mine came in today....I would have had a stroke if we didn't have access to videos...I would have broken him trying to figure out the transformation...I put clear tape on the top of the head and on the purple chest pieces because those areas seem to have contact when transforming it. other than that mine is great; strong joints and a lot of fun; can't be in a rush transforming him! lol

That was an impressive review. I have no idea how you figured out all 3 modes without instructions but I’m extremely grateful cause I never could have. I will definitely say it’s a great figure and the engineering is so well done. The lack of paint and boring looking weapons are really the only negative I see. Everything else is a home run. I don’t think the DX9 has a chance in the versus but I’m looking forward to it still. Incredible review Sony very well done!

Nice figure, I'm glad I've ordered him. Think the main benefit to not having much paint, is that it would be scrapping off based on the transformations. Also, it's brought the price done loads for what might end up being a placeholder should FT/Takara ever pull their figures out.

I agree so strongly. So many of the painted products these days turn into a chippy mess, FT in particular. It is crazy - I think they are trying to cater to an audience that doesn't bother to transform or play with thing,s and just buy them to have in one pose on a shelf forever, which doesn't suit a lot of us "transformer" fans/toy collectors. I think Tak will continue with the outrageous prices just the same however.

Wow! Great review! Great looking Blitzwing, too! Im saying prayers for Bobby's transformations already. Looks like this company is getting better with transformation. This looks better than their seekers. Now if only they can figure out how use the paint gun.

Wow he is stunning. Perfect look. The Legacy version robot mode was just about perfect, but this IS perfect, but the alt modes are also perfect. I may be trying to get this guy.

Great review! I'm pretty excited for my copy to arrive. TE and DS have knocked it out of the park with their previous efforts, and even though this is under a different banner, it seems to be following that trend. I would like to see more paint and finish down the road but overall this Blitzwing looks amazing. Ditka is about to be relegated to permanent tank mode

Wonderful, informative review!! This is like my literal 9th or 10th time watching it. I usually don’t transform my figures to help increase their longevity. Usually get a second for alt mode when funds allow. It’s great to see the transformation happen so fluently since I’ll probably never do it myself! lol Awesome video!

Thank you for doing this! Saved me so much time and frustrations. I agree all 3 modes look great. My only criticism is that it is bigger than FansToys Thomas and that the beige color is very light to the point that it looks white in color. Overall, it is an excellent figure.

I just received this figure, and the color is more beautiful in real (dark purple). Very very good figure. Startoys rules !

Yes I can see paint wouldn’t be as effective if it’s totally scraped up after the first transformation/s. But then I’m in the minority that doesn’t really transform my Transformers, I’m content just knowing they can

You should add Golden Zhen 少主狸 to your list of Chinese reviewer references on KZread. He often receive early samples for review. He goes into deep detail about transformations, and sometimes offer reverse transformation videos. They have machine-translated captions; not entirely accurate but enough to get the points across. For this ST-01 he did bot to jet to tank on his sample copy 3 months ago. Some viewers might remember him from the recent shoulder ratchet fix tutorial for TnR's TR-02 Commander of Stars (Galaxy Convoy/Cybertron Optimus Prime).

Awesome work, thanks for the review. Transformation wasn't as bad as I expected it, considering some of the steps in other DS/TE stuff. Really liking mine,, I just wish there was more paint and more sculp details or linework. Something to break up all the super smooth, super toon panels - especially in the legs. Other than paint, FansToys will have quite the challenge with this one

I have the DX9 Gewalt Blitzwing, but I still kinda wanna get this one. I love new sculpts and transformations.

Eagerly awaiting my copy! Blitzing has always been my favorite G1 character and I wasn’t fully satisfied with DX9 because he’s so blocky. Good figure but I wanted something cartoon accurate. Awesome review and appreciate the comparison!

Honestly I'm glad there's not a ton of paint. All of my newer fully painted MPs have chips and flakes all over them from normal transition and posing. It's really frustrating.

I had no idea that this was connected to Deformation Space. But after watching your transformation, that totally makes sense....... That being said I can't wait to get my copy and I'm happy I bought it as the DS seekers are the best in the game. Great review

I absolutely love him..i think he very cartoon accurate and in alot of ways transform like the g1 toy..besides the paint, fantoys has their run for the money..i think fantoys has trouble with stability thats why its taken so long..maybe because they put to much diecast

Damn right about the instructions. You got tank mode 98% right btw. That purple torso piece on the bottom flips back over and the purple flap folds back inside.

Great review. Many thanks for the transformation tips. I personally rely on you or Paik to walk me thru these. I’m *hoping* to put this vid to good use soon but mine was delivered two days ago to God-Knows-Where by some BS shipping company and ShowZ has basically told me I’m on my own. Sorry, I’m just frustrated AF. This figure looks good, but I find myself prioritizing the paint quality more as my collection evolves. So much like with the DS Blaster, it’ll be an easy swap-out for me if the FT ever drops.

Yeah sometimes their shipping is wack, I usually never pay for the faster shipping because they contract with a company who loses packages, I stick with the regular USPS one

Looks great in robot mode if you are going for "toon". It's just a bit too big though, especially next to FansToys Thomas. They should be the same but Blitzwing's head is huge compared to the Astrotrain one. He looks great on the shelf but the size difference kinda bothers me and it's dissapointing that I have to overlook it. Otherwise, it is quite a nice figure for the price especially. Will need to wait for FansToys to fill that final shelf space for good. ONly had that on preorder now for literally 5 years.

Still digging the aesthetic of Gewalt more in bot and plane modes but I definitely like the Star Toy one too. Gewalt has a weak tank mode so I think I will get this version to have in tank mode.

I’m a fan of te blaster and seekers, this looks good as well

Quick question I’m thinking of. Picking him up how would you rate the plastic is it more closer to xtransbots or something like mastermind creations or fanstoys in terms of feel and quality Edit: is there diecast as well?

It feels identical to the TE mirage, it's basically the same company and the plastic quality is almost the same. There is diecast only in the feet, but overall it's relatively heavy because of all the parts

How's the plastic quality/feel on this, TM? it seems hollow on the VT.

I still think if this had just a bit more paint it would look and feel tons better, and I would have gladly paid more for it, but I'm still very happy with my purchase. At this price, this figure is a no brainer for a triple changer of this quality.

I received my copy today, my thoughts are it's built good but the lack of paint is quite noticeable and it takes away from the figure and because of that it really doesn't feel premium at all

GRRRRRRREAT video. I almost canceled this guy BUT I didn’t. He’s on his way and I was really feeling anxious about the quality. That’s gone now. This designer is really impressive.

Looks like you missed the fillers for the top of his calves. It's under the grey knee joint and folds out to fill the gap at the top of the cream panels.

The US companies tend to get these TE/DS/ST figures much later than china, additionally TFS is known to be om the slower end. Sorry this doesn't help you but expect a significant wait with them

The way that wing piece is slid down in bot mode is annoying. Makes it look like a step was missing in the transformation

Better vs would be the kfc. But you no longer have it. They look similar The DX9 not so much. I always considered the DX9 version as IDW where as this and the KFC/xtrans looks G1.

I prefer the finish on this guy over the other DS releases. I never liked the really matt look.
