“I got tagged, my ears are still ringing” is spoken by Peppy in the final game. He says it if you don’t shoot all the ships firing at him.

Ah, it seems this I believe is a different take. Unfortunately TCRF didn't differentiate between a cut line and another take for this game. Sorry about that!
I remember Bill literally saying "husky unit: cover the base. Bulldog unit: don't let anything through." But there never was any hint on why there should be two different units. They all just looked the same in their ships. Now as taking a closer look at the endscene with General Pepper suddenly everything makes sense 😂 Thank you for that!
The line that is related to Wolf at 10:49 has been used in the 3DS version of the game, but like you said, it was cut from the game before it was released the first time around, most likely for the reason to not trigger people at the time.
I remember a friend in Jr. High school letting me borrow the promo tape for it. After watching it I saved up as much as I could to get the game when it came out. Always wished I could find that promo tape again... I know it's on youtube but I want to try collecting them all.

An amazing work as always!!! I didn't knew many of this facts
Those tutorial lines from Peppy where he tells you how to do various maneuvers were all replaced by other lines where he just advises you to perform certain actions and the controls are unspoken text in the box. As for the lines where the characters say they're going different directions, there are lines like them in Venom 1. Falco says 'I'll take the left', Peppy says 'I've got the right', and Slippy says 'I'm going left'.
Pretty good, I loved starfox growing, the screen shot of the early arwings, look like they just didn’t get the textures drawn at that point

Great video! I loved playing this game when I was younger, and Falco is one of my favorite video game characters. Was there any information about characters who were cut when making the jump from Star Fox 2 (like Fay and Miyu) or new ones that were considered? Were guest characters like Katt who already appears on Zoness and Bill meant to appear in other levels? Again, great video!

@@TheObsessiveGamer Hiya.
The N64 was all about big, new experiences, so on paper, a distinctly arcade-style game that was straight up replicating gameplay from the previous gen sounds like it would have been destined to fail. But the cinematic experience (along with the most brutal rumbling of any game to this day, I'll never forget blowing the train up for the special exit to Macbeth) really was novel in the mid 90s. And we all had our minds blown when we discovered that on-foot multiplayer was real, and not just a recess legend
From what I heard, Zoness was always intended to be polluted and the clean water was just a placeholder.

Interesting. Should look further into it.
This is a very special game to me. The first time i saw a game in 3D. the N64 was the Christmas Present for me and my brother and we got Lylat Wars as well. I found it so impressive and immersive and it gave me a feeling that i can still remember to this day and that i will never forget. Since then i love Space. And also, it was and still is a very good game. one of my favorite of the N64 and still the best Starfox game i played. So i think it was good after all they canceled the SNES title, or we maybe would have gotten a very different game on the N64, or even no Starfox at all.

I imagine we still may have gotten SF64 but later on, like maybe 1999? But I imagine they would try to innovate further or add a new story to it at that point

should just released starfox 2 on snes. it would just hype it up more for when the 64 version finally came. smh. i dont think fans would be put off by it cuz snes was on its last legs and the new 32 bit poly hype which was happening. lots of ppl had snes and loved starfox so it would sold well. gave nintendo more time for starfox on 64.... oh well tho. also the beta elements look way better then the final. especially the hud and boost. also wish they kept the snes arwing design. lol. skinny ones. at least starfox 2 finally got released tho on mini.
This was a wonderful video. Very well researched and I even learned a few new things. I hoped for more giga leak content though. I would have loved to see some of the beta levels found for example

When star wolf shows up a second time, they have upgraded ships and they do have dual red lasers

That's the plan once I hit Star Fox 2.
I've noticed that while N64 early Alphas/Betas like StarFox or Mario Kark R lack detail compared to final titles, they bo appear to run on Highter Screen Resolution than final -versions. It might be difficult to spot on old VCR tapes, but may be Nintendo had games running on Expansion Pack even before N64 was on sale, but games were likely less than 64mbit games on Alpha, hence the lack of detail. So they did go for more detail and speed rather than resolution at the end of the day.
Loving playing this again and im kinda shocked how good it looks I mean this was really an N64 tech showcase
Man there is some cut weapon content that they could easily bring back in future games. Surprised they never explored more laser weapons after all these years. The closest thing is the double lock on in zero anf commands different ships

Honestly they should have instead done a remake of Star Fox 2 there if they were so hellbent on the Walkers.
Actually, Shigeru Miyamoto didn’t want to be shown up by a bunch of snotty British teenagers making a Star Fox sequel on what would be considered an inferior outdated system once the N64 console came out, so he actively went out of his way to sabotage Argonaut’s development of Star Fox 2, ultimately ending with it getting cancelled and hidden from the public for the longest time all because Shigzy was being a giant freaking manchild instead of the gaming saint Nintendrones naively believe him to be. He also did the same nonsense to Rare, just sayin’, and you all wonder why they went over to Microsoft so readily. Sheesh, damn Nintendrones. 😒

I think Cornelia is supposed to be covered in clouds, not ice. Like you’re fighting above the cloud line, but the planet is like Coruscant and covered in sky scrapers. But then they made it less similar to Star Wars.

I personally think this was snow simply cause you can actually shoot it and it leaves a burn mark. That and all hills are also covered in snow. If this were clouds, they could use the cloud effect from SM64 to make it look more like it

@@TheObsessiveGamer Come to think of it, it also explains those ads that would come packaged with Super NES games, advertising Super NES games besides the one you had just opened. The advertisement for the original Star Fox was definitely noticeable because, 1, it was big enough to be a poster, and 2, it had puppets that are unmistakably supposed to be Fox, Peppy, Slippy, and Falco. Though the puppets in question are obviously different from the ones that were used in the Nintendo Direct presentation of Star Fox Zero. On that note, I know the puppets used for the Nintendo Direct presentation were made by the Jim Henson Company. Don't know who made the puppets for the Super NES game ads, if they weren't made by Nintendo themselves.

So 64 is essentially a remake of the original, 64 3d on the 3ds is a remake/ port of 64, and zero is a remake/reimagined version of the original and 64 with extra elements from the then scrapped 2.
