Did anyone else notice the quality of the CGI on the fly by. Not just the internal rooms but the saucer section is burned up from its reentry and crash landing. Then as it flys past we see the engineering section its attached too and its pristine. I love the detail they put into that.

@@anicetune I agree that it looks CGI like , but I think it is a lighting issue, shadow properties in the 3D software have to be adjusted and a bit high resolution micro details added to the hull. Even the best CGI model looks fake if lighting is not exact and in that scene the conditions chosen were not ideal. On the other hand I think the look of a real model is reachable today. And a model would reveal its limitations in such a very very close shot as well.
Right now, I'm thinking back to when I was just 5yrs old watching my first Star Trek episode in 1966. That's when I fell in love with the entire "scifi" genre and especially 😆 for the crew of the Enterprise🖖 Flash forward to today, and I'm really, really enjoying this 3rd season of Picard!!! Bringing Janeway in as a surprise secret cameo makes sense on so many levels. It satisfies Seven's arc , as well as being a solid wingman assist to the TNG Crew. Once the ships are desynced they could fire up Voyager with its upgraded Borg weaponry, with Tuvok appearing first then Janeway stepping into view. Janeway had plenty time fighting the Borg.

I always champion Janeway. She better be back. Plus the messed with Tuvok. I want Sisko back as well. Seven probably assimilated the Titan crew as her own collective. Remember they said eliminate all unassimilated. They are probably confused by Seven and see her as Borg.

Janeway better bring in the Calvary! They’ve mentioned her so much if she’s not coming in to help beat the Borg (again) I’d be a little sad
We saw the Defiant. Then Changelings. Saw Voyager, Tuvok, big talks about Admiral Janeway. We never saw the great lady till the end of the episode. But there she is reunited with her original crew. I'll bet that we will see DS9 and Voyager reunited then brought together for the 1st and last time. The Warship Defiant was made to fight the Borg. And Voyager took it to another level.

The Titan has the same problem as the other ships... soon as the fleet finds it, it will either be networked into the fleet or destroyed BY the fleet...the same way they destroyed the Excelsior ...because all the ships talk to each other... the Titan is of little to no use.....if the titan was of any use, why would they need the Enterprise D?

I entertained the idea of The Collective being defeated by Jack...and Seven. I'd accept the loss of both as illustrative how dire this all is. Sacrifices to be made in order to succeed may be the only way to beat back the Collective.
That Borg ship at Jupiter is definitely the one Jack is on. I noticed the atmosphere around it when Jack was approaching in the previous episode looked very Jupiter-esque. Reminded me of the scene where the Enterprise rises out of Jupiter's atmosphere in the Kelvin reboot. Hearing them say there was a Borg vessel at Jupiter just clinched it for me. VERY excited for this last episode!

What about O'Brien
I loved this season. Like so many other fans I love seeing the old crew together and the reveal of Enterprise-D and the bridge. I am excited for next week's episode and they have so much to wrap up. The incoming Borg; the assimilated fleet and all the crew; Seven and Raffi's situation plus some pleasant wrap up of the whole series with an emotional good-bye. And I want Picard back with Laris at the end of the episode. And there will be some things that I suspect won't be wrapped up: *Who was the "face" that Vadic talked to? We assume it is the Queen but how did the Borg get that technology and that control over the Changelings? We likely won't know. *How are all the under 25 crew members going to react when they revert back to human and realize that they killed all their senior officers and fellow crew? *What has happened on earth? It would seem logical that the Changelings would have inserted the Borg assimilation program into earth based transporters esp at Starfleet Academy so that many people on the ground would be Borg drones with the same commands to kill non-assimilated beings. That might not be as bad since unlike previous Borg drones, modified humans lack shields and are killed by phaser fire so they might overtake a ship but not necessarily overtake larger ground based facilities. (They might get away with saying earth transporters are better protected.) *Most of these folks have somewhere to go at the end but what happens to Data? *What happens to Jack? He just can't go back into the general population with these abilities in his system. Does he go off into the wilds of space? Does Beverly go with him? At some point mom and son do have to part ways. If so then where goes Beverly? For me it would ruin it if she ended up with Picard as he needs to get back to Laris. Having said all of that, I am glad this is the end. Let this be the last time we see the TNG-DSN-VOY crew and time line with live series. PRODIGY and LOWER DECKS can have flashbacks due to their time lines but let's move forward. We might have series set in this time period and there might even be nods to the fans with some name dropping but let's have all new crews, new actors, ships and scenarios. The Jurati Borg and that transwarp conduit would be an ideal storyline although likely better for a movie or two. Having said that, although I was totally tired of the Klingons by the end of DSN, it would be fun having the Worf we see in season 3 of Picard in his own series. Who'd have thought that Worf would be the comic relief? My biggest fear for the next episode is that the solution will be too simple. They will throw in some deus ex machina plot element such as Jack, now part of the Borg collective, will be dominant and take control of the incoming vessel and then connect to the fleet and someone reverse the assimilation process. Or Jurati appears and she does that. Or Seven figures out some way by herself to reverse it all. I will still watch it but hope for a more complicated resolution in 46 minutes left in the series. P.S. Why are all the lights on in the rooms of the Enterprise-D as it arrives at Jupiter? Didn't their parents teach them to turn off unneeded lights? :-)
My real concern is this is a huge battle to resolve in just one episode.... I think I'd have preferred this stage to be about episode 6-7, and then (if we wanted old legacy) them chasing up older staff to take back to the museum and take other ships.... Chakotay and Paris on Voyager? Worf and O'Brien on Defiant... at least have a few more older ships running in - with perhaps one like Defiant doing a suicide run on the fleet to buy the others time...

