For patients with poor sitting balance who cannot safely stand, initial sessions with the Rifton E-Pacer will focus mainly on standing and posture, with two people assisting. Watch this video to learn how to safely transfer and position the patient in the E-Pacer, so that they can facilitate knee, hip and back extension while keeping good posture and standing.

Using the arm supports with the E-Pacer has helped users with decreased upper body tone to stabilize their head. Otherwise, because it does not have a head support, it may not be the appropriate device for users with poor head control.
