    Jon B....I tested the master series vs my old school USA made 1982 Aladdin Stanley (32oz.). You guy finally matched the old school USA made quality... even though the master series is made in China. The quality IS there without a doubt. These master series Stanley’s are not easy to find and a bit pricey but worth it if you need a quality thermos like I do. Thanks and I will be buying more of them in the future.

    Bought the 1.4 quart thermos some months ago with my first salary starting work in geology. I really like the quality and weight of the bottle - seems very durable! It just feels right! And I agree - the feel of the cup is fantastic! The rounded lip, insulated walls, rubber botton - well worth the money! (even my dad compliments the cup - and that is saying a lot!) There are two problems however: first one, if you've drank coffee from the cup, and left some residue in it, the screwed on cup is gonna leak the few coffee drops still left in it. If you pack the thermos in a backpack and put it on top of some clothing, it sometimes can get stained. I always give a quick rub with a napkin or a splash of water before storing the thermos in my backpack. Second problem, the stainless steel top portion of the actual bottle warms up quite a bit and that is basically your coffee slowly cooling. I am not sure if it is a problem with my bottle, but nevertheless, don't worry - the bottle still keeps hot for very long! So, yes, it fullfills the requirements Stanley has set - the bottle is durable and has very good thermal properties. The handle feels rigid and allows the bottle to still be packed in my backpack that I carry with me everyday. Now, geology is a field that can be very tolling on the equipment - this bottle has rolled down some cliffs already and has rubbed against quite a many rocks. The paint has scratches but there are still no dents! I hope this thermos bottle will accompany me for many years to come! I will write an update in, let's say.. ten years! The bottle will definitely be all scratched up, but it will have gone through lots of adventures - and that is the main reason I bought it!

    Update after 1,5 years. My Stanley Master bottle is holding up perfectly well! No problems at all. I do not have the problem shown in Vitaly's video. Next update after another 1-2 years.

    Update after 3 years (lost my previous KZread account). The 1.3L bottle is still being used almost every week, when going to work on our family property. The construction of the bottle is holding up really well - handle is sturdy, the cup is great for drinking, the plug is still in one piece, drinks stay hot a long time. Scuffed at places, but it adds to the nice patina. Of course, it is just a big piece of metal and a lot of even cheaper thermoses last a long time, but this one just makes me happy anytime I take it out of the cupboard, carry to the car and bring it out in the nature. Can't beat that! Another update after a year or so.

    When you go to make the Rev 2.0 of these bottles you should make some type of secondary "drink thru" lid for the 18 oz bottle. The 18 oz size is really an "on the go" size but there's no way you can use it in a moving vehicle or even just walking around without a whole lot of risk. Don't get rid of the current lid because that is great for what it is. Just make a second lid available that people can purchase as an option. Also...because I'm all about the "upsale"...some type of soft, fitted carry bag for the 25 oz would be fantastic. Something that is lightly padded but low profile with a top carry handle or both a top carry handle and a side carry handle would be fantastic.

    Can you explain what the small hole is on the food jars lid on the stainless part. It looks like plastic? I was wondering what the hole in the underside of the stainless part of the lid was?

  • @finnmccool684
    @finnmccool6844 жыл бұрын

    The pour-through lid (with the "ball" construction) is strange, and seems to be over-engineered. No one (including Stanley) seems to be able to figure out how it works, so maybe you can tell me. Look at the lid. It has two sets of threads, with a smooth area in between, and two rubber gaskets. I think the idea is this: when you travel, screw it all the way down (past both sets of threads) to keep it from leaking. When you want to drink coffee, unscrew the lid past the first set of threads. That allows you to pull the lid up about a quarter inch (to pour), and then push it back down, to seal it. When you travel again, screw it all the way down. I think. Thoughts? Thanks.

    One thing you should let the costumers know is if the lid is insulated or not. Because mutch of the heat goes lost through the lid of it's not insulated. That's a big thing for me if I'm going to buy it or not, can I open the top of the lid so I can insulate the lid myself if it's not? Questions that's important, please let me know!

    Dear Stanley, I've bout a new classic Stanley flask recently. It keeps water and tea hot well, but unfortunately hot liquid in the flask tastes odd and I could not tolerate this strange taste. I washed it thoroughly with water, soap, baking soda, boiled water a few times, but this stubborn taste and odor still lingers on. Please help me what I should do. Thanks

    I just bought 25 oz size. It is said to have a 1.4 x thicker wall which makes it 2.75 more rigid. It is much more heavy like a tank. Since you have to pay a premium for this uncommon size anyhow and figuring for me 3000 times use in ten years, why not just get the best for about $20 more? The sticky rubber bottom vacuum insulated heavy duty cup, alone is worth the extra price plus you get about 30% better insulation to have that last cup at the end of the day still be nice and hot.

    Just an idea: when I drove half way across the US, I experienced weather extremes...hot and humid, to very very cold and windy. I realized that in both extremes of weather, my stainless steel container and especially stainless steel cup was VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO MY LIPS WHILE SIPPING MY HOT TEA. Also, holding stainless outside my hands were cold and shakey. I am a normal person, nothing wrong with me...it was just very very cold unexpectedly. I REALIZED THAT it is much nicer to have a stainless steel container and a plastic cup in extreme weather conditions. I also tried sipping from the bottle, but it was so cold my ENTIRE body was shaking trying to drink, and spilled it all over myself and inside my car. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A CUP TOP THAT HAS PLASTIC INSIDE AND AROUND THE CUP PART THAT TOUCHES THE LIPS WHILE SIPPING. THANK YOU.
