You know the feeling about something which is kind of too epic as a child and you can hardly even talk about it, and everytime you think about it you'll get butterflies in your stomach. Ewoks did that to me and especially this episode. Asha was one of my childhood crushes 😢
Asha is best Ewok. just walks in to the camp and frees everyone.
This was actually really good. Quality writing by Paul Dini.
I wish we saw more of Asha I love her character
A lot of Ewoks seem to wear blue cloaks.
Awesome. Thank you so much for uploading this. This probably my favourite episode of the full series.
2:20 to 3:20 - A strange encounter between two different kinds of beastmasters. And yeah, Asha is easily my second favourite Ewok.
I live in india and the Star Wars Vintage Collection has not been released yet here and I was really excited and looking forward for it to come and I was really disappointed when it didn’t come.....
LOVE the homage to Elfquest's Wolfriders in this one.
Fun fact, Asha's voice is a young Rarity.

However, it is NOT The Same Voice Actor.

@@YourLocalGummiBearsFan Indeed so! She goes back a while it seems. I think she was only a kid when she did this.
Asha is awesome!
Asha is so badass
Asha - the Princess Mononoke ewok from Star Wars: Ewoks (1985) 😆
I remember renting this from Blockbuster, on a 2-sided DVD. With the red ring on the label facing up, it would play this episode. There was another on the other side, but I don’t remember which one it was. I do, remember, however, that Chirpa said “THIS is how to put out a fire” or something like that.
Thanks for uploading these! It has been years since I was able to watch Ewoks and I missed getting the (poor) release on DVD of a number of these episodes in the middle 2000s. This episode was always my favourite, and the one I most remember.
I have to say one thing that struck me when I first saw this episode back when it was new. It was the first time I ever heard the word "died" in a cartoon.

+kubkins Why? Kids need to learn about death. She's probably seen worse on the news.

+kubkins Are you serious!?
THE NAMES OF EWOKS ARE INTERESTING. I ALWAYS WONDER WHAT THEIR NAMES MEAN? LIKE ASHA?
Don't mess with Asha 😂😂😂😂
Hours after I watched this, I realized it passes the Bechdel test.
8:35 oh boy… this is sad Here’s a sad fact about the woodcutter Ewok she mentions In Caravan Of Courage, he dies during the final battle against the Gorax, giving Mace(a human character in this movie) his axe, which Mace uses to deliver the final blow to the Gorax This movie also introduced Queen Izrina
21:30 tears
It's a kangagoat. Or a Goataroo.
I remember this...I was 8. How come the only thing I can remember clearly from my pre-adolescent days are cartoons, movies, songs and tv shows? I can only remember snips of things I've done...then again, I had 2 head injuries in 1st grade...
I Think 11:56- 12:08 is so funny and cute.
Let me get this straight. The ewoks "only hunt when there's nothing else to eat" and yet they tried to eat Luke, Han, and the others? Intelligent beings that met them no harm?

+Ricky Rehbein (1992andbeyond) I'm going to put that down to a mis-translation on C-3PO's part that got out of hand. They were very quick to stop looking at them as "dinner" and start looking at them as allies after all.

Tialakit That's a possibility. But I still don't find the idea of vegetarians automatically being the good guys as a likable cliche; it just makes you seem like a lowlife hunter hater.

Ricky Rehbein Actually I'm one of many kids who saw the Ewok cartoons and movies before I saw Star Wars and well it's hard to see the Ewoks actually eating anyone when the first time you saw them they were raising a pair of orphaned human kids. Things like that tend to color your perception of a species.

Tialakit Sure. But this episode is still blindly villainizing hunters even though the main characters themselves are hunters.

Ricky Rehbein Sounded more like they were villainizing trophy hunters to me. I distinctly heard the dewlocks talking about the Merimoo's horns instead of any sort of food value. Hunting for food and hunting for trophies are two VERY different things.
And she was never seen again. WHY!?!?!?

+Djinsin She appears in a new canon book, "Return of the Jedi: Beware the Power of the Dark Side", but she's called Asha Fahn. The author confirmed it's the same character. Also, if you watch the second season episodes closer, she has a couple of non-speaking roles.

I assume she continued living out in the forest but stayed in touch with her family.
Wait, Wicket had a sister? What happend to her exactly; did she die or did she leave the tribe for some other reason like marrying an ewok from another land? Did the show ever explain it?
Ewok are evil. So I'm torn on my beliefs lol
lot of snowflakes around here.
