The closeups were fantastic! I saw details that I wasn't able to see on my own Disco D7!

🖖😎👍Very cool indeed and I myself own this one and the JJ Version one as well as alot of other Klingon ships from Eaglemoss as well. Very nicely well done and very informatively explained and executed in every detail and every way possible indeed👌.

I adore this things design. Suprised to see the nacelles are charcoal coloured. The only thing I wished in the show it would have had the orange glowy on the dorsal pod. Do they ever look glorious together on that stand you have. It's science fiction art. I agree with you on the paint. It's most likely accurate to have those light lines but it didn't quite present so sharply onscreen.

Well atleast this Discovery ship looks actually Klingon. In all fairness though this is a pretty well done reinterpretation of the D7.

The Klingons had been traveling the stars for centuries by the time Discovery comes along, why should their ancient starships look anything like their newer starships? If you want a a reason that fits within accepted Canon, the older ships seen in DSC could easily have originated as Hur,q technology.

@@DrewLSsix I preferred to think of them as loot from several star fleets they flattened with sheer numbers that had better defenses and larger cargo holds. If you lose a bunch of ships you'd fill out your ranks with whatever the enemies had left like several countries in World War 2. They did take over a federation star base in the show and just painted a klingon emblem lol.

It’s nice to see at least someone at CBS thought that something Klingon should actually look like something Klingon. Why couldn’t they have started the show like that.

The Klingon designs in Season 1 were all because of Bryan Fuller, the original showrunner and creator of DSC (who left DSC before Season 1 even started filming). According to the Eaglemoss booklets for the Season 1 Klingon ships, he told the Klingon ship designers to ignore the previous Klingon designs as he wanted them to be more 'alien'.

@@Tuskin38 considering at least some of those ships were centuries old it makes perfect sense that they would be very different. The Klingons first reverse engineered their ships from the Hur,q, and at the time of DSC that would have been about 900 years in the past.

@@DrewLSsix Unlike most of the knee-jerk reactions from the close-minded and, ironically, stuck in the past fans you actually can look at the design choices in a logical manner.

Gorgeous. I’m not a fan of the Discovery/JJ interpretation of Klingon vessels, but this one is perfect. I actually dig the light green paint detail work and the black nacelles. I came out of my recliner when the hologram appeared in the show, and when she showed up for that big battle... glorious. I’ll be grabbing this one.

Video length is 17:01. But yes, the DISCO D7 is awesome. I love most of the DISCO ships.

Great video! Always enjoy watching them. I have been wondering which D7 to get and after this review for me this one ticks all the boxs.

The nacelles took a bit of getting used to, but besides that I really quite like this look for the D7. I keep imagining Jerry Goldsmith's Klingon theme from TMP and TFF whenever I see it. The ship in general really takes me back to TMP's K't'inga battlecruisers.

Is it me or is the Klingon emblem on the ventral side a little off?

Her hull color is very close to what the Romulans use on their ships.

I remember a collective gasp when we saw 'a shooting star in deep space' during the short treks too. It was like "WTF!? Really? Do these guys do any research at all?" With this D7, it looks quite nice except for the warp nacelles which look terrible and un-Klingon like.

The kneck looks a little long for me. Otherwise I like it very much.

Wish Eaglemoss do a smaller scale exactly like the previous K'tinga movie released years ago.

Looks a lot like the Klingon D7 from JJ Abrams trek … most notably Star Trek 2009.

Agreed, i had to dig my JJ-D7 out to compare when my Disc D7 came in. For what its worth, i like this one more.

the design is fine - the paint app, not a fan of - and how can eaglemoss do all this paint detail, but cant line up some damn windows?

Klingon design Romulan green paint well at least it looks Klingon so Kurtzman is learning

The First Real Klingon looking ship in Discovery...i dont like Discovery bud this ship look better in comparison with D-7 or K´TINGA I love Special the 3 Klingon Emblem on this ship.God Job Damien.

Great review as always. A minor point - the "big, bold, and beautiful" Klingon emblem on the ventral surface is incorrect - both the left and right shapes curve down, and the decals have the left shape curving up. This is something that a lot of Klingon-related things get wrong. I've seen mirror-imaged decals on other Eaglemoss ships, but this is actually in the sculpt. The decal on the OS D-7 has the shapes correct - curving up on the right.

The tiny emblem on the back of this looks correct as well, so it's strange. Since it's in the sculpt, I guess they just mirrored the underside as a time/cost saver. It's a bit of a cheat...

@@GeeVanderplas Indeed - so many of the sculpts are right/left symmetric that it's probably a common timesaver, but there have been asymmetric ships in the collection before (renegade Borg, Breen, assimilated Arctic 1) so this just seems lazy.

Might have to get one of these. It'd be my first Klingon ship from Discovery. And that's not because I don't like the Klingon ships from Discovery. Just wanted to collect the fed ships first.

Hm, the ship artist for Cryptic said CBS didn't give them a length for the Ship, I wonder why Eaglemoss has one.

I dont care for the green paint. The model in the show was always a dark grey to me.

If you had to choose between this, the XL and the JJ version, which would you choose? How do they compare size wise? I'm looking to buy one of 'em, but like to balance cost and quality....

The XL is roughly 1" longer but a bit strangely, the nacelles are roughly the same size on all of them. Still if only one? I'd get the XL K't'inga....but if cost is a factor? The Disc D7 is still a good size and about 1/2 the price.

Nope, its the reverse. Romulans copied the D7.

Well, its better the Ent J, not that that is saying much. Anyone else see the Lizard from Spiderman when they view this new D7 ? The concept D4 is far better and much cheaper guys, check that one out if your Klingon fans. Another miss from Trash Trek.
