When you physically hold the ship and view from different angles you begin to appreciate the design. It's now one of my favourites!

I REALLY like the Discovery's design. It seems kind of silly (cool looking but silly) for the saucer section to spin and the entire ship to flip as it does when the spore drive activates but it's a beautiful design none the less.

The warp of that one it spins and goes down and coms out of warp really fast

Man I love the discovery, the show and the ship. It had it's own feel and look that made it a show that is still a star trek show but one that is truly unique. I also love the different look of the ship as well as it's color.

Thanks for your video of the model. I think your video gave us a clearer look at the ship than what actual show gave us in the entire first season!

I was horrified when they'd chosen Ralph MaQuarrie's Phase II Enterprise for Discovery. I hated it when it popped up in Starlog as Phase II was in development. Only John Eaves could realize the potential that I had completely missed. I am so grateful he did!

Loved the copper colour for the ship.

Also, if you hold it up to the light, the whole area around the impulse and shuttle bay becomes see through......and you have it too ;-P

It's my fav ship from a design and aesthetic view. I hope to own this soon

I just received my USS DISCOVERY model yesterday and I must say that I wasn't a big fan of the design of the ship when I saw it for the first time and even when I watched season one. That apparently is changing. It's growing on me. 😂

It's a nice model if you just admire it from a foot or two away. They got the bridge window wrong too. So other than that and the trademark misaligned windows, my copy is in pretty good shape.

I'm a StarTrek fan from the sixties and I like that design!

When I got mine a couple weeks ago, I saw how bad the windows were (it's one of the worst in my collection I think) and thought of you, lol. My saucer is a little crooked, and the decals on the lower saucer are a little damaged, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. The aztec detailing is so amazing, you'd think the window molding and paint wouldn't be as bad. The interconnecting dorsal and shuttle bay doors aren't as dark on mine as yours, but mine is 3645-A/A. I wonder how they do production, I'm in the western US, got mine before yours but its number was over 3,000 higher. Looking forward to being able to see more disco ships up close.

do not like the USS discovery but i think the team at eagle moss did good job of the model.

I've had absolute horrible luck with the Eaglemoss Discovery. I've received two that have severely crooked parts from the saucer to the nacelles to a point I can't fix myself and can't display either. I contacted customer service with pics and hopefully will get another replacement. I love the Discovery's design but i'm having a hard time recommending this variation only for poor quality control.

Well the hero ship is the Discovery which I love but the Kerala is a great ship.

It's really garish. There's almost not effort in the design to hide the joint.

I really do like the Disco - it takes the conventional trek design and really pushes it forward! Especially considering how sleek it looks compared to the original very clunky mcquarrie design it's based from or the 1st very squat design we were shown from before the start of the series - and I'm a bit of an aviation buff, but never saw the XB-70 cues in the Disco, now I can't unsee them!

I thought STD sucked as a show, and while I think some parts of the ship are just real ugly such as the extremely long nacelles, the spinning saucer section, the bronze color etc. But besides that, I love the futuristic/minimalist design they were trying to go for.

In the beginning, i don't like this design, is very very Klingon shape. But i'm like now after watch the Netflix show.

Why don't they put the starfleet and United Federation of Planets on the Discovery ships? That pisses me off 😤

I found the ending a bit lacking but I think it would have been better if we got a full 20-25 episode season. The last few episodes were just rushed.

+DrewLSsix most modern series are hardly that long - 10 to 15 seems to be the new standard and the whole production was a bit of a mess, so it's gonna show in the end product - especially as the last 2 eps were tacked on and a knee jerk reaction to criticisms -

S C. Not untrue, still a root issue imo for this show. Probably a root issue for others aswell, I know GoTs declining season legnth is effecting that show. Mid season breaks are another thing that I hate about modern shows! I have honestly dropped shows 8n the past because of the break and a loss of interest.

Nacelles are wayyyyy too long. ship would look so much better if they were half the length. I also hate the 2 ring/globe design, unnecessary and a bit of a waste of space. Much prefer the design of the Uss Kerala from the show.

2 things- for this price point, nothing should be a miss (once again- misaligned windows, etc), and 2) the most uninspired design in the Star Trek universe- hands down...it's just ugly...

it's subjective. I love this design. I like the bronze metallic color. It is very elegant. Like a minimalist version of the Excelsior. The most uninspired design in the Trek universe goes to NX-01.

Its a shame cause there are no flattering angles for it. Its a pretty ugly ship, but at the same time, the images on TV try to capture it in great lighting. I've seen plenty of better designs from fans over the months. I like the show. This is not worth $55.00. Nor is the $9,000.00 one from Anovos.

I found it flattering when viewed from side or side-front, and when the bronze color catches the light

The model is nice and the textures of the ship look great. The actual design... As someone who has grown up on star trek from even being very young, it's by far the most ugly Federation design I have ever laid my eyes upon.

I feel obliged to point out the Niagara class as a even uglier ship, but in its defence it was only a kitbash and appeared for half a second.

René Teegen well, you haven’t seen any decent ship then. Firstly, no ship is perfect. Secondly, do you want a list of better designed Starfleet ships? Defiant, Galaxy, Intrepid, Nova, Cheyenne, Sovereign, Ambassador, Steamrunner, Akira, Norway, Saber, Excelsior, Constitution, Miranda.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I personally really like the design and feel it's way better than some of the ships we have seen such as the NX Enterprise and the Enterprise J which are both very ugly in my humble opinion. As far as the Defiant goes I have always felt it looked too alien and nothing like what Starfleet would design. I just don't get all the ardent hate, it is often borderline rude. To each their own.

I think she's an incredibly ugly design. I love most of John Eaves' work, but he was unable to make Ralph McQuarrie's terrible design any less terrible. There were a few good looking ships on Discovery and any one of them would have made for a far better hero ship. Of course a better looking ship wouldn't have fixed the terrible writing, but that's another topic.

NihilusShadow haha I agree. It is ugly without a doubt. And it’s not even about it spin (although it it stupid) or that it is inconsistent with every freaking fact we know. It is because it is just a bad design. No one complained about DS9 Defiant looking so different, because it looks cool. It is a tough little ship. Discovery in the other hand, is just a mushroom growing pizza cutting in space.

Couldn't agree more. I'm not watching any more Discovery, gave it a chance and watched season one. Characters are awfully dislikeable and the ship is up there near the top of the top ten ugliest science fiction ships.

The discovery is number 3 on my personal top ten ugliest designs for a Sci fi hero ship. The longer I look at it the more I dislike its design. Good video again, hideous ship from a terrible show though. The discovery looks like it should be a Cardassian ship rather than a federation ship. None of it parts look right together.

It is on my personal top ten most beautiful designs for a sci fi hero ship. I disliked it at first, the more I look at it the more I love it. Show is fine. Season 2 is not bad. And Cardassian ships have no saucer sections. This screams Federation. I like its almost abstract minimalist take on the general Federation schema. In fact, that complete minimalism is what caught my attention. Simple, geometric, elegant. As far as Federation ships go, my top 10 favorite ranking is the following : Galaxy Class, Sovereign Class, Enterprise B, Discovery, Reliant, Refit, Kerala, Relativity, Defiant, Oberth Class. Least favorites: Intrepid, NX-01, Constellation, Enterprise A (original, always thought it was ugly as hell, those cylindrical nacelles and that hull color, ugh).

love the ship, hate this model. lacks detail and just basic and lazy,, like a child has painted it. totally not worth the asking price.

Cool model, but the show sucks.
