Ahsoka broke open the right side of his mask, Obi-Wan broke open the left side. Both couldn't bring Anakin back, but Luke was able to completely take his mask off, bringing him back to the light. Very poetic.

Because the returned Anakin asked his son to take off Vader's mask. He finally accepted who he still was, after all that time, all the evil deeds and all the suffering. "I have to save you." "You already have."

Same, this series showed not only how a spiritually broken Obi-Wan after the events of Revenge of the Sith became the wise, and overall optimistic Old Ben Kenobi of the OT, but also how Darth Vader went from the angry and impulse young Sith Lord still actively chasing the ghosts of Anakin Skywalker's past in a lust for revenge to the cold and calculating "master of evil" he was in the OT. He still wanted to find Kenobi as seen in Rebels when he discovered Ahsoka was alive and mentions the possibility she might be able to help him find Obi-Wan, but it seemed more that he was thinking "if it happens it happens but if not then no matter, I have more important things to deal with for my master and the Empire", especially once active Rebel factions started popping up around the galaxy.

That or they had a checklist of things they needed to have and that theme was one of them but they also wanted to use more of the original soundtrack that they composed for the show but yeah sure we can go with your take I guess

Loved the parallel between Obi-Wan’s “Then my friend is truly dead” with Luke’s line from ROTJ. Also, Vader’s scream… 1.) Holy Shit, 2.) Hayden wasn’t kidding when he said this Vader was as brutal and even angrier than in Rogue One.

I love the progression from Anakin's impulsiveness to Vader's calmness. Especially I love during the period between Episodes 3 and 4 an impulsive Vader which is fucking scary

I couldn't help but tear up when Kenobi slashed Vader at the back, the scream of pain and agony which I interpreted as echoes of what he felt both emotionally and physically. The tone of struggle, helplessness and how pathetic he is in that tone is just...wow

The way they morphed the voice over from Hayden to James Earl Jones (anakin to vader) was sooo brilliant! What a scene!

What a final battle between Obi wan and Vader and the "I'm sorry" followed by "I'm not your failure obi wan" 😭

I'd like to think somewhere deep inside that was Anakin's way of telling Obi-Wan that it wasn't his fault, and to give him closure that his padawan truly was dead.

I think that line is dropped in as an easter egg of sorts to prove that there is still good in him. It's so compassionate of Anakin/Vader to tell Obi-Wan that its not his fault that he turned out the way he did. What's even sadder is that we now know that it was the Jedi that had the power to heal the dying all along. By giving their life force to another as Ray and Ben do in episode nine Anakin's folly is fully revealed.

Vader used Earthquake! It’s not very effective… Obi-Wan used Rock-Throw! It’s super-effective!!

Well, it's Obi show and yep he has to win in order to make 'A New Hope' canon.

I honestly love seeing force users using their environments to their advantage. Utilising all the stalagmites around obi wan and vader as projectiles was really well done and i really hope to see more of that kinda thing in the future

I loved the little parallel between Vader's _"You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did."_ and Obi-Wan teliing Luke in Episode IV, _"[Vader] betrayed and murdered your father."_

As twisted as it was, it was heartwarming that Anakin told Obi Wan that everything that happened to Anakin was of his own doing and Obi Wan is not in fault. In a way Obi Wan feels relived of it but also saddened that Anakin is gone and only Vader remains.

I was fortunate enough to be born in the mid 70s. So I've experienced the Star wars universe in it's infantcy. The Vader vs Obi-wan duel brought me to tears. Not because of the fight which albeit was top notch, but because I knew all the nuances between the two characters. the turmoil of Obi-wan, having to fight boy he practically raised, and finally come to terms with the fact that the darkside has completely taken him, that there was no saving him. For us long time Star Wars fans, this was a gut wrenching moment.

Twice Obi-Wan has let Vader live due to his love for who he used to be. That has to burn Vader more than anything else and for me adds to their duel on the Death Star. Also in all there encounters Vader could never sense from Obi-Wan that he was hiding the truth about his Children. This only goes to show how powerful a Jedi Kenobi was.

