Overdrive was alright. Ran fine until they ran Jumptown concurrently. But I was playing primarily for the reward: the F7A.

Here Here. I hope I completed all the tasks. my mission history is a mess because I helped four other org members and two randoms complete their missions so I cant discern which is which. Also. given the fact that I have yet to receive another mission in six days, I'm pretty sure they're done.

That was certainly one of the dumbest moves Ive seen CIG make. In my opinion that list isnt very long, either. In general I tend to like all the changes, but putting 2 events concurrent to each other is a really really bad idea, no one could get anything done. It wouldve been worse if they'd have also made it free fly week. AT THAT POINT, I would have said "oh ya theres some drama here" The drama from people lacking reading comprehension seems like it stems more from peoples lack of education rather than anything wrong on CIG's part.

Thanks for contributing guys. Here's to hoping they learned not to do run events simultaneously, but I won't hold my breath. In my case, I (should have) completed most of Initiative with a another guy in the small discord group I belong too, and helped two other randoms. Dragging the event out so long was both a blessing and a curse in my case since my current job has me on the road working for 30 days, then off for two weeks. Thankfully, hotel internet is better than it used to be.

I kind of understand their frustation . You have to do the Xeno mission for the f7a upgrade but you can't be sure that you finish it . People still bough that ship for 175 dollars. I would be pretty annoyed at the end of xenothreat if i did not receive the upgrade i worked for true all the bug and such . I had to do the Box mission 23x time for it to Finlay spawn all the box i needed to complete the mission .

I just tried it a third time, not trying a fourth until after the patch. If they don't get it fixed, they need to give it to everyone that finished phase 4. If they don't, they'll just kill more interest. They're already using FOMO to get people to play this bug ridden mess. It's creating a LOT of bad will from the few people I've talked to.

Yeah, the frustration is a reward is walled behind an acheivement that legit may not be attainable. I am on the bug train that doesnt allow me to progress the missions. I dropped some $ on the f7 mk2 with the expectation I would be able to complete these tasks and get the token and now i just cannot. Havent found a workaround. No fix. Nothing. Ive pledged a lot over the years and get the state of the game etc but this is frustrating and fairly upsetting.

They shouldn't make anybody do anything. Pretty effed up that they release an MK2. I guess forget everyone who's owned an MK1 for 8 years... unless they spend more money.

Last night my son bought a Caterpillar, and four of us also bought Furies. We took them out and tried a couple of LRT bounties, and it was pretty fun. We plan to use the Cat/Furies to try and board the Idris during the Xenothreat mission coming up. Hopefully we can get one or two more of our friends to buy Furies too and we'll have a full squadron.

My first month into SC, I realized delivery missions were a colossal waste of time. That was at the start of this year. And I have to say that they have not improved much. Clipping of boxes, falling through the ground, disappearing entirely with just a marker, or admin boxes that don't work, or cargo boxes that don't work. Needless to say, Phase 5 has been a real struggle. Not even counting the amount of 30k's that I experience, coincidentally, while I'm doing this mission.

If you dont place to much emphasis on the state of play, do a bit of averything with no real goal in mind....it'll be fine. Its far too early in the patch cycle to expect too much, it will get worse once the patch goes live, then after about 6 weeks should be playable, its a rinse and repeat. Go play a proper game in the mean time, SC isn't quite there yet, it will eventually, and Pyro, master modes/engineering/ Fire management/Ship Armour/Ship rebalancing and more realistic ingame ship pricing will make it all worthwhile, hang in there chuck.

