Yeah, no rotten language, no nude scenes, no Politically Correct racial elements, just society as it actually was. Today, Hollywood cranks out nothing but high-budget porn films.

Now Hollywood films are more visual or action oriented or anyway less language, so perhaps to sell in other countries. Maybe those other countries would also like to have some good dialogue, might be Hollywood lately doesn’t provide it.

@@glenmcfarland6691 Marsha Hunt was gorgeous, but even in the 1940's she was very involved in leftist political causes (one was 'The Hollywood Anti-Nazi League', whatever that was all about). Later on, she denied any sympathy for communist or other Far-Right causes. Whatever. Shouldn't mix politics with movie-making.

This is a real delight. Everyone knew just where their character fit into the story, what kind of flavor those roles could create, and how to keep the tightness in the overall 'structural tension.' And Warren Hull had plenty of chops to lift any story. Thanks for posting this treat!

Lovely film. These B films are often dismissed as inferior, but thanks to YT and this channel, I'm getting to see so many of them. They were only 'inferior' in terms of budget. In every other respect, they were very well done and did a lot with what they had. Re Marsha Hunt, I read that she was Selznick's pic for Melanie in Gone With The Wind, but due to studio contract arrangements, the part was handed to Olivia de Haviland. A great pity, as she would have been perfect for the physically frail but emotionally strong character that Margaret Mitchell created. OdH always seemed totally miscast to me.