The biggest reason why I loved the final exchange between Anakin and Obi-Wan was because you can see how emotional Obi-Wan is hearing Anakin's voice for the first time since Revenge of the Sith. "I am not your failure, Obi-Wan" Excuse me I need to curl up and cry in a corner after all that.

That Vader with a broken mask scene was peak Star Wars. Hearing Hayden mixed with the great James Earl Jones was fantastic. This show was far from perfect for me, but this finale was amazing.

Vader is Anakin's Jailor. He keeps torturing him and causing him pain, forcing him to live with himself. I think Vader came at Obi Wan because he can't imagine defeat, but maybe Anakin pushes forward because he wants to die. It's so painful seeing Vader just wipe Anakin away and say 'I did'. I like to think that was Anakin absolving Obi Wan of any guilt, and Vader saw an opportunity to claim it for himself. Such a good moment, I'll hold it up high with the best moments.

You can also see the conflict in his eyes cause he has Anakins eyes at the start when the helmet gets destroyed and not the Sith eyes he had at the end of Revenge

I'm so unbelievably happy that qui gon showed up, I literally cried seeing him. I was almost convinced that he wasn't going to show up but I've never been so happy to be wrong. One for the Irish folk!! 😁

I just watched all your reactions to Obi-Wan back to back and I'm really happy that you enjoyed the show so much. I've watched a lot of your reactions from Mando to Bad Batch to Boba and it's always nice to see genuine love for Star Wars after having to see all the negativity and nit picking on social media. Some of it might be warranted, but some people just go a little too far, so I get extra happy when I see people feel so passionately about these stories. My favorite moments of the shows were the Reva/Vader fight, and obviously this whole fight and the parallels to the Ahsoka fight. I also really loved the "I am what you made me" line because it's so cool but also so heartbreaking. Also, I guess I'd be fine with a Reva show, but I feel like the easiest thing to do would be to put her in Jedi Survivor since I heard them say that that game is also 10 years after RotS so I think Reva meeting up with Cal and Cere could be a good next step for her character. Anyways thanks again for your reactions, I'm looking forward to Andor because the trailer made me much more interested now 😄

This episode made me so sad for Owen and Beru's death but at same time so happy at the historical casting by George's casting of them

The "Goodbye... Darth." is so clever : it covers a plot hole in "A New Hope", when Obi-Wan called Vader "Darth" ; it was planned to be his firstname back then but was changed in the next movie! :D

Tbf I don't even think it's a plot hole. You can easily just say he was using the title not saying the name , not giving the name recognition

I think the reason Reva went after Luke was because she knew Obi-Wan was protecting him and because she felt like because he “failed to protect” her and her friends it would be “justice” for this boy Kenobi was trying to protect to die like her friends did. There’s nothing in the message from Bail to suggest any hint of parentage only that Obi-Wan was trying to keep “the boy” safe.

Between Kenobi and Mandalorian finales they are really bringing the emotional side of Star Wars to the front. I know some would just call it fan service but they are doing such a good job with it and really making those moments mean something.

Most intense and emotional finale, especially the battle between Vader and Obi Wan. Pararells between the exposed cracked helmet with Ahsoka and Obi Wan. Chills! Also we finally get Qui-Gonn!! Hoping for season 2!

I so loved this episode so many happy moments and moments where I screamed like crazy there were so many memories as a kid, so sad to see obi wan sad seeing that his former padawan had given himself to the dark side , loved you reaction also the best keep it up 💯 💯

Honestly that Obi-wan vs Vader duel maybe in my top 5 for the entire franchise. Hayden and Ewan really gave it their all! Obi-wan thought their no redeeming him. Ahsoka was willing to die before leaving him again. But in the end it was Luke who finally brought Vader back to the light. I like that little progression. It make perfect sense too as they represented the past which Vader heavily resents while Luke is the future.

This episode was a real-life analogy to old friends parting for the last time. Really hit home for a lot of fans :( I shared your tears when he called him Darth... :(

This episode is 10 out of 10 for me. Worth to wait. That "Hello there", Qui-Gon, Palps and Obi Vader dialog like in rebels. Amazing!

