“As a matter of fact, I think you’re the bravest man I have ever known”
One of the most underrated movie themes ever.
Great Performance. Since I first heard this piece as the title theme to the film I have felt this is one of the most beautiful film scores I have ever heard and this flute solo was beautiful as well . Thank you for sharing your gift with us . And Being able to play a flute that well is indeed a gift
Oh, I am discovering this right now: Very nice played, very emotional and phenomenal! You are lighting up my day! I am a Trekkie and love the soundtrack of this movie. With the flute it could also be thought as music in a Native American movie, I think. Thank you very much! Best wishes for you and your beloved ones from Frank, Germany
This was seriously one of the BEST trek movies! And again, played perfectly, thank you.
Best Star Trek Movie theme, and that's saying lot because 1, 2,4,6, generations were great too. Even the producers know it since they brought it back for Picard season 3 end credits
Beautiful theme! #jerrygoldsmith #jonathanfrakes #patrickstweart
"My God! They really are from another world."
The Admirals of Starfleet smile upon you this day with this wonderful performance of yours.
The music gives me goosebumps every time I hear it well played and your video definitely brought the goose bumps. You may or may not be nerdy but you can DEFINITELY play the .Beautifully WELL DONE
As a flautist myself, I must say that you have a beautiful low register with lots of beautiful edge. A lot of flautists have a good clean middle and upper register but their lower register suffers. Clean attacks and releases! Makes my inner flautist happy!
for me - best Startrek film and melody 🥰
The BEST of Star Trek music is, for me, "First Contact". In particular, the track of that title. I would LOVE if you covered that one!! But, this (the title track) is superb. Mostly, I love your love of this.
Just simply wonderfully well done
I filled up with tears watching and listening to this, that was beautiful!

Aww I’m flattered! There’s a professional version now as part of my new album.
tears are running... wonderful, very very wonderful...Love this so much....thanks a lot, the way you're playing this Shows, you understood the basic Idea...
Bellisimo!! Love this very much.
Beautiful....
Wondrous. The best ever.
till Gene's dream comes true....
Beautiful
I got chills!
Wow, Großartig
Nice. And you are a flute nerd. I see a bass, an alto. I’m assuming there’s a picc there somewhere. Do you have an Eb somewhere? Really rich sound. I like it.
To hell with our orders
Very beautiful
i am crying ;(
Very nice job! I love those flutes!
Great show, thank you. 💙
You will assimilate The Nerdy Flutist's performances in your brain, resistance is futile.
Next to his theme for The Motion Picture, I've always thought this was one of Goldsmith's best. You played it wonderfully. Thank you! (Just subscribed.) Was playing that theme earlier today and really want to do a cover soon myself.

Thank you, and thanks for the sub! I’ll go check out your channel too, what type of music do you compose?

Thanks! For my own style, I tend to gravitate back towards more traditional orchestra in my writing. Been working on a project lately focusing on space travel and exploration. This vid dedicated to the International Space Station crew is the latest: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJiOsdeIesuYnNY.html

Hast mich als Trek´i voll ins Herz getroffen, Mega Geil !
Wunderschön 😍😍😍😍
Beautiful 🖖
Lovely! ❤🎶👏😁
Brava 🖖
I just found your channel - The Deep Space Nine theme was the first video I watched - then I looked through your videos, to see if there was a chance you'd play my favorite theme, the First Contact theme. -And WOW, I've never heard anyone play it so well before (I've watched several videos on YT). You definitely deserve a lot more views!!

Merry Christmas@@TheNerdyFlutist - and lots of Christmas-hugs ❤🤗from Denmark!
What a beautiful tone you have! I love the zippy edge of the low notes and the sweetness of the rest of the middle and upper registers!
Wonderful. I have watched Star Trek since the Original series. I am a few months older than that show.
Beautifully done! Thanks! When is your CD coming out?

@@TheNerdyFlutist, Good; hope to hear news soon about that.
This is absolutely beautiful and so emotional. Have you recorded this anywhere else? May just be my setup but it is playing back a little distorted and it would be good to hear it elsewhere to see if it is any better.

I’m currently working on a professional album of all my Star Trek covers, hopefully it’ll be done by early next year, stay tuned!
Sorry if this gets asked all the time and I've missed the answer, but I'm curious if you make your sheet music or backing tracks available to buy anywhere? This makes me want to take my flute out and practice again after about a decade and having trek music like this would make it way more fun

I do have some sheet music available! The link should be up in the description.

I'll totally be getting the inner light and probably Voyager ones, but I was really hoping this First Contact one would be on there too, any chance you have any plans to add it? Besides Inner Light it's my absolute favourite (I might have just replayed this video about 10 times 😅)

@@tiffinylawrie I plan on eventually releasing sheet music for all the solos I’ve arranged, it’ll just take some time to dictate the piano part out and polish it for performance. Now that I know there’s interest though, I’ll bump it up the priority list! Btw, if you want to stay up to date on when I release things, I’d love to have you on my Discord server! There should be a link in the description.
Good evening fellow Trekkie. If I wanted to play this on a tin whistle, what key would it need to be in?
@TheNerdyFlutist
4 ай бұрын
D! It’s the standard key of a tin whistle so should be easy to find
@jasonwalton1985

This is ace, thank you. Re-wownd a few times. Love the flute (view to a kill live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/mmSMq8puaLGtnKg.html
the sound set up is not right - awful and abrasive .... but your playing is superb!