The entire season is utterly littered with bread crumbs of foreshadowing.
I think I have something figured out. It comes from Riker’s comment in episode 9 when he asks Jordie to squeeze all he can out of those “OLD” Enterprise-D shields, and also that it’s weird that Jordie just happen to have torpedoes laying around to load. (Why would a fleet museum have torpedos laying about?) Answer: I bet Jordie updated the Enterprise D with the enhanced “armored” shields and left over Quantum torpedoes from Voyager, which were future tech supplied by time traveling Admiral Janeway! This will give Picard and Enterprise D superior technology to any other ship in the fleet and even the Borg!
Oh my god, you have completely nailed it! Of course lots of other legacy starships will arrive around half way through the episode to support Picard and crew... why wouldn't they. They've been setting this up all season 🙂 the Enterprise-A, the NX-01 Refit and of course Voyager commanded of course by Admiral Janeway, something else they've been setting up all season. This all makes perfect sense. I never even thought about it until I saw your video but it just makes complete sense to me now 😁

The Last Generation "standing" between Federation Spacedock and the Borg Collective to save its "Younger Generation" from being completely Assimilated through a Heroic Act which would transform them as a Higher Level of Being as benevolent version "Q".
If Kira asked, Odo and the Jem'hadar could help them.
People are suspecting Q will return in episode 10. I was just thinking we will see a cameo of Admiral Janeway and she will help save the day. She’s been mentioned several times this season and this is why I suspect she will be making cameo. That and she’s been highly successful in thwarting the Borg. Also, something that’s been bothering me on the timeline of the Borg/Starfleet history. The Raven with Anika Hansen’s (7 of 9) parents was assimilated 18 years prior to the episode “scorpion part 1”. If we back that up and calculate based off of when the episodes were aired, that would be 10 years prior to when the Enterprise encountered the Borg via Q in the episode “Q-who”. What bothers me the most is that the Hansens seemed to know who the Borg were and how to get around their sensors without being assimilated for a while. This means they would’ve had knowledge before the Enterprise incident.

4:38 That shot lasts 19 seconds which is pretty long for a ship shot in NuTrek because they feel like they last about 2-5 seconds. Plus, the shot slowly pans across the ship which is a nice change of pace compared to the fast cutting of Discovery and early Picard.
Impulse engines aren't even lit on the old saucer, no wonder the ship's movement is a bit sputtery and off-kilter. Really adds to the wounded warrior feel.

I was thinking that too
We now know why Miles Edward O'Brien is "The Most Important Person in Starfleet History". He is the only person that can fix the transporter issue."
I think it will be Jack's human part that will save the day. He maybe carries borg DNA, but he is also human. He always had the power not to open the door, he is not just a puppet. The borgs could not manipulate his actions or thoughts in the past, maybe they will not be able to control him in some critical moments of the war.
It seems that the only way to eliminate the Borg threat without destroying all of Star Fleet is to find a way to deactivate their ability to control the partially assimilated humans. Star Trek will find a way, and the Federation will prevail!
As far as “mistreated characters” whom we’d like to see given better endings, I would like to see O’Brien and Wesley. Beverly has mentioned Wesley several times as basically lost to her, and a brother-brother face off between Vox-Jack and Traveller Wesley could be pretty cool. A full Picard-Crusher family intervention might be what turns Jack back from the Dark Side. And O’Brien to help Geordi use the D’s transporters to de-Assimilate the kids…and because he’s arguably the best loved secondary TNG cast member/DS9 main cast person they haven’t shown on Picard, LD or Prodigy up to this point. I mean they brought back Ro, Shelby & Tuvok this season and made allusions to Odo…I need our favorite Chief back!