My favourite bit of this episode was the fight between Reva and the Lars's. I wasn't expecting it, and it was nice to see them hold their own against her, at least long enough for Luke to escape. I also really liked the moment between Obi-Wan and Reva; to me that had the right amount of emotion and impact, without overdoing it.

I can honestly say that my 2 favorite duels ever are in this show, Reeva/Vader and this one are just incredible. The brutality of both was just off the chart compared to other fights with light sabers, it felt visceral and real most of the time (except a few dance moves but I can forgive that as they looked nice).

Hello there! Loved this show and the finale was outstanding. The little actress playing Leia was just great. Yes, the Vader Obi battle was the highlight, but the Qui-Gon appearance had me almost jump out of my seat. Also loved the "Obi Won" scream and the way the voice switched from Vader to Anakin and back again. Great episode.

hey louise, i just loved the way they blended the voices of hayden and james together, with them slipping over the top of each other. one syllable pure james earl jones, the next syllable mr christensen. beautiful.

I couldn't help but yell "FINALLY!" when the Imperial March played! Also, seeing Anakin's face behind the Vader mask will always go hard.

I’m sorry anakin, for all of it. That part nearly broke me. Best episode finale on tv. So many great parts. But the pain he carried around over “all of it”, seemed released when he said “I killed him”. Loved the goodbye Darth, letting him know he was now over it.

And how about that Rebel badass Aunt Beru!!! Louise, your SW reaction vids are the BEST! (And Obi-Wan called him - as a put down - “Darth.”) This episode was epic and phenomenal in all aspects of tying up series’ loose ends and dovetailing 100% canonical.

It was so epic to see Obi Wan do that lightsaber combat starting pose in live action! We've seen it so often during Clone Wars when probably the only other time in live action was before the Grievous fight.

I love how this duel seems like a reflection of Vader's duel with Ahsoka later.

Usually when ever I watch what ever new star wars content comes out, you're my first go-to reaction channel. I was worried to not find yours right away today, but here we are. And again it was well worth the wait! I just love how emotional you always become. Thank you once more for sharing your enthusiasm with all true Star Wars fans! My favorite bit in this one definitely was Obi Wan channeling his inner Satele Shan hammering Vader with rocks, just like she did with Malgus! And I actually got teary eyed when he told Leia what character traits she inherited from both her parents...

I think it's beautiful how Ashoka broke his mask on the right side and Obi wan broke the left side and both of them brought Anakin back to the surface just for a second then Vader took back over. But Luke took the entire helmet off when Anakin came back to the light.

I was expecting to see a final Darth vs Obi fight, but for me the icing on the cake was finally seeing the ISD Devastator in all her glory! That was a treat.

I love Star Wars too, but I think I love your reactions more. This was AWESOME! I had to wait until I could see the episode for myself. Well worth the wait. That is a gorgeous tattoo.

When Vader says **"I am not your failure"** , his face is covered in blue light as if Anakin Is accepting the apology from Obi wan . Then his face turns red , when Vader returns with darkness . This was so symbolising in a way that even though He's Darth Vader there's is still some Anakin left in him only those who really know him can take out .(Another instance Ashoka ) and Finally Master Qwai Gon for 5secs after two and a half decades Overally what a great short series which greatly connects the events , also keeping the characters comically accurate . I will be not mad or sad if we don't get a season 2 .

A thing which occured to me as to how humiliating it must've been to Vader that Obi-Wan didn't kill him - AGAIN. The same way he left Reva to succumb to her wounds after toying with her with no effort, the same way Obi-Wan left him there with his suit damaged and him barely able to walk (at least this is how he sees it, I think). He was once again defeated by his master and left to live with the shame.

"He did the line!" Yeah you're going to see a lot of that lol...

You are absolutely one of the best You-Tubers I watch @LouiseJulie! Totally love your reactions and so happy you returned from COVID-19! Keep it going! I am a diehard Star Wars fan too! I think they blew the perfect opportunity for Vader to say the line back to Obi-wan, " I have the high ground". I kept going, "SAY IT!! SAY IT!! Bummer.

