Part of the problem here is that George Lucas was stabbed in the back by Disney behind the scenes. I agree movies are made to entertain, but the disgusting behind-the-scenes story is part of what turns a lot of people away
@alphanimetv
8 ай бұрын
@@officialmonarchmusic Not only that. The stupid rivalry between the two directors has totally screwed up this trilogy. Personally, I can understand why people like 7, it's not that bad. It could have been a good start for something better. But the fact that 8 screws it all up, and that 9 finishes the whole thing off by being totally slammed to the ground, for reasons outside the film itself, to crown it all, that's what pisses me off to no end, and makes me incapable of understanding those who like it. I accept it, because it's not my place to judge them, but I don't understand them.

24:10 the stormtrooper in this scene is none other than James bond himself, Daniel Craig! Turns out both The Force Awakens and Spectre were filming at the same time in Pinewood Studio so Craig popped over as he knew some of the guys making it and they let him cameo, which he did not expect. His casting credit has his Stormtrooper number as JB-007.
Finn has a sense of right and wrong because these troopers arent cloans. These trooper are kids taken as children and brainwashed to be storm troopers. Piece of trivia is the storm trooper that frees Rey, is played by Daniel Craig, James Bond himself.

Healthy criticism is necessary, especially these days with Disney literally ruining every IP they touch. Without such criticisms we risk becoming indifferent to the source material and thus lowering our expectations these studios should be held to. These studios, if for no other reason, should try to remain faithful and respectful to the original author(s) of these legendary movies and shows, without inserting their own social and/or political agendas into them.

How Luke's lightsaber ended up with Maz is somewhat explained in the comics. The current Star Wars comic book run by Marvel is set between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It also features Poe's parents who are part of the Rebel alliance. Starkiller Base is also known as the Ice Planet Ilum. The planet was where the Jedi would go and find their Kyber Crystals that are used to make their lightsabers. The Empire mined the crystals leaving behind a massive trench which would be used to house the planet destroying weapon within. In the game Star Wars: Fallen Jedi, Cal visits the planet in order to find a kyber crystal to create his lightsaber. The planet has already been mined at this point.
Of the new sequels, this one was my favourite. One piece of "lore" that they don't mention in the movies, not sure where it came from, but Kylo's lightsaber is unstable, as a reflection of him :) he built it wrong, those extra beams are exhaust ports and it wouldn't work without them. I also really liked the budding relationship/friendship between Finn and Rey. Also I've heard people complain about Rey winning in the fight with Kylo, but: he had just been shot with Chewie's gun, which absolutely destroys everyone else that got shot with it, also, he was just toying with her until it was too late on his part. Also also I really liked that she basically got a "sink or swim" crash course in using The Force, like she probably wouldn't have gotten so good so quickly except Kylo kept pushing her and torturing her.
The reason she was seeing all those visions when she touched the saber is cuz the force was calling her the force has awakened in her ,,, she gets scared at first but when she starts to click in the force she definitely ends up with more faith than doubt

It's truly sad how so many people can be tricked into thinking there wasn't a plan for a *Star Wars Saga trilogy,* one that continued the story, which was very much incomplete. How utterly naive of this audience.
A Dark Side user can make a Kyber Crystal bleed by pouring all their rage and hatred into one. That's why the Sith have red Lightsabers. While bleeding his crystal, Kylo Ren (Ben) cracked his crystal making the energy unstable so he had to add crossguards to his Lightsaber to make the crystal activate like any other Lightsaber. Love your videos Emme, keep up the great work and may the Force be with you, always!

This movie was sick in the theater and the redemption of Fin all all of it was great especially at the end where the lightsaber passes kylo Ren and goes straight to REYS HANDS
My favourite thing about this movie was when Neil deGrasse Tyson did a kind of "fact check" of it by pointing out the things that don't actually work the way they're portrayed, and he said that in reality BB-8 wouldn't be able to move around on the sand like that, because his spherical shape wouldn't be able to get sufficient traction to move. Then one of the filmmakers (can't remember who) responded to him that BB-8 wasn't an effect: they used an actual full-size remote control BB-8 on set, and yes, in fact, it *can* move around on the sand like that.

