I'm a sucker for troopers.

The quick swap of the Hovertank Pilot helmet on this figure's body works perfect as the Hovertank Commander, except that it shouldn't have that extra bit of red on the chestplate. Other than that, all the color patterns are perfect for it.

Jeddostotle7 I'm pretty sure the Hovertank commanders have the red on the chestplate. The SHF has it, but it's painted to look worn off.

Yeah, every pic I've found has that red emblem but it's barely visible, worn down to almost nothing. The biggie that sticks out at me now that I've searched for pics is the right shoulder pad, it's quite a bit different.

I wish Hasbro did a Star Wars Battlefront line for example; Heroes Luke + Han + Chewbacca (3 pack) Nien Nunb + Jyn Leia + 2 Honour Guards Lando + 2 Wing Guards Villains Vader + Boba + Dengar (3 pack) Bossk + Greedo Emperor + 2 Royal Guards Krennic + Death Trooper + C2-B5 I would buy the hell out of that line XD

The Fwoosh They have most of the figures as current/previous releases so it wouldn't be too hard for Hasbro to do, they just have to re-release some figures like Bossk, Boba and Greedo. I think if Hasbro did it they would be onto a winner!

There's no need for a Battlefront line since all of the characters in the game come directly from the movies, and therefore most of them already have figures made of them, or will be getting figures in the future. You'd really just be using a different style of packaging. I don't see how that's a "winner". Seems pointless.

I made my own custom (poorly painted lol) Commander Tank Driver. The official design is that the Tank Driver commander only has a white stripe under the black shoulder on the right side.

Yeah, I noticed that after I edited and went searching online. But for those who can't paint I think this is close enough. Mostly. It's going to drive me nuts now, haha.

All the Target's near me this holiday season have a bunch of these still. So many in fact that they're putting them on clearance for $10 a pop. I already have 2 but I'm seriously tempted to just go buy 3 more for the heck of it.

I honestly didn't even know this figure was coming. This is the first I've heard or seen of it. In the 'Up Next' list, I saw a Fwoosh review of a Black Series AT-ACT driver and I was like, wait...what? Click! lol

Heh, yeah, they only announced this figure last month at Toy Fair and then boom, here it is. None popping up on overseas eBay, no advanced sightings, just a drop and sightings from all over. Insane.

I thought I could live w/ out this guy; for some reason I thought it was a straight up re-paint of the Tank Driver. Now that I realize it's a re-paint AND a head swap, I need to find him. Hopefully a Canadian retailer will pick this exclusive up.

I think I'm the only one, but the toyhunting session for Rogue One last December was so exhausting. The passion was there, but I had zero fun collecting em, most of them I had to find on instagram for a decent price. Makes me wonder if I really want to keep collecting this line, and they're very expensive in Canada. It's a shame because collecting the 3.75 figures was so fun, they were cheap and high quality.

Yeah I'm a huge storm/clone trooper fan. I try to keep my army in the 3.75 line. grabbed the new 6 inch tank pilot from rogue one tho, might be my new favorite.

Why would they? Like Sergeant Blayez said, that's only for the 'A New Hope' figures. It's the 40th Anniversary of that film. Also, you do understand that the 40th Anniversary line is a tribute to the old Kenner figures, right? Rogue One wouldn't make sense.

Try adding a white cape on his back and it'll make him much more badass.

It's just fits the rest so perfectly.

With the Revell At-Act (1/100 scale) I had to upsize it to see how big it would actually be for the 1/12 scale. It being 217 mm from front to end, it would be 1808.33 mm "long2 - or 71.19 inches. And I think it's height was about 65 inches tall. :)

Aw, dammit, this one is gonna be an hell to track down at a reasonable price from outside the US... But I need it in my life...

I'm liking this figure a lot. its very unique looking from other types of Stormtroopers. I grabbed two of them. haven't found the Walmart exclusive Scarif Stormtrooper or Scarif Squad leader. There will be one more coming Scarif Stormtrooper Captain or Commander I think :)

Yeah, they have to finish off the Scarif Shoretrooper set with the Captain. Hasbro actually showed a movie still with all three ranks on it at NYCC but no figure yet. But you better hurry with the grunt and the Squad Leader, pretty soon the 40th stuff will take over and then it's time to roll into the next movie!

I just thought it was the imperial combat driver.

I'm currently finishing up the decal work on my X-Wing Red Squadron Bandai kit.. it's the same as the other X-Wing kit, but with the appropriate decals for the Red Squadron. Now I'm waiting on the AT-AT kit to come out, but that's still a little ways off. Should probably find a kit to do in the mean time... dunno what though

Fartrell Cluggins it's cool. you weren't wrong. I talk with Robo about the model kits any chance I get and have been actively trying to convince him to start doing the vehicles along with the figures. There's a better place for it, I agree. But waiting inbetween kit releases gets the better of me. I'll work on commenting in the right place.

