I absolutely agree, this is by far one of my favorite rpg from the ps1 era. i remember buying this game with my brother, we didn't know anything about this serie at the time and found a gem of a game. One of us started the game with Claude and the other one with Rena, and a had a very different experience with the game, honestly I can't wait to play the remake!

I'm surprised no one noticed that it was animated by Yostar's animation studio. Yostar is the company who publishes Azur Lane and Arknights, and they made an animation studio for the OVAs for those games. I think this is the first time they've worked on something that isn't related to Yostar-published products. It certainly explains the stylish way they did the fight sequences with the sliding around. It's really cool!

Just finished my 1st ever play through and I absolutely loved it! Started with Claude and will move onto Rena’s perspective soon. Idk if I can ever separate them for the other endings cause they are so cute together.

I saw a bunch of RPGs in the Nintendo Direct and the art style caught my eye, thus looked up upcoming RPGs and found this, this one called me more for its "open world" and just played the demo and I'm in love, can't wait so much

Wow such an amazing little video for my favourite rpg of all time. That ending with him being the hero of light is so amazing if you know the story.

This opening is exactly how intense I thought the combat was when i was a kid first playing this game. I can't believe they didn't pretend like it was actually subtle all along. It makes me want a full anime and for it to go this hard.

@ChadVigilante Yeah. The battle system is even more involved. I love that godspeed is immediately available. But universe is crazy on Claude and nigh impossible on Rena. I had to train her to level 10 just to beat Allan. Thankfully you can get The call in characters before the boss in Cross Cave and retries let you keep your bonus circle.

0:46 All 12 playable characters (+1 new) in one shot. I hope we can actually do this in the game. Like, we're not limited to just 8 character slots and I can get Dias as Claude or Leon as Rena. Bowman and Ernest were also called wastes of slots by old guides, which is a bummer if you want to keep Opera who's usually considered top tier. I hope they actually addressed that.

Is no one going to talk about the fact that Claude was wielding a literal Sword of Light at the end there?

I was sold as soon as i saw the art style. This just cements it.

I could never have hoped for more than what they did to this game. Couldnt even imagine some of the tweaks he thought to implement. The bar and the example has finally been set on modern jrpgs and jarpgs. Putting our beloved sprites into a fully realized 3d environment slinging 3D spells and skills. So creative and innovative.

OMG, I'm so happy there's gonna be a remake coming soon! One of the best JRPGs I've played in the early 2000s!!

I last played this way back in the early 2000s. I loved it. I ended up losing the game when a friend borrowed it then moved away. Its been so long I barely remember the story, so when I play it again, it will be like I'm playing it for the first time. I am pretty fired up about that, because I know its amazing.

So nice to get this remastered. Other games that would be amazing with this treatment: Lunar Chrono Trigger FF6 (3 on SNES) Breath of Fire 2 Lufia 2 Secret of Mana Excited about Super Mario RPG too.

It is cannon that all 13 party members survive the events of the game, so its cool to see them all together. Pretty sure they are going to keep the recruit limit to 8 though.

​​@@Doomerang01Eh. It kind of is a spoiler. That's saying that every single main character survives the events of the game when that's not guaranteed going into the thing. We know they survive since we played the game, but it's not some sort of rule that characters can't die just because it's a Star Ocean game. People who have never heard of the game, and are just going through it now would be spoiled by that information.

Had so much FUN throughout my demo playing! Can’t wait for its final release! Hopefully Square do their best on PS5 optimization, 4k+HDR+60fps is a must.

I really hoped they could do a reboot for their Star Ocean anime too, considering the quality and technologies we have as of now! They really deserved it.

Man has it really been over 20 years since I played the original. I spent hundreds of hours on that game and beat it twice. Just to see the other endings that were possible. Watching this animation brought back so many memories.

I have played the original Playstation game last summer. Despite the toughness of the game, it's one of my all time favorite JRPGs of all time. I just finished this remake, and I am so glad I had the chance to enjoy it once more. In fact, if it wasn't for the dedicated fans and Square Enix, we would have never gotten this. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart!

This game was my childhood! I am so happy that they remade it! I can't wait to get it. I would also like to take a brief moment to give a few words to my childhood friend, Nicholas, who also dearly loved this game. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2022. I wish you got to see this buddy.

I literally still have this on my psvita, waiting for the day I go back and (finally) finish it.

Simply incredible. ❤ The best game of the series is back. This Star Ocean is a rare and unique gem. The story and characters are awesome. I hope the future of the saga follow this one. We Need a Star Ocean 2 part 2, 3 or like this on Star Ocean 7! 🎉❤