I'm pretty sure I'm a bit of a masochist, and I'm in this for the long haul. I think you're absolutely correct. However, the fact that you have specific missions that need to get done makes it actually impossible to play with a generalized purpose. Which is how I usually play. I don't know how many times I did this mission. I don't know how many days it took.I don't know how many servers I hopped, i don't know how many times I switched regions. I finally finished an on EU server at 4 am. A little bit of everything happened on that mission, falling through elevators, clipping through the walls of EVAing through the voids of the space station trying to get out. Having the box stick to your hands. Finally made it work by pulling out my multi-tool and switching loading zones. Having a crazy turn of events where your box despawns. Then, after switching zones again, or rather station levels, it randomly appeared again. It's like, what do you do? Is this bug report worthy? How would you even report this as a bug? It's just star citizen. Everything is cool and normal, perfectly normal Star Citizen things.🤣 What are proper games precious?🤪

Hope CIG sort out the ship inventory size as that will be quite the pain when upgrading ship components

What happened was people were demanding money to let you run spk , after they were paid 8-10 mil auec per player , when the payee would arrive the player pirates would kill the payee . That's what happened on 3 servers I saw . Screen shot completion of each phase I did cause we all know how cig is .

My experience was the opposite. Me and a friend asked if someone can help us, ended up having 10 people. Some just sitting outside making sure no griefers could interfere.

@@Alysm-Aviation The SPK phase was all over the place, because it was a server-wide event. I grouped up with a full squad, and we all arrived at SPK.. only to have the mission complete on its own before we even landed. We just all sat there blinking for a few minutes while we confirmed that yes, it counted.

**PHASE 5** I was able to complete (after many, many attempts across many server hops) if you do complete the final mission it is best to have you QR code showing on screen (QR can be activated from graphics setting, bottom of the listings) then when you get the mission completion message take a screenshot. If something should happen you can send this screenshot to CIG and as long as it has QR code they will sort it out pretty ricky tick.

I understand a lot of server performance issues lynchpin on server meshing and replication layer working in tandem but I feel like they probably could find ways of making things a bit better. It feels very neglected at the moment and I feel like if they spent some serious time on it, things developmentwise would probably actually accellerate.

Not on us to scan a QR code for proof of completion. My proof is I spent the money on the MK2 I did your mission chain now gib me my coin.

So I like the general idea of the Overdrive missions, but I do think that quest lines that give a solo reward (eg. a single seater ship) should be achievable solo. I got the F7C and I really want the F7A but I won't be able to finish the missions because as a mostly solo player with limited game time, organizing teams when needed is tricky. What adds to the confusion is there are some sections that you can solo and others that you can't. Anyway as a player who is monetized and was very energized by the missions and the reward it's been pretty frustrating. (Mission bugs aside)

You get a reward for armor but if you die once, you lose it forever until next server wipe, character repair (possibly not anymore). There is still not a way to retrieve any flair items so most rewards aren't really useable especially when you can die randomly in an elevator or the many bugs.

The thing is Bored, the extra time they are giving people isn't going to mean everything if folks are logging in and thinking they already have it done. Sure you may not get priority missions for it popping up but what if the issue is on CI's end and their records haven't recorded the completion correctly? If anyone from CI is watching this - a word of advice: Just give people the rewards. Even if there is a missing mission indicator on your end... just give it to them. The fallout of players who slogged through 5 weeks of the pain and suffering that was Overdrive would be staggering. They will revolt in a way like we've never seen before if they end up rightly or wrongly getting cheated out of their upgrade and armor. It won't be worth the negative press, trust me. Just give it to them, take the L as a learning experience and move on to the next event where hopefully we will be better able to conduct and track this stuff. It will make your lives (and Invictus) a much better and more positive experience for everyone.

I second this advice.

All they would need to add is a mobiglass journal update "thanking you" for helping with that current phase of the event. That way we know we completed it

The desync on 3.23 is a definite concern.

I haven't had the luck to be able to progress through the Overdrive missions, literally bugs each step in my experience. But as you say, they will most likely repeat these missions, so a later day!

One thing you forgot to mention is that only mission 5 will be available once 3.23 hits. So you need to have done 1-4 before that if you wanna complete it. It was stated in the "XenoThreat is coming" email sent out.

The thrill of discovery in this game never gets old.

I was lucky in that my only issue with the supplies delivery mission was no knowing which machine to drop the boxes in after the first one.

Before they said anything about not getting the priority missions I did message them about my progress. I was done but in my logs almost all my missions were marked as first in each phase for however many times it needed to be done.

