My favourite among the new Star One singles. There's everything: epic, dream, crazy tempos, rich harmony, even some Haken-like sound in the first variation which totally delighted me. Mills and Jennings amazing as they can be (and it's a lot 🤣). Mr Lucassen please don't stop doing magic.

You know you are a rock star when Arjen is wearing a T-shirt with your face on it! Love it! Hail from Iceland!

The song is heaps sick, but the watch Mike is wearing is what really got me.

In a world of cookie cutter, mass-produced music, this music creates experience, storytelling, emotions, thoughtfulness, vocal excellence and musical skill all brought together in a very approachable piece. I wish more people will get to experience this and be taken on the rollercoaster and come out on the other side of the trip maybe just a little bit more moved by the power of music.

Well its really great to hear Michael and Ross sing togheter. They should do more stuff togheter after this because they really is a good match. :)

I absolutely can't follow what's going on in this song lyrically, which is actually not a complaint, because I also couldn't follow what was going on in Primer 90% of the time (which I think was intentional on the part of the movie) - this is great. Mike and Ross are a great combination.

I wouldn't say it's intentionally confusing (the movie follows Abe's timeflow so it has a strict logic) but it's definitely written to be watched at least twice (situations and dialogue change meaning the second time).

Great song, Mike Mills and Ross Jennings voices fit together so well!

I can easily understand that Ed Warby is featured on so many of Arjen's projects he is an amazing drummer with great groove and also very inventive. I heard him first on Gorefest, but he does shine on this proggrier stuff too.

Another complete banger Arjen two of my favorite singers. I can really feel some gentle giant and maybe even some rocket scientists brutal architecture? Just beautiful.

Absolutely brilliant. I love the layers, the complexity, the rhythms. There are some echos of Guilt Machine in there too, which I love!

Thank you Arjen for all this magic and the outstanding musicians youre always surrounded with

Great track!!! I always thought that Star One was the "heavier" side of Arjen but this song is more like an Ayreon "proggy" product. In any case great quality as usual. Ross and Michael vocals fits very well togheter. Thanks Arjen for all your music.

(as I understood it) The idea is that Ayreon is a project where storylines are ongoing between songs, while Star One is more for the self contained songs...

Finally another genius recognizes my favorite movie. I'm just listening away and like this is Primer all day

on an album about time, it's awesome to hear a song based on the movie Primer, probably the best time-travel movie ever made. if anyone hasn't watched it I highly recommend, and it makes one appreciate the songwriting here that much more

I must be dreaming. This is amazing! I can't believe how good this was. I've been a fan of Michael Mills since The Theory of Everything (and hearing him consistently on every project since then has been a blast), but to hear him sing with and duo a positively prog-licious song, heavy on the synths as I like, with non other than Ross, another one of my favourite singers.. is a dream come true!

I've been waking up with this song in my head lately, which is a great way to start the day. Arjen's music and Mike's lyrics go as well together as Mike's and Ross's voices.

Can we make the laws of physics be the way it's impossible for Arjen to not have Mike on all of his albums? Like, if he tries to not have Mike, time reverses and fixes the situation, throwing Mike into the album? Oh wait... Mike is on this album... It's working! They're such a great duo. I think this is my favorite music ever.

Just a year ago I saw for the first time a video of Ayreon, and now I really appreciate this Star One and Ayreon music. I love this, I guess Arjen read many science fiction novels I loved to read in the seventies and after (we are about same age). It is hard to ignore a clip with gluons, photons, math and probably fifty shades of grey. Looking forward to the album.

One listen to this straight (and one with Elizabeth), then I wake up next morning and find the melody at 4:25 has stuck itself in my head as an earworm. That really doesn't happen very often, and illustrates Arjen's remarkable talent for composing, arranging, recording and producing. Great to see another Star One album coming. The first one was amazing, the second one good. Can he top that first effort from 20 years ago?
