1.0 comes when they have like 5 sol systems. After they got the tech ready for the second system then they can keep adding new systems. 4.0 with the first new system might come this year.

@@rmpyro Oden and Vega are already done, but kept under wraps as they are 2 systems of importance to the single player story line, its why a lot of the things have not been added to the PU, they dont want to spoil the campaign. Pyro is now in game fully explorable, have fun with the emp solar flares there :) and every planet in Stanton system just got MAJOR content added to all of them!

@@redbloodcell4047 It's in the polish phase and getting a release date at this years Citcon, they've moved practically the entire team from the singleplayer outside of the polish team to the PU alpha and the amount of content they're adding and the speed that they're doing so is drastically improved compared to before. I'm not saying that they've magically fixed their problems, but for a game that's been in development as long as GTA 6, and comparing leaked footage, it ain't the worst development timeline in the world.

We’re gonna get GTA 7 before the Star Citizen Beta 😭

I'll maybe get to play the beta in this lifetime. I'm not counting on it though.

Witcher 3 for example took 3 years of development to be made. 12 years is way more than your usual development time, most games that take this long to develop usually means they are stuck in development hell, or they had other setbacks (such as changing engines, scraping and remaking the game from the start etc.).

0:05 This color selector took 5 years and $7 million to develop, when it’s finally completed in about 2034 it will be the definitive way to select an RGB value for space exploration and conflict

You can make do with a mid end pc once you get out in space and planets but the big cities you spawn at will put you in 10-30 fps

GTA VI has been in development for the same amount of time. Difference is , SC has to be playable each step of the way because its crowd funded. RockStar gets to hide their development until they're ready to reveal , or they get hacked. SC's way of doing things also takes much longer.

StarField is the Joke imitation made as a cash grab based on SCs successful crowd funding campaign. SC does indeed have more then its fair share of bugs, but just like Cyberpunk was, when its working its one of the most amazing experiences you will ever have! and with 3.23 and the server meshing and crash recovery most of the major bugs have been solved. the every 20 minute crash to main menu is gone! ya, you can still clip through the ground, but that's more of an annoyance now instead of a fun killer!

Graphic used to be very futuristic and next gen, now is moderate at best.

The first playable module was the Hangar Module back in 2013 where you could look at and walk in your ships. In 2014 the second module, Arena Commander, was released, which is a Dogfighting arena. In 2015 the Persistent Universe Module was released with Alpha 2.0., which to this day is the main module of the game. In 2017 Alpha 3.0 was released, which allowed players to land on moons and later the first planet with the first city in 2018 with Alpha 3.3.5.

@@gabrielsantiago6656 Depends on where you start from. The first ever early access release or the Persistent Universe Module's release, which is the core element of Star Citizen. Either its 11 years or 9 years. Either way, we know that its gonna be in Alpha till at least the end of 2025, with Alpha 4.0 possibly at the end of this year. They are actively mentioning a "1.0", with more details in October during CitizenCon.

You can also scan your face with a webcam and then the character looks sorta like yourself.

Kickstarter was 11.5 years ago in q4 2012 but they were basically a handful of clueless guys back then with some ideas and assets.