I love the idea of this being spread via transporters and O'Brien comes back to save the day!
This is one of the best Star Trek series out there. Don't forget about them meeting up with the Borg at the end of season 2. What if she is connected some how.
The teaser shows them heading to the borg cube, near Jupiter, so most-likely Troy will get thru, telepathically, to Jack, and help him "break free" of the borg influence... Then he could turn things around. They said Deanna would have a big part in the last three episodes..... I wouldn't be surprised if the Jurati "good borg" showed up to help, but that's a long-shot. Of course, it IS Picard's show, so we could see him contact and get thru to Jack as well.
there is a reason that they cut off the preview right before we saw the Borg Ship. I think the Borg ships is Juratti's sjip coming to help Picard....otherwise, why wouldn't they show the ship in the promo?

It's the same cinematic lighting we saw in the TNG movies.

The lighting has been dim all season because it helps the cast not look so old.

It'll be great if the Vulcans and the Klingons would come to help. It'll be even greater if they were led by Martok and Janeway.
I've got a theory - I think the Borg Queen is Admiral Janeway from Endgame (as we never saw her face when Jack met her) and the key to winning this battle is Picard / Seven reaching either Janeway or Jack to undo them from within.
I wonder if Jack’s humanity may play a part of the Borg’s undoing, along with a visit from a certain Q?
We need more carpet!
I think the crew should pick up the 'synths', who should be immune to the signal broadcast by Jack and use them to help pilot the Enterprise-D and liberate more ships from the Fleet Museum.
The Classic Lady returns. The almost art deco lines and look of the ship in stark contrast to where the CGI driven effects of the newer generation of Star Trek vessels. All Brutalist in design.
Picard: I am Locutus of Borg, Resistance is futile. Jack: I am Vox of Borg, let me show you what I got. Locutus: Shall we ? Borg Queen: We are the Borg. Let the Assimilations begin ! Worf: Assimilate this ! 💥💥💥 😂🤣😂
Whatever you do watch it to the last second. Its epic and will knock your socks off!
It was "Q" who started all this Borg trouble. It should be one of the "Q's" to step in and stop it. I also noticed that Dr. Crusher walked off quickly after talking with Picard. I wonder if she has an antidote type of idea in mind. Like in GOT, it was an unlikely character who saved the day.
I personally think the coolest thing that could happen is Janeway coming back with specious 8472 the borgs greatest enemy..she’s secretly been talking with them for years and after 30 years they have found a way around the weapon used against them.. and they know once the borg take over regular space they’d be coming for them.. I think that would be so cool and they wouldn’t have to destroy the fleet they could just disable it…
Makes me wonder, can Jack take control of a Borg like he does others?
The Borg Queen's face is probably going to scarred from Janeway blowing up the Borg Complex in Voyager's last episode Endgame
You can see four blue ships (the Enterprise-D, the Voyager, the Defiance, the Enterprise-A?) near the Earth's spacedock in the end credits (at time 45:28). We can guess who will fly them.
In the sneak peak JL says the fleet is being controlled as a collective, "the Hive mind with a single voice". The obvious answer is the character who has just been revealed to be the Borg voice, Vox, and has spent the past 9 episodes discovering his Starfleet family...
A fight between borg queens? I like that idea.
Just subscribed ;) Greetings from Germany! I love your positivity and your enthusiasm ❤ In a way TNG has always been like a family to me. It was and still is my moral compass. To me this season of Picard is so amazingly emotional and makes up for everything that went wrong in first two seasons. I was in tears about the Ro Laren appearance and of course her beloved majesty the Enterprise D. I wonder about the connection between the changelings and the Borg. Were they assimilated too? Of what nature is their connection? Why did Vadic act almost like she was Jack‘s mother? I‘m really looking forward to the finale, though it makes me sad. The cast aged like fine wine. Love to everyone ❤❤❤
If I would have to guess, I´d say the crew of TNG will save Earth and the Federation at the cost of their own lives. Then, they will be revered as the saviors and heroes they always were.
The only help they need is already on the bridge..... Locutus of Borg😢
They don't have to stop the fleet. They have to stop the transmission to the fleet. 1 Borg cube.
One thing I did want to note is for such an advanced species, they really put their eggs in one basket, not ever knowing if Picard would actually procreate or not because you know, he was/is pretty old old even back then.