Managed to get all overdrive missions done, looking forward to XenoThread event

The elevators in Port Tressler let go from the Habs to the Galleria are still broken. I don’t know why it always seems like they’re broken only at Tressler. Well, maybe not only but mostly.

Overdrive has definitely had some issues. I had it stop giving me the Overdrive surveillance missions despite the fact that I was at 2/3, I tried waiting for a few hours in game, and over a few different days, but it wouldn't show up. I ended up being able to get my 3rd completion by having someone else share the mission to me, and that counted. Very excited for the Xenothreat Idris fight though, I've been waiting to be able to board and fight my way through a capital ship in Star Citizen for 9 years lol. Edit: also don't worry about the Idris getting killed while you're boarding, Evocati players have reported that CIG have massively buffed their health to encourage boarding.

I hope they don't start selling the 7a, it would be nice with more ships you can only get ingame.

Overdrive has been fun. Their poor communication is annoying. And the stacks of mission boxes at the drop station due to bugs is funny - but annoying. I don't mind the limited time window for special events exactly..... But it wish you could complete all of it one one sitting for the whole event. You're out of town for the final phase and it's all for nothing. Missing 5 is really terrible - would have been a great time for hauling.... Box delivery is the most Buggy, least fun activity in the entire game and I'm mystified by one handheld box of ammo is going to help the war effort.

I do wish that if they wanted to run an event with account rewards, that the website would at least be setup to track said event progress. Is a bit more work, but certainly makes sense to have it if they intend to run anything else like this.

Can say in the 3.23 that the Constellation series is flying extremely well in MM, the new Four size 5 guns have nice 62 round capacitors and she will be a beast for XenoThreat!!!!

Only problem we ran into was the same old bugs for box missions and stuff phasing thru hulls. Even then it only took 2 trys. I always look forward to zenothreat personally, glad to see it expanding. Time to warm up the valc

@5:28 It might be PantsWarrior getting his reward and was sharing it around? Then there was a bug causing the F7A mk2 exclusive Simoom paint to be applied to the F7C mk2 which might have some confusing it for a F7A perhaps.

I don't think people would be as upset about the "changes" to the overdrive rewards if CIG had just been upfront with people in the first place. I saw countless comments of people asking for clarification and all CIG gave them in response was more cagy vague responses that never addressed the question that was asked. There was plenty of people reading things into the conversation that was never said by CIG, but CIG is also guilty of doing some shady shifting the goalposts too. They really need to get the whole team on the same track and get all the t's crossed and i's dotted before they run another event like this and put out a better thought out event statement and FAQ page.

I'm glad that people that got stuck in the drama will get an extended chance to finish it

Been trying to do Overdrive but missions are not completing and new missions are not showing up after accepting or after “completing” previous missions. Cannot complete all 5 phases of missions don’t complete and/or load.

I did each phase the day they came out, it was a little dicey but was able to get them all done. I feel a lot of people took it very casually and now that it’s crunch time, the servers are struggling. They have the capability to make really good mission chains but the issue is they need to work and not be crippled by bugs.

The Ovcerdrive mission 1/5, Yes, was a bit janky. However with the help of a friend we manage to finish it regardless of the issues.

Makes sense that we'll get to play these events again. Not like these events never happen again.

kinda glad i don't have to do the box mission again. I tried doing it at least a dozen times and there was a server issue/terminal issue every single time.

I kinda wish that there were some small participation rewards for those of us who can't give hours and hours to complete all those missions.

Think CIG needs to show quest lines with rewards in order to showcase what you get, and what u need to get it, it’s something simple that works well

Things like Overdrive needs to be possible to complete without too many issues before being introduced. Lots of people put money into the game for things like this. I love the new direction of upgrading ingame but it cannot be broken once it hits the PTU.

Biggest problem I had was avoiding the people camping/farming SPK. That and the mission failing before the group could assemble and get there. Finally just started server hopping to find one with no gankers and a low tick rate then ran the mission solo. It is easily doable by yourself if the server frame rate stays below about seven. Just bring a ton of ammo and keep moving. Do not try to defend the computer console, just loop by every so often to keep it progressing. Edit: Oh, and the very first time I tried phase 5 the XT ships were spawning perpetually. Same four ships over and over again. Must have taken out ten waves with my Corsair. Was able to call in a couple friends to keep them busy while I landed and got the boxes. Only to find the drop off kiosks bugged.

