People who abuse these girls aren’t fans. They are a disgrace. Well done to Georgia and all who rise above it.

I think the abusers away from the pitch are producing projections targeting their self-image on popular people. Now, one year later, Georgia Stanway is most beloved in Munich. The people are proud that she moved from England to Bavaria. In particular the friendship to Klara Bühl seems to be very strong.

Fair play for speaking out Georgia. Absolutely vile some of the comments I saw. There's no excuse for abusing of disrespecting players at ANY time. Anyone who makes such comments should look themselves in the mirror and really ask themselves if they would say this to a person's face. Good on Alex and Georgia for speaking out. Everyone makes mistakes. That's it.

I'm impressed with how well these people express and explain how inappropriate criticism and comment affects them. Their story gives insight into the dark side of fame and national notoriety. I wish them good luck in the southern hemisphere this summer. I enjoy the way these two individuals play. Win or lose, they give their heart and soul to every game.

These horrible people who hate are just the ones who are jealous. Georgia should not have gone through that. She is so mature as she has risen above it. Same with Alex. Women are just as good as men at football and nothing can take that away. The people saying that you won't be able to have kids, hoping ur periods hurt are so cruel. We love you lionesses so much and we love how you are so positive abt everything that you do. You give 110% out on the pitch and always put hard work and dedication into your work. Love you loads🫶🏻

The lionesses are so strong for them to go through that but things people say are just unacceptable calling Alex Greenwood a “Snake” for switching clubs and just generally being Horrid to the others! These strong woman who pull through all of this really do set a good example on how woman especially are just treated horribly and hopefully their messages gives a good message so people can live without such heartbreaking comments! ❤❤

Online abuse should never be allowed it’s disgusting, Stanway and all footballers have made some dirty tackles I think if men did them they would be praised by their fans and for women there not, which you shouldn’t be praised but you shouldn’t be abused for doing a bad tackle and apologisinng

Stanway is fantastic. She improved her tackles. She`s now a Superstar. But I love her fight. Against AUS when we were missing the enforcers. A lot of pushing, shoving and holding went on. Georgia was having none of it. Her spirit is what makes her great. She worked hard on controlling that spirit in tackles. Now she`s a perfect footballer. Weird she is so passionate but has ice-water in her veins in front of goal. She`s my first choice penalty taker, male or female world-wide.

As a teacher I know a rule that isn’t enforced from the start is hard then to enforce and the world has made a huge mistake with social media. Surely there was some way of making people sign up to these platforms with bank details needed and when they wrote an offensive comment they could be fined! We are in a dreadful situation I would not want my children to have any level of fame/coverage on social media. I feel for these sports people/celebs :(

I think it is fair to say that there has been a lot of trolling on media associated with women's football, it was certainly evident during the Euros, the BBC have your say comments were at times dreadful. I agree with you totally, there should be some way of making those who post the comments accountable...aside from being vile and misogynistic there should be no place, nor acceptance, for those views. I hope in your school, if indeed that is the situation where you teach, that young boys are educated in what inclusion is and what the impact of offensive views actually is. For me one of the greatest celebrations this summer was how inclusive the tournament was, with respect both on and off the pitch, that did not judge on race, gender or who someone might love...if only the men's game was like that, but unfortunately it isn't and is light years behind.

Georgia shouldn't have to say sorry. it should be the people who say these things. having the nerve to go out and say these things to footballs are just horrible we don't need hate comments going round. the girls go out there and play they love it and they people love it. It would be really scary going and playing in front of millions of people. People make mistakes everyday just because she made one wrong tackle doesn't mean thousands of people should go out and say stuff like that, Georgia Stanway is a great football she is my favourite footballer. I want to watch the people who leave these hate comments play football and I hope they know how it feels.
