Is not pay to win lol, some of the strongest ships are very cheap, and theres no scummy sales tactics, you probably watched the Pirate software video where he goes on a rant about a game he literally has no idea about.

Sales tactics can definitely be criticized. I don't think CIG is scummy, but the way they've handled some events haven't been great. However, the money isn't being wasted. It's funding some of the most impressive tech seen in video games. Also the game isn't pay to win. The best dog fighting ships and early ships for non-combat professions are easy to earn. Paying $1,100 for a Carrack gets you no real advantage other than just a big ship to look at in the hanger. If you don't have a crew for the bigger ships, it's a disadvantage to fly them solo. And the strength of big ships depends entirely upon the skill and coordination of the crew. With all that said, don't buy it if you can't deal with bugs and typical alpha jank.

avenger titan is just a starter ship and thats all you need tho you can just go with like a mustang or something its not even a sales vid
