Stand-up Performance by Dulcé Sloan
Dulcé Sloan, comedian and correspondent for "The Daily Show," performs at The Summit on Race in America, hosted by the LBJ Foundation, on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, Texas.

More about the summit
In a March 1965 address to a joint session of Congress, President Lyndon Baines Johnson opened one of the most resonant speeches of his presidency with these words: "I speak tonight for the dignity of man and the destiny of democracy."
His appeal for voting rights was heard across the nation and he viewed their securement a sacred trust in America's quest towards equal rights for all of its inhabitants. But as LBJ knew, the destiny of democracy is not preordained. It is in the hands of every generation of Americans with a charge to leave it stronger for the next. The salvation of history must be earned in our times.
Today, despite the strides made toward civil rights, racism has flared alarmingly, threatening to compromise our nation's dignity, erode our democracy, and define the next era of our country's evolution. LBJ's words and deeds a half century ago are a clarion call.
While no exploration of the complex issue of race can be definitive or complete, we hope that in bringing together a myriad of voices, The Summit on Race in America will promote a deeper understanding of the challenges our country faces. In doing so, we also aim not only to strengthen our resolve for meaningful change but to foster greater unity among all Americans.

@Mimi Teves In the U.S., Walmart is known for having some pretty crazy-looking characters shop there. Most people see Target as it's more uppity cousin/rival. The idea is that they should definitely know what brunch is since they met at a Target.

@Mimi Teves Yes! I'm a life-long non-US sicker fan of all stand-ups, completely in love with Dulce, but that whole ~11:00 routine about Wallmart-Target-brunching-we-both-have-shoes-on has to be one of the most time-and-place specific routines I've ever heard!! I was completely in the dark with that one too! I feel most of us non-US people have to do an hour research to get that routine, even maybe guess most of US people five years ago or 5 years in the future would struggle to get that lol.

This lady is very witty and calculating in her punchlines, I LOVE it!!
I'm so mad right now. What the hell is this audience? Dulcé is amazingly good at this, I've been dying of laughter for the past 5 videos I've seen of her, I even laugh with some of the things related to the States even though I'm from Europe. If I had the opportunity, I'd give her a standing ovation throughout the entire show.

Yes New York can be very annoying, can't really defend it. I find most of the people who act like New Yorkers pulling rank, are non natives, who moved here after college, gentrifying once rough neighborhoods, forcing Real New Yorkers out cause of rent increase. Truthfully, New Yorkers could care less who lives here, we're too busy surviving. The struggle is real! Lol
