Stanley Johnson "Work" | An Inspiring Journey of Hard Work & Dedication
Stanley Johnson is a 4 time California State Champion making him the only player in the state's history to accomplish such a feat at the highest level. We've known Stanley since his freshman year at Mater Dei when he wasn't even a starter on the team. We've seen Stanley transform for a role player to arguably the most NBA ready product in the nation today coming out of high school. You've seen the mixtapes and the improvement in his game from year to year but what you don't see is the hard work and dedication Stanley has put into his craft. Stanley's journey to his 4th state championship and becoming the player he is today is not only impressive but it should also serve as inspiration to all up and coming ball players. Stanley has a poster hanging in his room given to him by his mother and the poster reads "The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible." There is no secret to becoming great at your craft, it just comes down to how hard you're willing to work.

If the Lakers manage to hold onto their Top 5 pick (goes to the Suns if they don't tank hard enough this season) and Karl Towns (my target pick) is off the boards or decides to stay on for another year at UK, then Johnson's the one they should NOT hesitate to grab. Team as it is now will need a proven leader after Kobe steps down, hopefully after this season. Stanley's got that covered and is a very good two-way player on top of that. We shall see how it all goes down soon enough...

Its crazy seeing a teammate go this far. Out of all of us in ryb I knew somebody was going to go far. I played with and against stanley when I was around 10 years old. Me nd him both played for ryb. His mom was hilarious! Hes worked hard his whole life committed to basketball only. Thats tough

This is a great inspiration video and i honestly thank ball is life community to uploading this. This might change my life even, i wont stop nor quit until i prove the people who has doubted me in the past.

Stanley is an example of life, not only of basketball
watched this so many times as a kid. dude really inspired me
Nothing like having your family there, especially when they have the fundamentals and experience to help you succeed in what you have a gift in.
I dislike how kids come & comment im 6 ft & 13 & all that other nonsense, Genetically you're a giant, but in reality you need to be taking advantage of that & getting buckets!
Awesome figure, his mother

I think she meant to say ambidextrously. It means that you are able to use both your left and right hand equally. I think she mispronounced it, adding an "s".

Man, our team played him in the long beach tourney last year and after you play him you just know he's just destined for greatness
He will be the best to ever play the game!!! Respect stanley!!
This guy has been my motivation and my ball role model for months now. Great to see the truth coming out, Playing this game is WORK and if you put it in and take it on as a lifestyle you will progress. 'Hard Work beats talent when talent does not work hard'.

One thing with your quote : this guy works hard but he's also gifted with amazing ability. So your quote should be hard work beats talent if talent does work hard but if talent works hard than it'll be hard work

Class act amazing athlete should be number 1 in top 100 without a doubt THANK you Stanley for making the right choice Arizona!! welcome
Props to his moms . Being a parent myself. Thats takes lots of hard work and dedication and time . Great vid
i respect stanley and his mother he worked very hard to get to where he is now and this just inspired me to love the game and play it and train more harder.
I have mad respect for him
Stanley always remember this "You are here to Serve not to be Serve!!!!!!"
unforgivable things for the lakers to get this guy plz basketball gods PLZ !!!!
"i would put a blindfold on him so he could dribble the ball without hands" oh my
Had the amazing opportunity to play on that so cal tigers team with stanley. His mom aint lying when she said she used to push him at practice. I remember the team practicing while she made him do laps around the gym for missing a layup or something XD much love to coach kay and good to see big stanley rewarded for all the hard work
Congrats to Stanley Johnson; look forward to seeing him in the NBA.
His simplicity and consistency is what I strived to replicate in high school, just studying and mimicking his game did wonders for me, Stanley will always be one of my favorite players
Opportunities like this don't come very often Stanley you sir are the man congrats and see you in the NBA
Stan the man
He is thriving in Detroit. Bright future, dont get hurt, he will be great
great job kid, now just dont touch drugs and stay away from celebrities, you ll have the brightest future!
Man the way this kid is so sportsman even after the win he is consoling to the losing PG.
R.I.P To Stanley's Mother 🙏🙏🙏
I know there is obviously more to it but seeing his heart and work ethic makes me believe he deserved to be #1 ranked after that season. Great player super excited to watch him for years to come.
My dad introduced me to basketball when I was little and I did not like it. I went and did karate, now I am 14 and started playing in the 8 grade and this just motivates me to work even harder because later on when I am famous you will all hear my story and what I had to get through to be the best.
