You didn't mention Treek! She was an Ewok in the Old Republic Era. She encountered a starship that crashed on Endor. She waited until night and slaughtered them. Then she forced the droid to teach her about piloting the ship. She ended up on Nar Shadaa. Oh! And, she wields a Bowcaster! Best Ewok ever.

Fairly certain that is a called a dwarf wookie. An ewok does not have the cognitive functions to be able to pilot a ship. Outragous!!! *Said in the most posh and dismissive tone possible*** Also... is that true... because if it is, that is adorably terrifying.

Every time i see Ewoks I am reminded that in the first draft, Endor was supposed to be Kashyk. Alas finding enough extras the size of peter mayhew in LA to show us Chewies people fighting back wasnt possible. But a troupe of circus midgits were in town. Sooo that meant Wookies became Ewoks. And then Rewriting the whole second act for the rebel shenanigans in befriending the ewoks instead of liberating chewies people and taking down the shield generator.

Can you do a factions episode on the northern and southern mustafarians? I would love that.

Whenever people watch the celebration scene on the planet, I am always amazed at how people watching are smiling and thinking its all cute. I mean... did you see the drums were made out of Stormtrooper helmets? Where is the rest of the Stormtrooper?!? Let's not forget the guy playing the drums is using bones.

The fact that the empire didn’t equip their troops with thermal imaging is a real George Lucas oversight, imagine some AT-STs with thermals blowing up groups of tightly packed Ewoks waiting in ambush

A primitive force like the ewoks probably wouldn't bunch up like that when ambushing. American Indians used to spread out and make it seem like there was more of them when attacking colonists, to great effect.

You forget...Ewoks are furry...any damp Ewok or wet Ewok or Ewok dipped in viscous mud is going to be nigh invisible to thermal imagery...

What I wonder is how exceptional are Ewoks like Peekpa and how rare are they? Not only did she learn to understand basic and how to be a slicer, and all the mathematics associated with that, she was good enough to get a job with New Republic Intelligences cyberwarfare division in only 3 to 5 years.

I'm pretty sure Wicket spoke basic in "Ewoks: Battle For Endor", though maybe that is not considered cannon anymore.

'Therapy Ewoks' is the single greatest idea in this franchise-

Farming will make a great difference to Ewoks and their impact on the galaxy. _Hunting is a great limitation on food supply_ and the numbers that can be sustained, besides it's time consuming, risky and unreliable. But if instead of hunting Ewoks, *they* were farmed in large heards then the supply of Ewok meat could be greatly increased, and they could go from a rare delicacy that has to be sourced by intrepid hunters to a staple that is available on demand. Suitable planets could be cleared and forested, to be used to farm Ewoks, after all free range Ewok is better than factory farmed. Although with Kowakian Monkey Lizard factory farming is the best option, as making the annoying little bastards miserable is worth it just on general principles.

I'm a fan of culture Ewok steaks. Ewok meat factories, "culture vats(?)", can be rapidly and nearly infinitely scaleable. The Rebellion needs to capture the next Death Star and convert into an Ewok meat factory and Ewok meat food truck. Just a little marketing could make this take-off. Call it guilt-free Ewok burgers. Or cruelty-free Ewok steaks. Or it could backfire. Maybe the galaxy's people have convinced themselves that Ewoks taste really good as a pretext to slaughtering as many of those annoying self-righteous Ewoks as possible.

One speculates...as a carnivore,(which I am) are the young Ewoks more tender or are the old Ewoks more flavorful? If one could manipulate Ewok culture to the point you suggest, a sustainable harvest of elderly Ewoks self reporting to euthanasia facilities as an "end of life" ritual, could provide economic support to encourage optimum Ewok breeding population expansion....and like chickens...Ewoks would take over the galaxy...soon being seen in significant populations EVERYWHERE...imported because they are tasty....but then...THEY ARE SENTIENT! and the next thing you know.. the Great Ewok Hegemony is Come!

Dark Horse comic series " Dark Empire," where they brought the Emperor back as a clone. In the comic on the Battle of Imperial Center, there was a few Ewoke heavy gun infantry units. In the New Jedi Order, 25 years after the ABY. there is a Jedi ewoke.

Oddly enough, I don't think George Lucas actually approved of the notion of Ewoks becoming Jedi.

Interesting that Endor has 85% the gravity of Earth. The short, thick bodies of Ewoks would suggest that they come from a high gravity planet, compared to Earth.