As great as Season 3 has been, this is lazy writing.

Thats called "plot convenience" and season 3 is full of it. Its being covered over by nostalgia and moments for the feelz like the reveal of the Enterprise D.
You nailed every hope for the finally
The Borg ship and Queen look like they've both seen better days. It could be the same queen from Voyager that got blown up in Endgame. That's why her right half looks more cybernetic than organic. I wonder if the Borg ship will look like a Borg fusion cube from Star Trek Armada. If it's made up from scraps of other Borg ships.
It's Jurati's ship they find at Jupiter. She comes to the rescue by helping Picard's son free himself from the Borg Queen's control and by doing so freeing all the younger than 25 set that became drones and once free Jurati with help from Jack takes over control of the Borg Queen's collective and ends the war between the sides.
The nice borg.... the friendly borg, the ponies and candy borg
My theory re the Borg queen. It's the head and spine of the Borg queen from First Contact. That's why we haven't seen her face. I believe Vadic 'repatriated' her from Daystrom where she was being 'studied'.
For Season Picard 4 they should do a background story on how Picard also managed to be member of House Atredies.
everyone knows that spot and porthos are going to save the day.
The TNG crew is headed to Earth. With 23 episodes of fighting the Borg, the heroes of Picard are going to be Katherine Janeway and her Voyager crew.
Dare I say it? Sling shot around the sun, go back in time far enough to head this off at the pass. When all else fails, go old school.
The Jurratti stuff was so terrible...this is the only season that hasn't been ruined with terrible ideas. Terr Matalas has done an amazing job, I hope he sticks the landing.
Will the Doctor take over command of the Fleet in the Holodeck ???
Jack is going to do virtual mental battle against the collective. That's how this ends.
The Enterprise D was a bright idea. Literally.
Shades of Battlestar Galactica where the only old ship in the fleet not networked is humanity’s last best hope.
O’Brian will save the day.
I'd like to see the "Reformed" Borg renegades under the leadership of Agnes Jurati from Picard Season 2 doing battle alongside the lone Enterprise-D TNG vessel against the Evil Queen Borg and her usurped Starfleet vessels and free the latter from her control and possession with Jack similarly doing his part within the Evil Borg Cube. Now that'll make a thrillingly extended 75 min special. Any unintended spoiler alert or wishfully divergent line of thinking riding on an alternate plot development and ending altogether? 🙄
Starfleet is mainly comprised of Earth vessels…the Klingons and Vulcans have their own fleets within the Federation. You need to be careful not to interchange Starfleet with the Federation…they are two different entities. Starfleet is a part of the Federation…not the other way around. So, to ask for help is a good idea since the ships of our allies wouldn’t be connected to the Earth fleet. Starfleet may fall…but the Federation wouldn’t be gone. As for older crew members…if you notice throughout the episode…the changelings infiltrated as senior members of Starfleet. The chances that Janeway, Kira and many of the others would have been replaced by now such as Tuvok was. Remember…there are many Changelings throughout Starfleet…on those ships! This makes contacting any other senior officers almost impossible especially since comms were being disrupted by the collective. Oh for Pete’s sake you’re bad a this…OF COURSE IT’S THE CUBE JACK IS ON. The Enterprise D can’t take the fleet…but they can and have taken on a Borg cube single-handedly in the past. And Picard may still have some Borg knowledge to defeat them. Or perhaps Seven regains the Titan and helps…who knows. But we’ve seen only one cube…the Borg only ever send one cube to tackle Earth. So where else would Jack be? As for the future of Star Trek…it would be nice to see a Star Trek Titan…with Seven as captain. It would make a lot of sense. Especially since Star Trek Online is becoming more and more cannon with its ships…the Enterprise F was just made cannon by putting it on screen…that sort of thing. Let’s see how this ends…and if it leave an open ending for the future…
Voyager is going to come with its anti borg tech with Seven yuvok and maybe Janeway on board im convinced!
