my favorite movie scene and favorite video game moment

If they ever do a remake of this game I would love it they had the snow speeder level from Rouge 2 just go directly into the 2nd part of this level, defending the transports.

man they somehow just made this game spectacular. I havent seen or played this game in YEARS and watching this now im so surprised it still sounds amazing, intense, and even aged wonderfully. Its about time they should make a new one!

crappybumbum Sadly Factor 5 went bankrupt after Rebel Strike. I could live without a sequel, what I want is someone to work on the DogFighting multiplayer levels with a bunch of players, nit just 1v1s.

I like how it's the same map as in Rogue Leader.

The scripted battle actions and events when fighting on the ground were very engaging for the linear gameplay you're put in. Always enjoyed that,.

Factor 5 did a suburb job with this game. Just watching it after not having played it in well over a decade plus is making me dizzy with excitement! Wish there was a newer Star Wars Game as good as this one was now!

There's a lot of great Star Wars games: Republic Commando, Rogue Squadron series, Empire at War and Forces of Corruption expansion, Battlefront II, KotOR 1 and 2, Jedi Knight and Dark Forces series, etc.

This was the golden era for Star Wars games.

I always hated this mission as a child, it felt impossible to beat when it came to protecting the transport ships honestly.

Luke always looked like he was made of clay in these levels.

this part of the campaign is when lukes story fell apart after raltir it just shifts gears to the hoth scene from empire strikes back it is like they ran out of ideas to continue the story so they just decided well lets just reenact scenes from the movie tada our story is complete

+Empire13Gaming Yes they do! And that's exactly the point! That and you only have limited amount of proton torpedoes that can kill them in one shot. And when you do use blaster cannons on them, they scatter! And when you're busy shooting down one group of TIE Bombers, there's another group already shooting at the Rebel transports.

+99thJediWarrior You're doing it wrong. The groups scatter when you take out the leader (the top one IIRC). Attack the wingmen first, then the leader. They won't scatter at all then (same for all TIE formations).

Rebel Strike is generally better, it also has multiplayer and co-op using the second games campaign, much more worth it imo.

i could not do well on this level without the homing proton torpedos (from one of the early levels when you are in an at-st)

TIE Interceptors at the Battle of Hoth? Talk about overkill. However if memory serves they weren’t invented by the Empire (or George Lucas himself for that matter) until the events of Episode VI.

Old comment I know but whatever. Converters/adapters aren't going to ever improve the quality, it'll make the connection compatible to use for HDMI but nothing else. Sounds like you're trying to use AV cables which is the problem. Those things are total garbage. The best quality the GC cables can provide is through its component cables (stupid expensive though) or through hardmod methods to use digital HDMI instead. A vWii softmod and Nintendont on a Wii U also brings good results. Hell even S-Video or Wii component cables are decent. Anything is better than the standard analog AV cables the GC comes with. Obviously through all of this it'll still be 480p and have jaggies if that's what you're concerned about. The point is that the image output will be digital and crisp with more clarity, it'll look essentially HD in everything but actual resolution.

I'm so excited for the Star Wars Battlefront reboot. Can you imagine what they can do for the battle of Hoth?

IIRC Factor 5 said in an interview once that from a technical standpoint porting to the Xbox was mostly possible, but PS2 would've required a lot of downgrading which makes sense. Xbox could brute force many effects and all the high number of polygons and such easily. PS2 not so much, in order to achieve stuff like the self-shadowing effect you'd have to do a new technique utilizing PS2 specific components which isn't reasonably possible unless if it was an exclusive for the system.

what a shame the design approach for this game was hindered by constantly changing you out of the a particular vehicle or by on foot. The game is absolutely flippin gorgeous but the experience ruined by constantly interrupting your enjoyment of the flying parts and it's a real shame
