After following this build along for ages, have to say what dedication and skill, final product looks lovely!
I will miss the videos of this build, been helpful with my build so far and gained a lot of good advice and tips and how to avoid problems which have caused quite a few of us doing this serious headaches
Now they need to make a DS9 or Voyager, and I'll buy in on it 😅
happy days😀
Well done Ralph for staying the course and completing the model and mods the way Eaglemoss should have done from the start. It does look utterly amazing. All good things must come to an end, unless we are in the Nexus.... 😂 I guess the build could have been far more efficient and using larger parts, maybe even pre installed areas and way less fiddly "insert screw here, attach this part next issue". Give me an Ent E or Defiant build then it would be supper hard to resist.
Nice to see the complete work at last, great job, I loved watching the build!
Fantastic final I didn't do this one so many mods needed but fantastic mate
Cool set up. Like the LCARs background and the shuttles and the plaque
Congratulations on finishing this. I'm very glad I quit back on stage 50.
Congrats on finally finishing the build, it looks great in the display case 👍
The shuttles are a great touch too.
It looks absolutely amazing. Great work on this.
Congratulations!!!!! Well done! You've been a great help throughout so thank you.
Thats awesome!
I appreciate the honesty. Because I do not think the final model looks that good. That’s not down to the build, it’s just not well thought though. Other part builds look the business. This looks like a big Dinky toy. But thank you for taking us through it.
Well done Ralph I am glad you are finally finished
I am done Ralph with mine but have not placed the DEKALS yet as I ordered some light gray foam clay to see if I can attack some of the light bleed.
ah the Bussard decals arrived, good. Looks amazing in the display case

21:39 Soak them? It's not just light leaking out, It'll be water leaking in.
I am supposed to be getting my first shipment this month but not sure it is worth all the extra work. Loved watching your videos but it needs alot of corrections for the money evolved. Not sure if I should cancel it.
I'm glad to see one of these is done it looks great I'm So behind on mine . Are there a lot of light leaks

enough to notice, but not enough to spoil the model.
On one hand I will miss your many sighs of frustration, on the other hand Im glad its over for you. Thanks for sharing. I'm not a fan of the clear rods, have you thought about supporting the saucer section with monofilament? Might hide better than the rods in the dark, they seem to glow from the lights.

I've just finished my build, and I haven't had any issues with the lighting or assembly. The only modifications I made was two eliminate the light bleed between all sections. Other than that I didn't alter anything, and it is built as described in the manual. I think it is an absolutely awesome model of the Enterprise D, the pride and joy of my collection. Yes I agree it is not been an easy build, but I think that's half the fun having to work at it.

I never originally planned to mod this like i did, but the power supply mod was the best, i would hate to change the batteries all the time, and switch on eash part. That was a bad design.

@@R_T_Ralph Yes I must agree, all the batteries and switches are a ridiculous idea, I was talking with the idea of changing the switches to remote control but I'm not sure how I would have gone about it. I don't plan in having the lights on every day as I have it lit by spotlights I have a lonely turn the lights on to show people, should I just made sure I installed the longest lasting batteries I could find.
I have followed your updates, Emgos and two other channels. There's enough visible pain in cabling up every single habitat light. I am now overly content to have bridge, running lights, nacelles and deflector dish only .. I can't endorse this any more as a fully lit starship model.
Would fabric paint on the back of the circuit board stop that from happening

probably.
Which pcb was the problem? Wanna stop any issue before it starts

the centre one in the saucer, and i think the one in the neck was being pinched too. model way too heavy, and when it leans, it pushes on something. I really should have done my own lighting kit and resin windows when i had a chance.

@@R_T_Ralph I’m gonna cut a thin bit of plastic to reinforce the centre pcb can’t do much with the neck one yet but I’m wondering if it’ll be affected if I’m building it as is per instructions, looking back though you’d think they could have put the neck pcb in between the metal frame where no ammount of pressure and weight could affect it
It’s a great idea but falls far short, a very wishy wash paint scheme, little curvature on the saucer and engineering hull at the edges and those awful seam lines. :(
Dont like Abos for build kits. When the full kit is available i would get it.

I can appreciate that, i am already planning on stripping this down, fixing the windows, lighting, gaps and making it a million times better, but not this year.
what is the cost of a build such as this?
@R_T_Ralph
18 күн бұрын
I worked out, if its almost £50 per month, and ignore the final issue which only has 2 parts as the sum of the costs makes it easier. £50 times 30. Basically, too much, but it was a fun build and looks great as a model, but has massive potencial for someone who can see this for what it could be. probaply cheaper to get a similar sized model and pay a pro to light and paint it. I still enjoyed the build, and love to look at it.
No you are incorrect for the price of that kit. It is extremely bad. I sunk over $1200 in fixing my model, aftermarket parts, 3D printed parts a whole new lighting systems, paint corrections, gap correction light leak corrections, Yea It was extremely bad.
Man that is one shitty model given the price and work involved. Light leaks everywhere, seams where there shouldn't be, WAY overengineered, too heavy, can't even hold itself together. Flash rates are wrong. I feel sorry for the people who bought this.
