With this tutorial, you can now continue your Celebration adventure in your own home or if you didn't have the opportunity to attend the convention, you can now build just like the fans did at the convention in Indianapolis April 2005 but with improved movie accuracy and in the case of this hallway - LIGHT UP CEILING - not available to the fans in 2005 due to unavailability of LED Light Strips at the time.

    Very thorough and detailed walkthrough. i didn’t make the diorama exactly, but used different methods to make smaller scale mini fig dioramas! The tracing paper ceiling lights is an awesome idea!

    Glad you enjoyed the tutorial Hunter, artists inspiring artists :) with todays LEDs its such a great idea to spead little extra time with ceilings. Back in my early days of building, you only had mini christmas lights that over heated and such fire hazzard for your display. Send me pics, I'd love to see what you made. And spread the word to friends n social groups on the most fun hobby around :) Frank.

    Awesome great job. When I was a kid I made my star wars hall ways and tunnels and air ducks all out of card board box. Mom and dad bought a new water heater which came in s bid card board box. I made the hallways like yours painted the gray with hight lights and made my own blast doors. then made the blast door close. I made my trash compactor out of card board shoe box and attacked it to the inside part of the death star. It was 6 feet tall. I had 6 or 8 light bridges some with the bridge walk ways on some not. To have Luke and Lea jump the chansum like in the movie. I had put some piping up on the top. So my action figures would fit in. And swing accross. had a spearate landing bay for my Millennium Vaulcan would sit. Made a hole were the storm troopers would come up. From a elevator. On top. Of the death star box was the Cannon that was connected to s chair. I then built the trench run to as a 9 years kid. My mom's buddies bought them call kinds of set when I made my own. I guess my buddies like mine better lol.

    That is so cool to hear Douglas and thanks for taking the time to let me know :) Don't underestimate the power of the cardboard boxes :) geez sounds like you and I (and so many other kids out there) have the same imagination :) I don't assume you have any pics from that period ? how cool it would be to see that !!! Well after these basic shelf hallways are done, the tutorials will really take off as all the rooms you describe... trash compactor, round halls, falcon bay, swing across chasm, will all be coming to life here as well with their movie accurate decals and all the connectivity of Legos so that you may just be able to recreate that childhood memory again this year :) Frank.

    Great diorama. I will try to recreate this one myself. Let's see what will happen. 😃 I have already built a couple of things. However, it wasn't a good idea to make the stickers with a color laser printer, the toner flakes off if the stickers are bent too much (like when peeling them off) 😒. However, I also did not take the Avery sheets, maybe they hold the toner better. And that FoamCore eats the blades, I can confirm. You make beautiful dioramas, keep up the good work!

    I know you can do it Q !!! it just takes a little time, not that difficult. And if you enjoy this wait till we start building the true actual rooms, Conference, Red Room, Trash compactor, Swing Chasm, it's gonna be so exciting. Let me know how your build turns out. Frank

    @@dioramaworkshop Hi Frank. I do my best. 😊 Your upcoming projects sound exciting. I just have to be careful not to get into a "crafting frenzy", because you know yourself: It's not easy to get an X size collection into an X/2 size apartment.😉😃 I have started the build of the "Large Blast Door" (Not finished), the "Hallway Archway" and the "Hallway Round Wall Panels". I have uploaded a picture to instagram.

    It's not that complex Paul, it is a big improvement on the 2005 Celebration design, but at it's heart it's the same. You can still make it without the lighting, but man, does it bring it as you say to a next level. I can't wait for you guys to see the BIGGEST- STYLE "C" version and the CURVED HALLWAY - that captures exactly what we remember from the movie.

    Thank you so much Palp. I don't own any 6" figs, wayyy too pricey in Canada. But I have gotten so many request like yours in past 2-3 years, I have started to upload and offer the option in decals in 3.75 and or 6" for those who prefer. Then you only have to multiply the blueprints dimensions by 1.6 to match the scale.

  • @mrphicen8249

    can this be printed out in 1/6 scale ?

  • @dioramaworkshop

    @dioramaworkshop

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Mr.P thanks for asking. Yes, you can modify the blueprints by multiplying the dimension measurements x 1.6 - for the decals, I have started to upload native 6" scale so that you can save to usb stick n bring to a printers, or stationary store that prints 11x17 inch sheets. Go to tutorials menu click on speed index 6" and you can see whats currently available. If you dont see what you need you can print any 3.75" decal at 160% to fit your 6" figures. Hope that helps. Frank.

    The main design is for 3.75" figures. You can modify the dimensions by scaling x1.6 to fit the 6" figures. I have had so many requests like yours, I will be adding native high res 6" size decals on the dioramaworkshop.com website before end of the month.