Hasbro does a pretty bad job at human faces. the ones they did make like Cassian look like lifeless plastic junk. also, they don't sell well. there's dozens of mask-less charecters just lining pegs everywhere in the retail circuit. but hey, they made Chirrut and Baze, (who kinda look crappy imo)

I want this in model kit form...

It would just be different belt and decal set, wouldn't it? Oh, and the pieces in white instead of tan. Ooo, maybe if Bandai does a Hovertank Pilot model it will come with the Commander decals.

if ordered something from a place like nippon yasan do I have to pay a fee when the item arrives since its an import from japan? (im in California)

Naw, we don't have pay fees or customs in the US. With Nippon-Yasan, if you're ordering an exclusive, you usually have to pay upfront and that's it. Forget about it until it ships and then just wait for it to arrive.

The only big difference I've noticed is the side with the character name running up and down, they've added a stylized graphic of the name to kind of cover the whole side.

Yeah, completely surprised, both at how early it came out with no warning and how fast it's spread across the country. I'm hearing reports from California today.

When this was first announced, I thought Hasbro is just pulling troopers out of their asses, but only after seeing Rogue One for 3rd time I noticed they are there for a split second before getting blown up. :p

Just the one Target for me, and another about an hour away. Walmart stopped Target from coming into Arkansas for the longest time. I have six Walmarts I can hit in a circle and be back home in an hour and a half though. Ah, Arkansas.

I want one of these, but the woes of living in the UK means I can't get hold of one easily, if at all :):):):):):):):) and I don't wanna pay some scalper shits on eBay for one. Also as for the tank driver commander, you might as well just get another tank driver and repaint him. At least the white would match and the only differences are the grey and black colouring too

Ha! Sucker! You have to get 2 more! XD Nah I'm just kidding! Awesome review and I loved the jokes like "This soft rubber ammo pouch get out of the way for you to sit him in that 6 inch AT-ACT we're gonna get" and then whisper "We're never gonna get one!" It is weird buying 6 inch pilots and them not having any vehicles to pilot, but if we did get 1/12 scaled vehicles, the prices would be NUTS! Oh and speaking if nuts and craziness, I FINALLY got my MAFEX Joker and the hands are very easy to swap out for the most part. I'm still being careful though. The right arm and upper torso keeps popping off though so I need to fix that somehow. But other than that, I love my MAFEX Joker!

Same problems here with my MAFEX Joker but looking at pics of the SHF Joker, I like the MAFEX more, pop-out arms and all. And yeah, I don't know if the TIE Fighter scared Hasbro off 6-inch vehicles or what but I don't see us getting anything big again for a long while. I'd like to be wrong though.

The Fwoosh Yeah, same here. I think the TIE Fighter unfortunately scared off the 6 inch vehicles, but who knows, maybe they'll bring it back. Oh and when you were saying "at act" like in the video I was like "Oh damn, Robo's starting the trend!" Lol!

did they invent this character for the figure? or does it exist in some sort of encyclopedia lol we get this and not Cpt. Syndulla....

Hasbro and I are about to get a divorce. I just got hands on S.H.Figuarts stuff and it's a no comparison situation. SHF blows Hasbro out of the water. Hasbro is really starting to show how little they care. bare bones accesories, no weapon holsters or variation. I'm just not too sold on a repaint and a head swap. I don't know

Is the repaint and headswap really Hasbro's fault though? That's the source material. But I hear ya on SHF, beautiful stuff, but I doubt they get the scope of characters out that Hasbro does, so the Black Series is still useful for aliens and troop building and such.

you are absolutely right it is not Hasbro's fault on the paint and head swap. thinking back the original at- at driver was basically a repaint of a TIE fighter pilot and I had to have both of those. my chief complaint is Hasbro's distribution. 100 scalpers have had Revan for sale for awhile now while I've yet to see that wave anywhere near me. another good point is the mix and matchability between the two lines. anyways, just pulled into my local Target. let's see what's going on in here today!

Naw, the Hasbro troopers are some of their better figures. May be slightly less sharp in sculpt and have less range of motion than the imports but you can't beat the price and availability. I pass on all the Figuarts troopers because they are too small and usually have some limited movement too, and for some reason the sculpts look weird in places like the Stormtroopers helmet, both versions. That's on top of the Bandai whites being an off white color instead of a bright shiny white.

I think aviability and price might be strong for you. Here in Chile, they are slightly more aviable than the japanese ones and the cost is very similar when you don't import yourself, in which case I only import from Japan :p We have allredy discussed the quality of Japanese troopers in the past so I'll just leave it here haha
