@@johnnyjohnson7763 there was actually a real life reason for the swinging leg, and even his lean. Frankes hurt himself helping a friend move and those moves were to help him feel comfortable as standing and sitting hurt.

this did happen during the the 1998 movie star trek :insurrection but the seat thing that is also called the Riker maneuver is more a fan joke about the way Ricker sits in a chair because the actor found it hard to sit in a chair normally because of the uniform until later in the series where they change uniforms and he did it more of a statement later on not sure if it was canonized as the Ricker maneuver (that's a lot episodes of next gen to rewatch)

This series got me back into the game. Wild to see how far it’s come since the last time I played. Love this series. Looking forward to seeing the Extra Parts MKII 😂 (posting early in the vid)

I've started a new player commanding shacks sister ship spare parts made from the different verryants of the merrander. Centaur saucer - merrander beta nacells - Shekhar struts - reliant pylons I play the mission as I watching him play

This series brought me back as well.

I hope Shack keeps this up for a long time... sooo much story content in the game by now; not all of it on the same level, but there are a few *amazing* story arcs! Add to that the rabbit holes of different ships and possible builds, and you have more than enough to make up for the act that ground combat needs another update ;) also, once you dip into the TFOs, you get very cool one-mission combat scenarios for some Dakka in between (and sometimes as part of) the storylines

Ground combat needs an rework since day one. Lets be true.. it never will be right. Its simply impossible :D

Got me to start playing again. Always forget how good the space combat is. Q'plah, may you never meet me in battle Captain.

To me Shack failed as a Star Trek nerd when he mistook the Riker manoeuvre for the Picard manoeuvre.

You can turn on Auto Loot from Menu/Options/Basic/Enable Auto-loot for those take pop-up notifications.

He did ;) On stream. He even came up with an in-character explanation for why he had to switch ships but I won't spoil that, it was actually really fun :)

Apparently some variations of the Sovereign-class in STO actually have metreon gas cannisters on board for the express purpose of pulling the Riker maneuver.

I believe it is the sovereign refit in the zen store. Or was it the majestic refit. Been so long since I ran it.

Thank you for doing this series! Always wanted to try it out but never did. Now i'm jumping on day to day knocking something and getting off. Really enjoying the relaxed and fun game play.

I think that phasor cannons have their own hard point so you don't lose the regular phasors, but I don't know for sure. I would recommend that you experiment. Save before you buy/equip some and get into combat and see. If I am wrong roll back you save to before phasor cannons and go from there. Happy hunting.

1:11 If you can get the t6 miranda, you'll see a LOT improvement. If you can't buy one in c store....fleet modules....they can get a fleet miranda, and you'll unlock the soyuz class parts for it. :)

I hope you continue doing this. I'm enjoying watching these like rewatching old TNG episodes. Keep it up! :-) By the way, do not sleep on those Neutronium Alloy consoles. They will be very useful to you in the future.

the riker maneuver is actually against the sona in Star Trek Insurrection, he uses a nebula and i think warp plasma or something like that in order to cause the sona weapons to ignite the nebula and take out their own ships okay maybe wrote that one to fast but nvm :p

The way things are going, I feel like I will be sitting on a rock for a moment. In the mean time, these crates are beginning to smell like formaldehyde. And, I thought I would be transporting plastic cargo. huh

I'm playing all three factions in STO and my favorite ship so far has been a Klingon Vor'cha Battle Cruiser I got for my Romulan character for 10000 dilithium. It fought brilliantly in every battle it was in, and the ship was so tough, the enemy was lucky to scratch the paint on it. I've upgraded my ship recently because my character level demanded it, but I sure miss that ship!

There are higher level successors of the Vor'Cha which can use the same skin I do believe the support cruiser you can currently get in the Cryptic charity bundle is one of the, but I'd have to double check (yes, it costs money, but not a lot for what you get, AND it is a charity thing, so... might be worth a look ;) )

just confirming that the T6 ship you can get from the current charity bundle can do the Vor'cha skin on it. Plus as a T6 it scales as you level so you can use it at any level. 10 bucks for 2 ships and a bunch of goodies, and the money goes to a good cause too, not a bad deal

@@thestokes91 Thanks for the info, I will check into it. The reason I mentioned this is because The XPGamers mentioned his favorite Klingon vessel, and I just though to give my own favorite (in game vessel) a shout out, and the reasons why I like it.

I think that was Star Trek: Elite Force, a ST:Voy FPS, I think the only ST FPS. If I remember right they said something similar in game to in-universe justify carrying 7-8 different guns

The Picard Maneuver is tugging down his uniform when he gets up from a chair. The Riker Maneuver is how Riker steps over a chair to sit on it. Now you can't un-see them doing that

Little tip for you Shack, you do 30% increased ranged damage when you ADS.

Picard Maneuver is the Warp Jump. Briar Patch is Riker

The Riker Maneuver is when you mount a chair like a thoroughbred horse, Shack. Everyone knows that.

FYI - You can change the power levels for your ship. You can use the presets or manual in increments of 5. IMO, you don't need that much power in auxiliary (Exotic DMG aka DOT, etc DMG you do with the crew abilities) and put it in weapons or shields. (should have watched the video till the end first XD)

Anomalies are best for crafting. Even though buying and rep items are better. However useful nonetheless. Good for R&D levelling. Never miss any you can get. Never know what you might need later on.

I *love* this series. Can't wait for your next ship. That Miranda-class is getting old by now. :) Also, you really need to learn how to rotate your shields (arrow keys) and divert power when necessary. Look up the keycommands for each settings. The whole game becomes so much easier, and you'll be more effective on the battlefield, when you do.

Yes, a split second warp jump to confuse sensors of the enemy ship.

Just a warning for fans of the game. Watched one of the full Twitch live streams and the mask slips off for a moment here and there to reveal this guy has an axe to grind. This is a hate run where he's establishing his "credibility" by pretending to give the game a fair shot while carefully setting himself up for failure. During the stream he refused to slot duty officers, passed on free give away promotions, and made it clear he would not take part in events. If he's avoiding events, the primary source of reputation marks, that means he's avoiding the reputation system. If your goal is to prove the game is pay-to-win then you have to pretend the reputation system doesn't exist. You've been warned about where this is going.

See..... this knowledge leaves me conflicted. On the one hand. I play STO, i know about a lot of its bullshit, but i "beat" the game " (did all story missions and got into tfos and all the way up to t5 in 3 reps) before i spent a single dime on getting a couple of the more iconic premium ships for trophies. So i know it can be done and without too much hassle as long as you dont seek to enter pvp At All. Buuuut i do understand someones want or need to expose dirty business practices. On the other, this completely and 100% ruins this series for me. Knowing its a farce and that hes not actually having any actual fun, i'd rather him not play it at all and just be honest and open about it as he is pulling in new and returning players with this series under VERY false pretenses which kills any point he'd be trying to make dead in the water. And truth be told. I will be VERY disappointed in shack if this turns out to be true and may very well stop supporting him. As thats honestly just as scummy as what hes trying to ""expose"" (which lets be honest perfect world is iirc majority owned by tencent so no one should be surprised

While there's a lot of stuff that Star Trek Online does decently well, the music isn't one of them . . .
