I've seen Stanley live since 1987 and his tone always amazes me. The BEST show I ever saw was in 1990 or so in San Francisco. 50 people max, Stanley Clarke Trio sounded like 11 people. After the show we all hung out and he signed shit. The good old days of shows when you could go see your hero AND get dinner for $40 bucks.

He is getting that TONE from a SHORT SCALE Alembic ! He uses an unusual amp set up . He incorporates a " full range " approach . There is a guitar amp mixed in . This time it looks like a Roland Jazz Chorus . The Alembic is NOT your average bass . The there is STANLEY playing the Alembic ! I have seen him several times . I rank SMV up there . I do regret not seeing him with Chick Corea . Their music will live on FOREVER ! He really does justice to this standard .

The drummer is terrible. Same problem last time in Stockholm. Destroyed the whole thing. Will not be there in May. It has turned into heavy metal! There are better rock musicians for that!
