For those talking about the explanation on requiems in general, I do understand the concept. Try to refer to this though. Think about the example I brought up, that was the last situation that Jotaro was in. This is one of the many ways to counter Made In Heaven if he did need it, Jotaro doesn't having longing desires really. His desires just connect altogether, point to point. That was the reasoning as a whole.

Actually my theorie is that this is Staar Platinum's actual ability without Jotaro knowing it. Being able to copy the ability of another stand as soon as he understands it. His ability would be to borrow another ability.

@@wintermelon4020 You're totally right, "same type" situation is foreshadowed throughout all of Stardust Crusaders (like with D'arby brothers who had almost the same stands or when Jotaro made a drink appear out of seemingly nowhere in D'arby the gambler arc) But GER and Bites the dust are not just blatant asspuls as well. In terms of lore, parts 4 and 5 (and kinda 6) establish that stand arrows can attract to strong people in need and give them special abilities to help them out. Kira had to keep his identity in secret, so the arrow gave him exactly what he needed. And the same goes for Requiem arrow, it is special because of its ability to power up stands and give them one powerful and specific ability for one specific situation (like when Polnareff wanted to protect the arrow, it transformed his stand into perfect protector). GER is so overpowered because Giorno's enemy had a very powerful stand that "erases cause and leaves effect" so our donut hair boy just got the opposite ability (and also Giorno is Dio's best son, so he is second generation OP character) I think "it's the same type of stand" became a meme because not a lot of people noticed said foreshadowing. For a first time watcher/reader it was not that obvious because of bizarreness of the show and when they saw Jotaro pull time stop out of seemingly nowhere (just like with that drink I mentioned lol) they were simply surprised. Also Jotaro is one of the most loved characters, so he's memed a lot and these "same type" memes are stupidly funny, so why not

the logic behind jotaro's 'flight' is that stands can already affect the placement of their users within the world, especially ones that are tied down by their range. Through this they can be used to maneuver their stand users around in an inhuman manner - this can be seen when jotaro and every other crusader jump out of dio's building, only to save themselves by having their stands grab onto the building to save themselves. Jotaro can't fly, and neither can dio (outside of The World). Rather, they're simply just pushing off of the ground at very big fast. The manga does a way better job at portraying this than the anime.

The reason Jotaro only stops time for two seconds in DiU could be because that the Time Stop actually could stop his heart-beat. Perhaps why Star Platinum's durability dropped so low is that Jotaro got over his heart-related issue, but passed it on to Star Platinum.

Jotaro isn’t just flying out of nowhere he’s using Star Platinum to launch himself. In the anime they do show Star Platinum hitting things to ricochet him or being used to jump but it looks like flying due to Time stop and they have to fit the dialogue into the moments when they’re in the air.

“Having the same ability is an ass pull” oh come on give the writer some credit. For some reason, star Platinum was the only stand without any abilities other than basically just being the hulk, yet had an A stat in learning??? Something to that. It’s almost like, his stand’s power was to adapt and “Learn” powers as necessary, to do whatever it takes to protect Jotaro and his friends. He learned star finger as a way to slightly increase his range. Only after knowing Dio’s power, and seeing it be used, he was able to do it himself. And, just like Dio, he wasn’t aware of his own time ability until it was tested. Complain all you want, but at least they hinted the possibility for a long time before it actually happened. It’s not like he just got to that point as a writer and said “oh shut there’s no way to win, I’ll just say he has the same ability”

And in the case of Made In Heaven, Jotaro had the choice to save Jolyne or Kill Pucci, so he never had to "adapt", The World was all he needed that he no longer needed to adapt. And with Killer Queen, I'd say Bites The Dust activated too quickly to be adapted to, or Kira didn't use it enough for Star Platinum to adapt to it, or The World was still strong enough that he didn't need to adapt to Bites The Dust because The World was all he needed to beat Bites The Dust.

dude, stand stats didn't even exist in part 3 originally. And his ability isn't to "learn" either. That's nothing more than a fan theory, Araki never intended. Star finger was already explained as him channeling all his power into one finger, and it was established that The World and Star Platinum were the same type of stand, which is why he could stop time.