We got one of the single greatest duels in Star Wars history, with some of the best sword fighting choreography ever and such incredible and creative uses of The Force from both Vader and Kenobi at their absolute prime. AND on top of that we we also had one of the most emotionally powerful moments in Star Wars of Obi-Wan and Vader talking and Obi-Wan finally coming to terms with the fact that Anakin wasn’t his failure but that Vader destroyed Anakin on his own.😭😭👏🏽👏🏽 Also they could’ve ended it with Ewan McGregor saying “HELLO THERE” with absolute perfection, but they also FINALLY gave us Qui-Gon Jinn!!!

I love watching your reactions but seeing you LITERALLY STOP BREATHING when Vader's helmet got cut was the best. Your love for Star Wars is always adorable!

What amazes me is that we saw how powerful Obi Wan can be in live action, how despite abandoning the force for 10 years, he was still able to come back more powerful than ever. The fact that instead of using his more Defensive form (which Kenobi prefers), we saw him switch to a more Aggressive form which was very much like Anakin's and even used Anakin's signature saber spin to his advantage to show Darth who truly is the master. I also loved when Kenobi used the force to hurl continuous rocks at Vader & Vader force breaks the ground, very much like Force Unleashed/ Old Republic style of force play. I both lost my mind watching the duel, but also i cried afterwards at the heartbreak & realisation in Kenobi's face 💔 love your reactions as always!

That intense chasing scene music from TESB, the Imperial March, Leia's theme, and the Force theme, were used so well. And the sounds of Vader's shuttle landing were the same sounds as some of the ships from the end scenes of RotS.

After showing their relationship and bond in this series, when Leia says “Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.” in the first film, it gives it more weight, and when he sacrifices himself to Vader, one of the last things he sees is Luke and Leia together, and escaping.

When I saw this episode, I knew there would be bouncing involved for your reaction vid. Kind of expected it sooner, but Qui Gon turning up is definitely bounce worthy.

Hi Louise! This was the reaction I was looking for! I was looking forward to seeing your sweet smile again! Sorry to hear about the health issues. And that is one rad tattoo on your leg! Anyway, about this last episode, the only thing I wanted to see at the end, but didn't get, was I think it would've been cool if Obi Wan offered to train Reva to become a jedi. And it would make sense that she would have to abandon her sith lightsaber, because for one to truly become a jedi, one must make their own lightsaber (for their training to become "complete"). But him not training Reva, makes me wonder if she'll cross paths with another jedi and will be trained by that person. Ahsoka, perhaps???

One of the things I really applaud this series for is i was constantly nervous for obi wan and Leia even tho I know they will make it out fine

This was the greatest lightsaber duel in all of Star Wars. The fight choreography, the cinematograpghy, and, the INCREDIBLE, super emotional performances from McGregor & Christensen.

"Goodbye... Darth." Duuuddeeee 😭 That really adds cadence though for ROTJ: "He's more machine now, than man. Twisted and evil."

SO many callbacks in this one, but my fav might be Obi-Wan's "So my friend is truly dead" / Luke "So my father is truly dead."

I knew this episode would give you all the feels.

Obi-wan is now my favorite Earthbender ❤

Minor plot point but can we just talk about how Owen & Beru armed up and defended the galaxy's best hope? That sweet old couple we see in A New Hope who would've ever guessed they once took on an Inquisitor?!

Hello there! I definitely cried all the times you cried. First off, yes -- fantastic lightsaber and force fight. As a Rebels fan, the parallels and contrasts with Twilight of the Apprentice were richly rewarding. Specifically, Ahsoka seeking to avenge Anakin's death, while Obi-Wan left Vader defeated but alive -- because "Revenge is not the Jedi way." That was beautiful consistency for me. And this was the perfect use of the music we've been waiting for -- and some we weren't. All the greatest hits were here, and happening at just the right peaks to topple our emotions over and out into the open. Leia's theme, backing yet another amazing scene between the two They are _strongly_ hinting at more Obi-Wan story to tell. "Come on! We've got a ways to go." Well LET'S GET GOING THEN! I'll hold out hope for an Obi-Wan+Qui-Gon force training a la Yoda in TCW season 6 mini-series. 🙏🙏🙏
