It's not a remaster, it's a port with some enhancements.

By enhancements, I think you mean to say bugs, glitches and other play control issues....

In Battlefront 2 apparently the "bugs" with the new update the Trooper Selection Menu being too far to the left and Legendary Awards not applying in Singleplayer are INTENDED CHANGES. Dude where do i even start if those changes ARE intended. I literally only cared about singleplayer and all they had to do was fix a command post on Naboo, Fix sounds, Fix the 501st Journal cutscenes, and fix Droideka camera movement on consoles. All fixes that literally could've been handled in a SINGLE PATCH yet only the first three of those issues were handled the last being still present and they ended up changing the game worse than how it was on launch.

I still think the fact they changed the battlefront 1 loading sound effects, whether intended or not, is one of the biggest fumbles I had seen

It’s a shame they can screw up a release for such a classic game. Hopefully they get everything fixed.

The gamevbeen playable from day one of classic collection, I've put several hours onto this collection, and it's well worth 35 bucks, and I'd gladly pay 60 bucks for a physical version

I'll stick to my original xbox thanks.

The original Battlefront I (2004) & Battlefront II (2005) still work great (and have all the original materials and DLCs) on Xbox...and the best part.... ZERO bugs, glitches and other issues....

It s reputation wasn't corrupted, by greed, it was aspyrs stupid for marking a game collection that wasn't about online play as a online focus collection, online is the least important part of this collection , just like it ws the least un needed feature in 2005, online is not the point of these games but offline was and is still with this collection

This felt like the definitive gta release all over again

Honestly, I’ve been having a really good time with the game. Yeah, it had its glitches when it released which was unfortunate, but most of the problems have been ironed out (at least in my experience). It’s nice being able to play it on Switch after playing it on Xbox for 19 years.

Exactly I have it on switch. Because the last handheld version of this came out on the PSP and I was like seven so this is a dream for inner child me

It really sucks but probably not thedevelopers fault. Just upper manegement setting insane deadlines

I'm not a dev nor programmer. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I though ports are not just simply "grab the old code and put it in a new machine". A game originally made for playstation 2 won't magically just run in the newest playstation. Same for windows versions. You'll have to patch good'ol 3d Pinball Space Cadet for it to work in windows 11. Even if devs fix it enough and made the game run in new hardware, the games would probably still be plagued with wonderful and novel bugs, all introduced by mismatched architecture and systems. What you see it's not the devs fucking it up, it's the nature of port development. And knowing corporate, this is probably the best they could do given the little time and manpower.

problem is, they made the dumbass decision to use the PS2 version as the base. which was designed for the PS2s unique architecture. Rather than use the original xbox or PC version, built for x86 which is natively compatible on all consoles and PC except Switch. if they had used the original xbox version, all the dlc would be natively added already, we would have gotten 4 player splitscreen, network code that actually works for larger internet matches and more

I don't really understand this company though. To do this to the most critically acclaimed Star Wars game will cause that company to not be trusted at all if they make another game that includes multiplayer. They didn't do this to a game with little notoriety, they did it to a game that was the best-selling Star Wars game in its original Xbox/Ps2 era on top of nearly having the highest online player base in that era. No one is going to trust them again. I think I may disagree with you not calling it the worst launch under the context that the only job Aspyr had was making an old game work and doing some minor tweaks.

They are remastered by definition being upscaled assets of game and not by the actual console or tv

guess i'll stick to playing the classic version on my xbox

I legit wanted to get an Xbox just for the backwards compatibility but then a cheaper alternative presented itself. To bad cheaper is all it was...

The problem with "voting with your wallet" argument is that, while you're voting with your wallet, you are also competing with a shit ton of other wallets that are voting against you. And, sadly, the bigger wallet wins. They'll keep selling minimum viable products and people will still be paying for cash grabs.

Bf3 legacy is so amazing, it just makes me sad we never will get to play the official canceled bf3…

EA made a lot of money with this remaster, so they have no reason to change things, people will buy their crap anyway

i refunded 61 minutes after launching it. Utter dog water of an experience. People are still defending it on the steam discussion and actually think "people are only playing the originals right now because they're trying to make a point" no people are playing the originals because the soul purpose for the classic collections existence was multiplayer! why would they even bother playing it for the single player when half of it's missing and all the upscaling and tweaks they did can be achieved on the originals for free via mods