I like to think that SP himself is a sort of Arrow, it's just Jotaro hasn't figured it out yet.

1:49- to be fair, he was in a coma that had him on death’s door for almost the entirety of Part 6 due to White Snake shenanigans- the man was still recovering from that incident- so his durability wasn’t in top form as you’d expect from a coma recovered patient that just recently woke up- even if it’s a badass like Jotaro.

@@AvoxionYT Maybe. Star Platinum's Requiem ability doesn't necessarily have to be as broken as Gold Experience: Requiem. It seems like it would be just some kind of causality Manipulation, which Star Platinum already seems to be able to do (to some extent) by pausing time and giving the user a few extra seconds to correct a situation that is unfavourable. In Reality, it seems that you get the ability that will most help you to fulfil your desire at any time. Jotaro/Star Platinum: The World would not have gotten Return To Zero if we put him in Giorno's/Gold Experience's place because it already has the ability to defeat King Crimson. There is a brief period of time after King Crimson's ability ends and Diavolo is tangeable. (All Jotaro would have to do is look at his watch, or count in his head or something... then, the second he realises the numbers have changed... activate The World). 1,2,3, 7... (wait a minute... 7 doesn't come after 3... STAR PLATINUM: THE WORLD.... ORA ORA ORA). Diavolo would do the same thing Kira did... try to avoid Jotaro as much as possible. Diavolo would just stand there staring at Jotaro with a a expression of mild fear/annoyance as Epitath would simply not show any future where Jotaro is defeated. Diavolo wouldn't be able to do anything. The only time we see Star Platinum: The World pressed against the wall is against Made In Heaven. The ability he would need is maybe an extra 5 seconds of Time Stop/Time Rewind. (Lets say 10 seconds of casting time that can be spent any way Jotaro wants... maybe he choses to use 6 seconds of time stop and 4 seconds of time rewind). When Anasui gets attacked, rewind time 2 seconds, then spend 1 second saving Jolyne and 8 seconds pummelling Pucci. GER can only undo an action, by resetting time to before the action was performed... which caused an infinite loop with King Crimson's time skip, which skipped the time loop... causing Diavolo to be permanantly trapped in a world of time resets. I think this ability is in the same tier as Return To Zero as they could counter each other without overpowering each other.

My idea for Star Platinum Requiem would just give the stand a power of 'perfect timing/perception'. With the ability to stop time, maybe further develop it where he can rewind and slow down time, in a way sort of similar/opposite to what Diavolo can do. Jotaro can use the rewinding time to perfectly time his attacks/decisions using Star Platinum's superior precision. He can slow down time to further correct his precision. It's ability to perceive details can be enhanced as well with the extra time it gives itself to assess situation within a fraction of a moment. To me Jotaro's stand will always be a stand of high precision, and giving him time manipulation abilities through requiem I think will help further solidify it's identity as such.

First of all, its not technically an Asspull for 2 Stands to have the same or similar abilities. in part 4, 2 rats had that EXACT SAME STAND. also, Jotaro had to race against time to save his mother from Dio's Influence. Dio gained the ability to stop time because he was a Vampire, and as a Vampire, is immortal, therefore bypassing all laws of time. this allows him to control Time. Jotaro can Stop time because he had to race against it. Its not as long as The World's, and won't Increase everytime he uses it because he hasnt bypassed time, hes simply learned to work against it. Secondly, When time is Stopped, Gravity is also stopped, allowing Dio and Jotaro to move around freely. the Flying outside of Stopped time is Stand Jumps. Thirdly, Jotaro's Time Stop is reduced due to the fact that he Neglected it in between Part 3 and 4. Technically its plot, but theres a story behind it. this also explains how he gets back to 5 seconds of time stop in part 6, as he's been using it a lot more recently.