Setting aside the reactionary culture-war bullshit behind a lot of the backlash, the one coherent point people made was that Rey picked up a wide range of force talents with no guidance or training at all, using that as evidence that she's a Mary Sue. Watching this reaction the thought occurs to me that it's not really that the studio wanted to insert a Mary Sue into the story, so much as it's a consequence of this particular story's pacing, diving straight into the action and never really letting up. You go back to Star Wars, and a lot of the films of the 70s-90s, and they are SLOW in comparison. The original Star Wars had a lot of time for Luke to receive training from Kenobi, the story was a slow-build that allowed for it. But modern audiences aren't used to the slower pace, it's the streaming age and directors are having to compete with your phone to hold your attention

I hope you check out episodes 8 and 9 soon. It’d be a great way to cap off the year. We also have a new show premiering soon called Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law.
Han and Leia never "officially" got married in a movie, but they were clearly "together" at the end of episode 6.. really.. like it was clear that they loved each other and would end up together as well.. which is why of course, Ben.. Kylo Ren, is strong with the force.. being the grandson of Darth Vader, and the nephew of Luke Skywalker.. pretty big force energy in him
No!! BB-8 was created just for me!! I enjoy your reaction videos so much. You had me talking to my tv when you didn’t realize that Leah was KyloRen’s mom. Haha I must’ve looked like a lunatic. My mom call the Millennium Falcon, “that Falcon ship” too, but she calls ME by the wrong name sometimes and she named me. Han Solo dying was tragic but Harrison Ford actually requested that his character die in this film because he didn’t want to play Han Solo anymore. It’s a tough ask to deny.

Han dying was the condition Harrison Ford made to come back. Ford wanted Solo to die in the carbonite in Empire or while being revived in ROTJ, but Lucas refused. Lucas made it very clear "dead Hans don't sell as toys"
Well, this is going to be interesting to see... I have mixed feelings about the sequels and, for this one, I think there's some good (the idea of a Stormtrooper going against the Empire is really cool if you do it right, I remember back in Mandalorian they did that, but, at the time, this movie was the first live action as far as I know that did something like this. The music score and special effects were great) and there's some bad as well (like basically recycling "A New Hope". We got a new Darth Vader, we got a new Empire, they repeat the story with a droid carrying a secret information around a desert planet thing... I am, personally, also not a very big fan of Rey). I'm glad you enjoy it tho. Hopefully this will continue to be the case, because, in the end of the day, what it matters is if we like it or not. One thing I would LOVE to see you doing is search for "Pitch Meeting" for Star Wars when you finish this. Look for Ryan George and make a reaction to it, like a secondary thing in your channel. I think people had such a violent reaction to episodes 8 and 9 that their memory of episode 7 was tarnished in the process. I remember enjoying this movie thoroughly at the time, and really looking forward to the subsequent movies. And that’s how I remember most people feeling about it - at the time. Of course 8 and 9 were so shockingly terrible, in terms of storytelling, that they somehow managed to bring down 7 with them. It no longer looks like the promising beginning it once did. Which is some feat indeed. I think you’ll get my point once you’ve seen the whole trilogy. I do think a Star Wars fan needs to see them anyway though: They are part of canon, meaning they will be referenced in future movies, and not the least they are a prominent presence in the conversation between fans.

Back then I enjoyed Episode 7 when I watched it at the theater, but the way it reuses Episode 4's plot structure made me feel that it could've brought more creative and new stuff. So, for example, when I saw the Starkiller base, I was like "ANOTHER Death Star?", then I thought "Okay, maybe this base will be a problem throughout the trilogy and they'll be able to destroy it in the last movie", but nope, it was destroyed in the same movie in the same way we saw the two Death Stars and the Trade Federation station getting destroyed in the original trilogy and in Episode 1. As you said, after Episodes 8 and 9, Episode 7 seems to have gotten worse, unfortunately. In general, it's sad to see how much potential this trilogy had. But, as Emme said, we can still have fun watching it.