Really do hope you are right about 3.23 coming out next week as I am looking forward to it and the xeonthreat event as its one of my favourites

yeah, i think Thursday or Friday of next week is viable, If whatever testing they do over the weekend goes good. Im wondering as well, if boarding the Xenothreat Idris will be *required* for the new XT event, or if itll still just be "stop it"

I dont plan on pledging a mk2 so the upgrade would just be collecting dust in my hangar, but having watched my progression progress in the overdrive also turn into guesswork i can understand those backers who put 175$ into getting the campaign reward becoming frustrated. That being said i really hope CIG wont actually decide to sell the F7A independently for at least this years fleet week. Not only would it instantly ruin yet another attempt at starting with ingame achievement exclusive stuff. After marketing it like this and the campaign trouble, i can only see a decision like this escalating the drama.

The F7 mk2 promotion definitely feels strange. I could see the concept working after the game has officially launched as a way to boost sales, but in its current state it rings a bit hollow. As someone who hasn't had the chance to play SC in a long time, I do hope they run it again/I'll have the chance to acquire the F7A mk2, but hopefully the event structure gets tweaked

Well, I completed the first 4 phases with the assistance on random people on servers. I completed phase 5 solo on a weekday. If the server had been performing better I likely would have needed help for phase 5 for the ship and ground combat.

Here's hoping when I completed the Overdrive missions that they counted.

I've been doing the overdrive missions, but I can't clear cargo because the third box never spawns. And I haven't played 3.23 even though I really want to, I am waiting for some buddies to be ready to play when it goes live so I haven't even watched gameplay of it yet to surprise myself.

I did all the overdrive missions and no more quests pop up but I don’t have them all in my completed contracts. Sent a request to customer service and still waiting after 2 weeks!

I really enjoyed overdrive. It forced me to seek out groups to complete missions, and it was a great experience for me. I met a few new friends, and a lot of patient helpful players.

Definitely concerned about getting the Xenothreat rewards. However I knew this was probably going to be an issue so I was screenshotting my completion of each phase, so I don't think I will have a problem even if there is one to be had.

What i really want is a rework of some ship that feel not perfect compared to their lore. Also awaiting the gumball that don't reduce the weapon's size, it will be amazing.

I was very very lucky with Overdrive and managed to get it all to work with minimal headaches. I just hope I get my rewards and I really hope we see more of those large missions with special rewards

I wish they would create major mission checklist. Just let us know what we completed, would end some drama.

Though I think much of the friction is part of the Alpha experience in an ambitious project, I do think CIG could communicate better and account for the frustrations with bugs preventing completion and/or tracking. I do think your prediction for 3.23 release is spot on. Cheers!

Tried doing the quests but with 100 people limited servers your not guaranteed to find the help you need to do them... this kindof thing should only be done after full server meshing and we are all in a single server whwre we can find help

the missions we "didn't do" are NOT AVAILABLE to be redone, that is the problem. I personally didn't do the last 2 missions in PHASE 3 because the last 2 missions did not and will not come up. I believe it thinks they are done, this issue has been confirmed in IC several times. Is CIG saying because I don't get the missions they consider I have done them? I and others have asked this question and have been universally ignored.

If you aren't receiving them anymore, the script that issues upgrades is relying on you not receiving them anymore, for it to reward you.

I am expecting the rewards from completing Overdrive and I am plotting on how I can actually upgrade some ship to be upgradable.

The servers have been the biggest issue. Everything else is pointless if what you put in the game can't even spawn.

I like the idea of getting rewards for in-game events. I just wish they were not tied to a cash buy ship.

I wonder if there are changes to the main xenothreat event now that we can board an idris.

I'm hoping that CIG have a single player equivalent mission with the same rewards. This one is only achievable for multiplayer and is time limited so I missed the early part of it due to being on holiday.

Since I missed Overdrive, I hope they run it again in the future with the same rewards.
