wayne is bigger than any cup. now if the question was that oilers wins the cup for the rest of mcdavids career, so about 10 cups in row. that i could see but just 1 no way. mcdavid has already brought joy for years. if oilers won a cup the celebration would be 4 months and then a new season

Win the cup because thats exactly what Connor wants to do.

First Gretzky, then Pronger, Taylor Hall, and now McDavid. It would help to keep players rather than trading away chances.

be a gm modes in nhl prove that winning the cup is just 1 possible goal. most teams consider revenue the main goal. a few might consider the entertainment and fan service value in global scale and in terms of that mcdavids value is insane as he is in highlight reels almost every night. even now im watching an oilers video because it talks about mcdavid. if the video was about stone or marchesseault i wouldnt have clicked.

It’s a real trick question. Their current contracts and cap makes it an issue to keep the filthy offensive lineup they have. A star has got to go to get som monster deals and even out the team.

Mcdavo with ovi would be insane 160-70 points for mcdavid, 70-80 goals ovi

They will do the same with Mcdavid like they did with Gretzky except Gretzky won cups in Edm

I’m glad to see most oilers fans just love the team period and want to see a cup here. I love McDavid too, but we would still have a solid team without him, potentially a better team overall. Leon would take over as captain and we’d be just fine.

Because the NHL is just entertainment for fans. Picking a cup over Mcdavid would be like picking a tv show to have 1 good season finale in exchange for the rest of the show sucking going forward.

because the game is the thing. if you win with the most boring strategy and are never in the highlight reels but you win the cup its just bleh. if you love hockey instead of just winning whatever then you want to see amazing plays even if in season standings you have some points less. might have something to do with how i always try to do the pretty plays in games and real even if it leads to less goals. its also what makes things like kariya-selanne or sabres hasek so beautiful when you know they dont have a chance but they still impress every time
