I liked the original Gorn from TOS episode Arena worked for me.

TOS had at least 1 or 2 goofy Plato's Stepchildren style and we often forget that. S3 had at least 8 goofy episodes after Paramount took over. I find this series entertaining, but I have to self edit out the 2 or 3 episodes a year that are not for me

TOS had a huge budget back then also taking into consideration inflation compared to now.. Budget wouldn’t have helped it look much different. For two reasons. 1. Obvious they didn’t have access to special effects technology we have now’s no advanced CGI for example. Or modern lighting. 2. A lot of the choices were stylistic choices first pilot went with greys and white to simulate appearance or navy ship of the day. But they made ship more colorful in main show to take advantage of newfangled color tv tech. As I recall Roddenberry didn’t have control over the latter choice. Art design on Star Trek The Motion Picture went back to muted naval greys and tans again.

The musical and the cross over was just amazing!

I ❤ SNW, Ethan Peck as Spock and Nyota Uhura I hope to see her play Spock's lyre. Charades and the musical Subspace Rapsody were top's. Wonder if we can see T'Pring again?

SO HAPPY THEYRE DOING A THIRD SEASON! Hope they don't stop at three like TOS. they had so many more stories to tell. I love TNG but picard was the diplomat. Kirk and Pike were the cowboys. I love both. I hope STW gets 6 or 7 seasons at least!

Trek is basically her breakout role. She is a model and self-taught artist from Australia. And yes she's in Season 3 unfortunately as she continues to be the catalyst for SNW writers as they destroy the character of Spock.

What happened to Rose-Gooding's acting credits?

Well at least it is better than STD. Star Trek: Discovery. But Season 2 diverged all over the place. A good iteration such as The Next Generation had some weird episodes such as Sherlock Holmes murder mysteries in Holodeck and so on. But in Strange New Worlds they made a cartoon episode and then a musical episode. I wonder which target audience they are targeting. We need to see Season 3 somewhat return to a proper format and maybe they should make double or triple episodes, such as TNG had sometimes.

Pike won't get seriously injured on the series. If he does, the situation could be very different. They're not in the prime timeline. If it is, then Khan wouldn't be a child. So I don't care if they break canon all day, I can just have fun. Besides, I feel that the changes at first contact made history shake out differently.

SNW wrapped up in June.

What the actual hell???!???!, Why stop S02E10 like that? and we have to wait until 2025? I hope you all give us more episodes per season. I"m in limbo now...

We've been waiting for SNW. Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet have planted a seed that will keep the dream of living and working in deep space alive for another 50 years.

They teased Sybok, I hope we see him in Season 3.

@@l8knight845 TNG,DS9 and Voyager was the height of Star Trek for me,good stories with interesting characters you cared about.I've watched Discovery too,all style and no substance,Burnum and Saru get all the storylines,but,the rest of the bridge crew ,except for Tilly get no character developement or storylines.And Tilly needs to hit the gym-ASAP-LOL. I hear some fitness gyms have a $ 10 dollar special to join.

wishful thinking. Akiva Goldsman doesn't understand Trek so there's no way they will be faithful to canon on this character. He was more intelligent and mature as a 10 year old in the animated series than he is as a 30 year old in SNW.

Rebecca romance was best in the librarians the series with John laroquett.

Glad some people are enjoying this...thing, but for me, with the exception of Picard season 3 Star Trek ended with the cancellation of Enterprise.

Instead of race swapping Kyle, Andrè Dae Kim should have been Sulu! Ensign Sulu could have been this series Chekov. Working his way up the ranks. Would have been great! Plus, we'd see more of this actor.

SNW has been pretty good, but the musical episode was the worst episode. It didn't need a sequel.

I'm not excited at all for the new season, the first 2 seasons wasn't that interesting, and I have been a Star Trek fan since the 60's. That musical episode was a complete train wreck! The best Trek to come out of Paramount lately was season 3 of Picard, so I won't be holding out any hope for SNW.

Let's see, they've done fantasy satire, comedy, romance...what's left? Oh, perhaps actual science fiction adventure??? Oh, yeah, and one of the Originals, the second of TOS (I consider Spock, Chapel, and Uhura were already in the SNW universe from the beginning, so it's already pretty top heavy with the old/new group). What a concept! So, what is this? TOS: The Younger Generation? Try to leave some room for the great cast the show already has, such as Captain Pike (remember him?) and Erica Ortegas (a breath of fresh air!) If the writers can manage to create something original for La'An and Number One, those two have potential as well...at the moment, they're one-note wonders, and that note is getting old quickly).

The relationship between Spock and Chapel is ridiculous. The whole participation of Nurse Chapel in every episode and her protagonism is ridiculous. That is the worst character of the show.
