KingofPotatoPeople the prequels despite their flaws were at least different for a different age in Star Wars. In Disney Star Wars I think they are terrified of having to create a different world in Star Wars by going to the past or something in the future so they are perpetually stuck in the same rut of Star Wars era.

Hey, Daniel, you may jaust be the only person who can answer this question: in Clone Wars, somewhere in the Clovis ark, we see Anakin's room in the temple and a starfighter model that looks like a wierd cross between Actis and Delta fighters that he has there. Is there any info about it at all? I never heard about any missing link between the two, so maybe it's based on a concept art for Actis? I highly suspect that it is just a throwaway model done for that one episode, but I figured if there is something to know about it, you would be the one to ask.

Just look at our cars, VW Golf, Porsche 911, Ford F-150, etc. they have all be revised and upgraded over the decades, so why would something as great as an X-wing not get the same treatment.

And most of Leia's fleet in TLJ with maybe the exception of the radius looks like OT ships that had crap kitbashed onto them. Ditto for the Sith Star Destroyers in TROTS. I do like the resurgence class and I dig the T-70. And while new, the Starfortress will remain one of the stupidest ideas for a space combat craft ever devised for Star Wars. I would be rather given a vac-suit, a bandolier of proton grenades, and told to float myself towards the fight than crew one of those death traps.

The cockpit and window design, the side panels, the twin blaster cannons, the trade off of shielding and lack of a hyper space generator for much better light weight design maneuverability and all out speed speed. This is the template, the blueprint for the Imperial Navy's flashship fighter, the iconic tie fighter. Such a beautiful ship.

lol right, the Tarkin Doctrine was literally the worst military decision ever, i mean besides the new republic deciding to demilitarize in the sequels. I mean can you imagine how fucked the rebels would of been if the Empire kept closer to the lesson learned in clone wars. Keeping clones instead of regular people, keeping many of the starships and vehicles from clone wars like the Venator which would of been a great support ship instead of worthless quezar and frigate ships the empire used. Also if they would of made more practical weapons of war and not weapons of terror like the death star. Like if Thrawns dream of the tie defender replacing the the regular tie. They would not loose great pilots to shitty starships shortcomings. The empire was its own worst enemy, i mean the shear amount of material, money, and lives wasted with the first death star destroyed should been reason enough not to repeat it by making another death star.

I always wondered why the Jedi used the jump rings. They're cool but the getting stranding because your jump ring got clapped is sketchy AF if you really thing about it.

I do like the sequel trilogy but it would be twice as good if it had the same creativity with ship designs that the first 6 movies had. The only good new designs that have been given the spotlight are the Resurgent Star Destroyer, the Tie Silencer and the Upsilon Shuttle.

Here's a question for you: Is there a ship you'd like to see video about but know will never happen because it's outside of Spacedock's wheelhouse? For example, I'd love to see a video about the Arwing from the Star Fox series, but I know it won't happen because it's not from a series these guys are familiar with.

Can someone explain to me why starfighters should be lighter if they're primarily used in space? I get that it matters when you take it into atmospheric battles, but in space, weight shouldn't have any effect on how much thrust and maneuverability you have.

I would have lengthened the fighter by about half a meter and mounted two more engines, a moderate internal hyperdrive, and a small number of concussion missiles.

You know, I don’t buy the “most of the avionics were removed for weight savings”. Avionics aren’t particularly heavy, AI can run off of mid-range hardware these days. They’d save, what, a Kilogram?