Strength ability to construct complicated traps (with 1000's of pound logs,outside of a garrison of troops. With out being detected.

Wicket was able to learn whatever language Cindel and her family spoke, but I have no idea if those tv films are considered part of the timeline or if it's just a stand alone nowadays.

I remember in the Novel, Wraith Squadron, Wes Janson played a joke on Wedge by telling him that one of the pilot candidates for the squadron was an Ewok, Wedge was like "How does he reach the controls of an X-Wing?" LOL

Last time I was this early on a video the old Republic still had sith fighting it and there was no rule of 2!

How would the Shadows from Babylon 5 fair in the Star Wars Expanded Universe galaxy during the era of the Clone Wars? What would they do and how would their war turn out?

Good video. Love this series. Here is a neat what if?. Suppose Some astro- mech droids like R 2-D 2 were more like Daleks with living beings inside them. Consider the late Kenny Baker actually was operating R-2. Also in the Clone wars. A small Jedi general was put inside a droid. Some of the odd behavior and communications from a few of the little droids suggests an intelligent operator. Imagine to stay alive; some people were put into machines with full support systems. all is needed is a recharge from time to time.

That said, despite it not being canon, I think you might be onto something there with regard to some droids actually being life-support units for smaller sentient beings. R2-D2, in particular, exhibits characteristics that go beyond simple programming.

Ewoks in mech suits would be indistinguishable from Murderbots.

If hunting Ewoks wear a *gold* lajme suit and the little buggers will all bow down and praise you - while you line up your autofire blaster. Repulsor lift boots are also a good idea, it completes the charade and are just useful for getting around the canopy and avoiding some of the other ground based lifeforms. Hmm _blaster fried Ewok,_ sometimes the simple recipes are the best, and Ewoks should be seared to keep in the juices - blasters are ideal for that. You can overdo it with Porgs and Kowakian Monkey Lizards as well, just a simple roast with a few herbs at most. Let the flavour of the meat do the talking, not some fancy garnish.

You say they haven't really figured out agriculture but in Caravan of Courage Shodu is shown in the background caring for a couple of goats and their whole house has a big pen for livestock behind it. They absolutely have agriculture

The Ewoks have a place in my heart. Skytree wood rivals Wosheer Wood. Family and community are key to knowing the Ewoks.

No..no.. I wrote a short story where Luke Skywalker saves a ewok running in the street from the fancy upper crust restaurant that had accidently let him escape his cage before the people who preordered the meal arrived... so theres atleast one story with it.... whether its officially recognized or not is another matter, fyi Luke buys him and warns them anymore will just be taken for violating dubious laws on eating sentient creatures and brings him to surprise Wedge and the rest of Rogue Squadron with as a surprise

Hi, Alan. I haven't said much recently, but I appreciate you guys' work there. :)

It was the Teutoburg forest for the Stormtroopers. By the way, anthropologist Mark Dyble did a study of an Indigenous group in the Philippines came to the conclusion that hunter-gathers worked on average 20 hours a week, while agriculturalists spend 30 hours a week working. Hunter-gatherers were shown to have more leisure time than farmers. This has been assumed today to extend to hunter-gatherers across the globe sparking the question "if farming was more laborious, and early farming society's health suffered, why the move to agriculture to begin with?"

You may think they're adorable, but the things I've seen...there's nothing adorable about that....

I have actually read studies that have suggested that hunter gatherer societies did not work more or expend more energy than agricultural ones. Some even claim the opposite, that hunter gatherers had even more freetime than today. Of course, I can't remember what these studies were called, but some googling should solve that, if anyone is interested. :)

Of all the vile Xenos I do respect on some level the Ewoks, at least more than the Gungans, the Ewoks are a practical warrior society unlike the decedent Gungans. In war I truely believe the Ewoks would defeat the Gungans, seeing as with some Rebel help they defeated an Imperial ground force whilst the Gungans nearly lost to an army of B1 - batthle droids. Like the Wookies Ewoks can be made pets, whereas the Wookies are like St.Bernards the Ewoks are like Terriers, so long as they are trained well enough they can make excellent pets.

In my head canon, Wookiees and Ewoks are genetically related species, and Kashyyyk and Endor are in neighboring star systems. This would explain their physical and cultural similarities. BTW, I've never had a problem with the Ewoks. It seems like people just dislike them because they're adorable. No one would have a problem with ROTJ if it had featured technologically primitive Wookiees instead of Ewoks, even though both scenarios (i.e. primitive species defeating the Empire) are equally plausible IMHO.
