Love the fabric you chose for the background of the stars. I’ve also used the WRONG SIDE of a low volume fabric to lighten it even more.

Love watching how you show easy ways to do a block that looks difficult. I'm a scrappy quilt maker, I grew up helping my mother do quilts "using what we had".

Thank you! It’s called a sawtooth star. I’ve done it for years. I don’t have a written pattern but there are tons of free patterns of this one around. Check the internet or Pinterest.

Hi, I’m enjoying this with your detailed info; I’m a novice and learned that I should wash my fabric before cutting. I’m wondering if that’s not a rule “set in stone”? please clarify if you don’t mind? 🧐

It’s not a set in stone rule. Some people do and some don’t. I never have and have never had a problem. It’s a personal preference thing. I’ve never had anything mess up.

The only one we have left is the multi background in a 108. It’s out of print so we bought what they had left. Were sold out of the regular size bolts.

Depends on how big you want to make it. It’d start with about 2 1/2 yards.

Because I’ve already done a video like that and I’m trying to show different methods. There is no extra fabric used in this method.

O I love that cream background fabric but unfortunately, it’s out of stock! It’s so disappointing for a beginner quilter to want to make a project and the fabric is no longer available, sadly. I live in Canada and quilt shops are few…I don’t even know where they are anymore. I’ve ordered from the states but it’s so expensive when duty, etc is covered…I cannot afford it. Does anyone know?

I put it in the description. The color blocks are 3 7/8 inch squares and the flying geese section of the background was a 7 1/4 inch square cross cut.