Loved your idea I've got a very different concept that's been on my mind forever Hope you find it interesting So I've always seen jotaro as the kind of guy who protects people, even if it comes to committing outright murder. (I'll circle back to this in a moment). Even so, he's a strong but collected and knowledgeable person. I feel like his requiem should reflect that. The strongest yet most collected kind of warrior I could think of was a spartan warrior. Trained with acute precision, intense strength, and extremely knowledgeable on the battle field. Sounds a bit like jotaro eh? I feel like we could give Star Platinum Requiem a spartan spear, shield, and armour. Just as I said, he's the kind of person to protect people even if it means outright murder. Protecting being the shield and murder being the spear. I don't feel like giving him weapons and basically turning him into a stronger silver chariot would be all that interesting though. So I think we should build off of his time manipulation. Make him a full on time manipulator. If he bangs the spear against the shield he can rewind time to redo any harm done and see where the battle went wrong. Basically, he can rewind a few seconds after anything and nobody except him will perceive the rewinding time. Example: Dio destroys 20m radius emerald splash and sends kakyoin flying into the water tower. Jotaro rewinds time to the moment Dio stepped in the 20m. He watches as Dio basically teleports to destroy the emerald splash and punch kakyoin within the time span of a couple seconds. He is returned to the moment before dio stels into the 20m and lets kakyoin know that dio can stop time. Not too complicated. Now, what about the spear. I'm thinking for attacking and throwing people off he could use his spear somehow (pls give me ideas) to basically commit a king crimson, except a bit better. He uses the spear to make it so only he perceives the next few seconds of time and can do whatever he wants to his enemies. Example: Jotaro gets shot by the rat cannon things. He uses his spear thing to send himself into a dimension only he perceives and can move around in. He lunges up the hill and puts himself in position to turn the rat to a splatter of pregu brand meat paste and when time resumes he smashes it into the ground. All joksuke perceives is jotaro teleporting up the mountain into a position to kill the rat. With that said this comment is long enough so please give me suggestions for any changes or..... yeah

Jotaro’s time stop duration decreases by time due to him not practising or not using it for a long time

I think this fits perfectly because of a theory of mine. Star Platinum's bullshit abilities make more sense if his ability isn't The World, but mimicry. It takes the form and face of Jotaro, has the same range as Magician's Red and only manifests after Jotaro witnesses it, can enter his own and other's bodies to control them like Hierophant Green, though less painfully, gains Star Finger after witnessing Silver Chariot's sword counterbalancing it's range, and only mimic's Dio's abilities after seeing them: flying during Kakyoin's fight, seeing in stopped time after learning of it, and even mimicking Over Heaven's Truth. I think the main reason Jotaro seems to drop abilities and get nerfed from time to time is his relatively average developmental potential, meaning it takes more effort to maintain needless abilities, hence dropping durability, phasing into bodies, and Star Finger over time. By taking this observation and mimicry method to it's logical extreme, and as you said, Jotaro's intrinsic desire to improve and protect, he would definitely gain the ability to copy and near-match anything and everything around him.

Regarding the comments of flying. Dio and Jotaro did it mainly cause of the stands leaping them up that high. So not really flying. For time stop in part three there were hints of Jotaro stopping time for a very short period. Such as when he went up against the stand user of Geb and punched him. SP's image was distorted and he warped to the user's direction avoiding a lethal blow from Geb. That was the time stop.

no, Requiem just unleashes the full potential of the booth and makes its powers much more powerful or takes away its power and creates a much stronger skill (for example, GER and CR), so that Star Platinum at least interrupts time by 4 to 10 minutes, and your stats would increase a lot, but not to an infinite level.

What's funny is that Star Platinum Requirem doesn't need a weakness, the stand is being held back by the stand user.

@@gator566 killer queen isn't a requiem stand you fuck. A requiem stand is when the stand is peirced by the arrow Kira was the one peirced u dumb fuck. That's why Kira just gained another ability

@@kano9449 Killer queen bites the dust is technically a requiem, but it isn't called requiem because it was Araki's first idea of requiem stand. I see what you mean by it not being a requiem stand because it wasn't stabbed with the arrow, but it was the first idea of requiem. Also if you think the way you are with "A requiem stand is when the stand is pierced by the arrow Kira was the one pierced" then Kira would be a requiem stand user, because he gets stabbed with the arrow and then his appearance changes just like a requiem stand would.

@@iko20101 yeah but requiem stands need a the requiem arrows to become a requiem. They need a specific type not just any arrow

@@kano9449 True, but Araki didn't think of requiem back in part 4 as the name of it. So i just count killer queen bites the dust as the first building block for requiem stands.
