Maybe Livorno is a bit off-track for those visiting Tuscany, but it's worth a visit. Livornesi are the nicest in Tuscany (in my opinion) and you should check out (besides torta), the caciucco, the local fish soup and baccalà (stockfish) alla livornese. Ah and dont' forget to stop by at Bar Civili to sip a ponce.

It's made all the way up the coast into Liguria. We call it "Cecina". Ours is thinner, which makes it better imo.