Kylo Ren's lightsaber was one of the kind because when he turned his kyber crystal red he unwittingly cracked it. The energy couldn't flow properly so he put two more pipes to his lightsaber to make sure the weapon doesn't explode in his hands
Trivia ... the storm trooper that released Rey was played by Daniel Craig (aka James Bond)
To be fair... It's Anakin's saber that Rey takes. Luke just used it for a while. Maz was a bit confused. Haha. That's also why Kylo says it "Belongs to him" because it was once Anakin's and Vader's for a little bit. So it was his Grandfathers'
the reason his lightsaber is split like that its a unstable kyber crystal so to be able to use it it has to have a T shape like that
It did take Emme so long to get here. I'm not the biggest fan of the sequels but still eager for her to see them and enjoy them. The next film is a bit like marmite so should be interesting.
I absolutely ADORE this movie!
I personally love these movies. All it means to me is more Star Wars. Which makes me happy.
There's a huge difference between these troopers and imperial ones. Galactic empire was a ruling faction, troopers were trained into academies, in fact it was Luke Skywalker biggest dream to enter imperial Academy to become a tie fighter pilot like his old friend Biggs Darklighter. First Order is a force opposing to the new republic, former Rebel alliance, that works in secret that's why they exterminated the whole village on Jakku, since they're acting in secret they eliminated any evidence. As general Hux mentioned, First Order stormtroopers were indoctrinated as kids or even at the born. Phasma made the mistake to enlist as stormtroopers the members of the service personal like technicians or in Finn's case janitors. Finn wasn't a stormtrooper so no wonder he was so shocked by the First Order's brutality.
Something to note before you get to it.. in the middle of the next movie, Carrie Fisher (Leia) died unexpectedly kind of.. and yeah, it's mainly just so you know, and there are some CG moments if I recall correctly. But besides that.. this first movie is really good IMO. Finn became one of my favorite characters as it's interesting to discover what a new age Storm Trooper is like.. what they think of and their feelings. On top of that, a lot of the new characters are really well done here IMO.. and no matter what Kylo Ren is really well played by Adam Driver in all three of the newer movies I also really was with Rey's mental struggle to figure out who exactly she was in the universe and why she was.. how she was with the visions and mental struggle. Also fun fact! Andy Serkis (Golum in LotR triology) plays Lord Snoke :)
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but the saber that Rey uses was originally Anakins and then passed to Luke by Obi Wan in A New Hope, so technically the saber does belong to kylo more than it belongs to Rey😂 if I am right then I like to believe that the reason Rey started to have visions when she first touched the saber was because of all of the good and evil things that saber has been used for, by both Luke and by Anakin
How did you get the film footage?
It's not Luke's Sabre, it is Anakins before he became Vader.
I personaly really love this movie
Some people loved it and some people hated it but I think we can all agree that most of us were hype AF when it first came out so many years after Lucas's last trilogy.
Remember when Luke was hanging for his dear life underneath cloud City and he called out to princess Leia and she heard him
As a fellow I like to enjoy things, I personally enjoyed the sequel trilogy
It would have been so much better if Kathleen Kennedy gave Ryan Johnson the entire sequel trilogy to write instead of starting with JJ Abrams. Johnson is a great talent and if he was given a three story arc he would have created a much better sequel series.

Ignore the crazy comments and decide what you think for yourself. When the OT came out, many of us didn’t like the Prequels at first, though Episode 3 was good. Then the kids that grew up with the Prequels became old enough to discuss the movies online and now they are more beloved by the generation it was made for. Then those Prequel kids that grew up saw the Sequels and didn’t like them. We will see how things are looked at in a decade or so. At least most everyone can agree on The Mandalorian and Rogue One usually. Remember, these trilogies are generational. It’s always about the main stars of one trilogy pushed to the side to mentor the next generation and hand off the baton to them, just as Obi a wan and Yoda did in the OT to the new generation of heroes there.

Don't forget Palpatine and the Empire did their very best to destroy every record of jedi. They destroyed temples, communities, and any reference to them at all... AND we're also on the very outskirts of the galaxy, not much out there to begin with, let alone any education or reference about jedi other than myths and bedtime stories

The things they could have done after this movie. And they didn’t. I am an older Star Wars fan but this movie does work with me in a way the other of its trilogy dont. Fin is a great character idea and Kylo is pretty cool to. The end is just bleh.
Rey cosplay would be wonderful!
Starkiller base destroyed the entire Hosnian system, including Hosnian Prime, the base of the new republic
Leia was Anakin/Vaders Daugther... and she was in love with Han..... and when a man and a woman love each other very much... theres something about a stork in there
Good question on if they know each other! Keep that in mind when you watch the next 2 movies ...
