Well, hello there... As some of you may know, I was remaking this whole thing, up to my current standard. BUT it seems this project is cursed as AGAIN I was not able to finish it... This time it was more of a time-restraint issue, as first, it was some big projects in uni (Like Adam & Eve Mk.II which you can find on my channel) and now I'm working full-time at The Third Floor as a PreViz Artist so I have even less time. I'm not going to delete any project files yet (Although the project is HUGE in size), in case I just happen to have enough time and will to finish this. But the older it becomes and the more I look at it, the less I like it. Mostly because I progress as an artist I guess, and I'm just not pleased/satisfied with how some of the shots look anymore as I know I could do them much better now. And remaking the whole thing from scratch AGAIN is well... Not likely going to ever happen. So yeah, I might finish this one day... or not. If you'd like to see how much I got finished (It's about 5 minutes), here it is: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pnirpqp7g63KirQ.html I'm definitely planning on making some Star Wars films in the future, but probably smaller in scale :P

While there are only a few minutes here, it's an excellent few minutes. And that Storm Trooper at the end is hilarious. Just that little bit is better than alot of multi million dollar movies out there. Very funny.

I find your lack of faith in this project most disturbing.

This was so good!!! I am very glad for the time and effort you went to to make it!

Incredible!!! Please continue your work...I am a lowly animation editor at Disney and we are always looking for talent...I would encourage you to make a few more...

Great Film

Adding the force unleashed theme instead of the classic theme at the intro was a really nice touch!!

I like CGI... complete or incomplete! ...U got it, man!

The beginning music was amazing, I forgot all about it but the force unleashed came into my mind and I absolutely loved it.

These are the type of short stories I wish they would make on Disney+. Animated 25 minute stories that don’t need an entire backstory.

Thank you for making this! It was super awesome.

I am always impressed with the CGI renderings, I wish i could have used the in the Han Solo chronicles. that was all FCP 7 and 2011 CG. Story is fun, but the ships are cartoony, nice work.

Dude!!! I loved it! I'm a serious critique guy so that coming from me is very different! My only bug is the movement. You've got great camera work and amazing models, now it's just the movement of the characters and making them less 'Robotic" when they walk or do combat. Remember that when the simplest movements are made, it effects the entire body. Even in the smallest ways. Just keep that in mind when you remake it! Also, I would love to see a full story being made out of this! I want to know how they were captured, or if they were meant to be captured. Great stuff man! Can't wait to see some more action out of your characters! (Btw I skipped till the end of the crawl because I didn't feel like reading it, but once I heard The Force Unleashed theme, I had to watch it lol).

Thanks! Actually if you want to see them being captured then watch "Star Wars: The Escape" on my channel :D The robotic movement is due to bad rigs and me not having much experience animating. Rigs are totally redone so that's not an issue anymore for the remake and when it comes to my animating skills - I'm not the best animator ever, but I think I got a bit better since this project two years ago :D

Very well done. I have only one request, please don't have them picking up their lightsabers from the ground it makes no sense. Just pan out to just below their hands so we see that they are carrying lightsabers.

Even if there were Dark Jedi in the era of the Galactic Empire they wouldn't be affected by the Jedi purge as they're not part of the Jedi order.

The idea was that they were part of the Order but fell after the Purge and seeing their friends die etc.

Well, back when I made this thing, I used Autodesk Maya to animate and V-Ray to render. That said, Maya now comes with Arnold Renderer which is amazing (That said, I still prefer V-Ray but that's down to personal preference). Then edit with Adobe Premiere and sound design in Adobe Audition. The only thing that changed now is that I use Unreal Engine 4 as a renderer, so I get my renders almost in real-time in 4K rather than have to spend a week waiting on a 720p render... Also I feel like apart from having to export/import everything from Maya to UE4, which can be a pain in the ass, everything else became easier, that includes a great looking final render without having to do any post-work. Just look at my newer animations and don't tell me it doesn't look better :D Or maybe it's just that I have more experience :P UE4 is free, Maya is not unless you're a student. Of course you can also find a 'free' version if you know what I mean. That said, there's a free program called Blender that seems to be able to do anything that Maya can and maybe even more. And they introduced a real-time renderer similar to UE4 so I feel like Blender is now probably the best go-to software for people who want to create animations etc. for fun/hobby

Nice! I'm actually making a STAR WARS animated fan film myself!

The animations are stiff, but overall, not bad. Just a bit more polish.

What survived was cool. Even though the rest was lost, the short as is has the "you fill in the blank" premise. Oddly, it's great as it is. I liked it.
